When I first fought the Ethereal Queen, on Galaxy, I was surprised about how right some people were about how she was simpler to beat than Lenneth, who is before her. However, that doesn't mean she isn't a cakewalk. The Uber-Fayt strategy is the only way to take her on without taking any damage whatsoever aside from her AAA, but as far as I know it works on Galaxy, partially on Universe, and not at all on 4D. So get used to fighting her without it.
I only used two characters for this battle. Fayt and Cliff. Both on Manual, Fayt was the main attacker while Cliff was on the other side of the stage for bomb patrol, only when she started to do stuff like Binding Field or Celestial Star. The rest was have her use a weak attack to stun her with Fayt's AAA. Surprisingly beat her on my first attempt with that strategy.
“I am impressed that you made it this far.” “Perhaps you desire my orb? Within which, is sealed misfortune. Well, you may not have it. It is my plaything-not meant for handling by the likes of you. You do not have what it takes. Let us finish this right here.” “It is a bit confining here. This shall give us some more room.” “Let us finish this now!”
@OgnarPliskin It's the hidden track in Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria. You can only hear it randomly if you hold L2 during battles after you've beaten the game.
@@saintsocramnymaia5511 Nibelung Valesti! Also, she doesn't appear in Golden Sun. However, she does appear in Infinite Undiscovery and Judas Code; pretty much almost every Tri-Ace game. It would have been sick if she appeared in Resonance of Fate.
I remember exchanging my party's skills for the HP/MP damage skill. Forgot the name. Lost the flashy effects and attack names being shouted, but it made for a fun slugfest.
@ultmgammer Actually, I've heard 4 really dropped the ball after this game. I've been scared to play it since. This one's actually really underrated. One of my favourite RPG's I've played.
@menslady125 if the person shes targeting moves a certain distance from her she will cast supernova and i think that attack ignores defense which sucks and it takes up a large amount of the field X.X but she is staggered from attacks so you can juggle her around but when shes in rush mode, spam rush combos and you will be ok
Its speaks wonders about the fanbase of Star Ocean when everyone is smart enough to avoid directly replying to the troll, DFLOODyeaa. Anyways, I'm the idiot and I apologize. More importantly, great game and unbelievable work by Motoi Sakuraba. I still have to say I enjoy the characters and storyline of Star Ocean the Second Story a bit more, but Till the End of Time is still worth playing today.
***** So much wrong in that statement. The Valkyrie Profile 1 version is differrent, as is the Star Ocean 2 and 4 version. Haven't gotten to the Star Ocean 5 version though.
***** It plays in almost every tri-Ace game... this version plays in Star Ocean 3 and Valkyrie Profile 2 (and Star Ocean 5 for that matter). There are subtle differrences in the Star Ocean 2's and Valkyrie Profile 1's version and Star Ocean 4 uses a completely differrent version.
Gabriel Celeste was easy af. Like... I had 2400 defense AND 4000 attack WITH immunity to paralysis. Literally took him out without taking any physical damage with only Fayt at lv 105 in the span of 10 mins.
@ultmgammer I never said you stick to the mainstream. I'm saying that maybe my tendency to like the more-hated ones of the games influences me here. "Other Versions" meant spin-offs and actual follow-ups. Again, I point to Mystic Quest as another 'version' of FF, as is all the numbered ones. That being said, Rhaspodia (AKA Suikoden Tactics) had a good storyline, but only had the basic storyline down of the rest of the Suikoden games. Kind of like this and SO games. And I like both.
@ultmgammer A little unfair. I have SO 1, and I'm playing it. I like it, too. I dunno if i do moreso than SO 3, but it's not horrible either. And I'm saying you said it sucks. I'm just saying that this game is REALLY underrated. But then again, I'm not one to like the 'mainstream' games, or the version of the game that everyone else likes. Case in point, I think one of the best Final Fantasy games was Mystic Quest.
Just use stun bombs. around 40 of them and stun her when she gets close to the character your are in control of. In my case; I used Maria to run around and use items to heal my party while Fayt and Roger whacked her HP down. Quite easy, but a little tedious.
I liked 4 and 3, 3's invention system was pretty crappy and you didnt get a rez spell until disc 2 and thats if you stuck with Sophia and levelled her up, 4 was pretty great hands down, then again I got international, where Freyas even HARDER! =D but it sucks that I couldnt play on 4D mode until I got a lot of battle trophies = \ I havent been able to find a copy of 2 or download 1 for the emulator, Tri-Ace has an "If it aint broke dont fix it" policy going, and it seems to be suiting them.
How we learned to stop caring, and love the stun bomb =p
this game brings back memories, so many. I could listen to this forever - till the end of time

Amazing. Especially 1:17.
Classic Sakuraba.

Ethereal Queen needs to be the Final Boss in the next tri-ace game
@OgnarPliskin It's the hidden track in Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria. You can only hear it randomly if you hold L2 during battles after you've beaten the game.
May the grace of Apris be with you
Holy frick that Hammond.
通常戦闘曲もいいけどコレもかっこいい!
A version of this track is also played in, Radiata Stories.
And golden sun and valkaria and many other games

star ocean 1 was great for it's time and it's my personal favorite too.
I remember exchanging my party's skills for the HP/MP damage skill. Forgot the name. Lost the flashy effects and attack names being shouted, but it made for a fun slugfest.
I never fight any of the super bosses fairly, I always just use Peppita and cheese them to death =p
i love this game and this theme i beat this game like atleast 20 times thanks for the theme
@ultmgammer

I think I prefer the Radiata Stories rendition of this song, myself.
To my side my noble Einherjer

@2257turtle:
Also good advice. Thank you.
My fayt with boots of prowess and high def made her do 0 damage 😂😂😂
Watch yourselves, people. I'm afraid this Ethereal Queen is tougher than she looks!
Loved this game, but I got to the point where I couldn't take the game seriously, after the arena.
@2257turtle:
Good advice.
No this is cyril theme. Ten wise men.
I can't find the Valkyrie Profile 2 Silmeria Chiptune version of this...and it's not in Star Ocean Blue Sphere either.
yeah but it's not so easy when you aren't used to swapping characters>>...
It's not on the VP2 OST discs too! :(

"GARBAGE!" whoops wrong game...
@2257turtle:
What?! Oh... that is NOT cool!
Golden Sun Dark Dawn anyone?
Same composer
The Amazing Guy
I know but... it really has a GS vibe in it :3
~.~ Tri emblem uber to win, Took forever to save money for them... Loot items pretty shiity though.
The last hopes ethereal queen was hardly solely because their are no freaking save points.
Is it just me or does this sound awfully similar to Golden sun dark Dawn's boss theme?
Same composer, and i think same company
Also the composer has worked in many jrpg games , chances are if uve heard a similar tune in a japanese game he most likely made it and remixed it
Ooh
