    How do I recognise the difference between a gender and society question vs a gender and theology question in an exam?

    • @IThinkThereforeITeach
      @IThinkThereforeITeach  14 днів тому +1

      Good question. You can overlap the topics but the question will mention either daly/reuther or part of their approach e.g abandon vs reform Christianity. Best advice I can give you is to look at the ppt of past questions to see how the examiners usually word the questions :)

      Im guessing this is the Q you mean, "Should official Christian teachings resist current secular views on gender?" It wants you to discuss whether the Christian teachings on gender/gender roles etc are out dated or whether they can uphold their integrity in a secular society or whether the Christian views might even work well/adapt to current secular views. You would need to discuss how you interpret the current secular (non religious) views of gender and if these work with Christian views. Hope this helps :)

    Hi Ma'am, i am a private candidate (former sixth-former) studying in England, looking to consider Religious Studies as one of my third options to take exams in for the Summer 2023 exams mostly cos I find Philosophy and ideas underpinning religion interesting. I have some questions about your subject.
    1) Is it possible to study both AS & A-Level in one year?
    2) Can the Religious Studies course be studied at home solely with textbooks, revision guides and solely your videos to refer to?
    3) What revision guides or textbooks do you suggest buying?

    hello, I was wondering whether there can ever be a double within an exam eg 2 metaethics. Additionally, I was wondering if it was possible for, for example arguements based on obervation to be in the same paper with a question on arguements based on reason. Similarly: religious language 1 and 2, gender and society and theology, pluralism and society and theology. Thank you

      Great question, yes they can and have been known to do it in the past especially with ethics. So you could get a question on Utilitarianism for example then one asking to apply util to business. It is rare as the examiner's have to show they are testing you on a range of the specification but the risk limits being able to ignore any topics :)

    I think there is actually a gospel of Mary Magdalen but it just didn't make the final cut as it wasn't deemed as the true word of God. But I think it can be read if anyone wanted to read it, along with all of the gospels that didn't get included in the new testement. Plus in any case none of the authors of the bible were probably who they said they were anyway so no one really knows who has authority or why.

      That is very interesting, I didn't realise they could be accessed. Yes good point about the authors of the Bible, works well as part of a discussion in an essay :)

    Hi! If you were to argue that Jesus had female apostles who were not included in texts because it was written and edited by men etc. Do you have to state that this is an assumption and almost a conspiracy theory, or are you able to confidently argue that there MUST have been a female apostle/ female leaders in general which the Church has written out , such as Priscilla or Apphia to i guess make your argument more persuasive?

    • @IThinkThereforeITeach
      @IThinkThereforeITeach  Рік тому

      Great question, I would still argue it as an assumption as we don't have physical verifiable evidence, it is just highly likely. Your argument will still be strong even if you suggest the possibility :)
