Use your gouge and use it with the bevel on the bottom until you get a round all that chattering with that skew chisel could get you hurt and with such a slim piece of stock stop the lathe and check your piece more often until your more experienced and also theres tons of great video's on here that can teach you hiw to turn safely and well good luck
I saw this one a bunch of times an thought about it. But I highly doubt it can possibly have the power to turn something over three ft long with efficiency. And I want to start smaller anyway I ended up going with the craftsman for like an extra 70 bucks it's on its way. I hope it's solid
Il faut attaquer avec la gouge à dégrossir. Le porte outil doit etre au niveau de l'axe de la piece de bois en mouvement et rapproché au maximum de la piece à usiner. Bon courage.
Well I'm not a lathe snob. It was cheap, and it does the job. I don't know alot about the company except the product I got from them still works and is still going strong..
I've bought a couple things from vevor. You get more than your money's worth from them. They aren't for pros, but if you want to try something without sinking a lot of money they're great. Tool snobs irritate me also.
Yes! I cringed when he started with the tool rest on the wrong side. He finally moved it to the correct side, but I cringed again when he started turning the wood with the rest loose and waaay too far out. I stopped watching around the 26 min mark. Didn't want to see blood.
I looked at a couple of videos of this lathe and yours is the only one that actually put a piece of wood on it. Thanks for that. I think you want the tool rest to be parallel to the wood and close to it. That way the leverage works for you. Cheers.

hope it works out for you. i thought this one had good power. scared the shite out of me a time or two
Tool rest should be at least center height sa your work piece and close as you can without it hitting
i have refined my setup thanks for the advice

Ahora ya sabes usar el torno antes no , el soporte para la gurbia es muy malo hay que modificarlo
Oh man, your chisel work bar is way too far away from the wood!
if i remember i changed it towards the end of the vid. and after the vid its setting in a shed to never to touched again
@@lowtechredneck Maybe I didn´t get that far, glad you did though! 🙂
Ahi no tenias ni idea como usar el torno
When you start shilling for Vevor you've reached the bottom. The only thing worse than Vevor products is their customer service.

Am i rhe only person slightly upset that he put the tool reat on the wrong side

@@lowtechredneck yeah sorry I didn't watch it to the end before posting the comment noticed the tool rest switched sides at the end of the video

yea i had it ass backwards.
this is not a review its just me messing with it
Just saying you lathe is backwards you need the rest on the other side so the wood isn’t going up on you😊
I am looking to make pens and boughg this. Which mandrel would you consider purchasing? I have tried a few but none of them have worked thanks!
rocker 3/4 shoulder or WEN pen turning mt1
Idk how but this setup is still better than mine rn i have an older sears and robux one
Use the bull gauge for ruffing in
I want to put a chuck on this. Do you know the size of the adapter
Off the top of my head I would say I do not know if I ever did that thing out of storage I'll let you know contact the manufacturer if you can
The spindle is an m18x2.5. It’s metric and most chucks are 1”x8tpi. So you need an adapter.
Its garbage
Don't buy and save your mony
Big mistake I did
weird mine works great
What would you suggest for the price?
