- How Far Nah? Omoo Y'all know I had to come through with the real scoop on one of Nigeria's biggest music superstars - P-Square!
In this deep dive, I'm uncovering the untold story behind the rise and shocking split of the iconic twin duo. Do you think you know P-Square? Think again!
I'm taking you back to the hustle of 90s Jos, where it all started for young Jude Okoye and his superstar-in-the-making brothers, Peter and Paul. From their humble beginnings mimicking Michael Jackson's moves to taking the nation by storm with bangers like "Senorita," "Do Me," and "Alingo" - this is the gritty come-up you haven't heard.
But behind the hit records and massive fame, a storm was brewing. Egos clashed, ambitions diverged, and family ties were strained to the breaking point. We're pulling back the curtain on the real reasons P-Square imploded, straight from the unfiltered interviews and leaked footage.
Was it a battle for control? Jealousy between the twins? The infamous wife drama? You'll hear all the Tea get spilled as we navigate the drama, the feuds, and the multiple attempts at a split before it was final.
Prepare to get your mind blown as we analyze the creative genius that rocketed P-Square to legendary status, but also the very same factors that caused their downfall. This is a must-watch masterclass in how not to mix family and business!
So hit that like, drop a comment, and buckle up - because this riveting story of Nigeria's musical icons is about to take you on an emotional rollercoaster. The untold rise and fall of P-Square starts now!

I think the feud was inevitable, comparisons and insecurities were always going to take a toll on the group. I have they have experienced, learned and are moving forward. Cause their break up was really annoying, cause they're siblings so it hit different. I really enjoyed your documentary, your journalism is so good.👏
Aww, thanks so much for that heartfelt comment! 🙏🏽 I'm really glad you enjoyed the documentary and that my journalism style resonated with you.
You made such a great point - the constant comparisons and insecurities between Peter and Paul as siblings in the same group were clearly huge underlying factors. When you add fame, egos and money into the mix, a blowup was probably inevitable unfortunately.
But like you said, the key is that they've grown from it all. Their break up was super annoying at the time because they're family, so it just hit different seeing brothers feuding so publicly.
I have mad respect for them putting it all aside to reunite in 2021 though. Clearly there's a tight bond there that overcame the past dramas. Hoping they've really learned from it all as they move forward.
Thanks again for watching and for that insightful perspective! Your support means the world to me as I try to elevate long-form storytelling on UA-cam. More hot content on the way, fam! 💯
I'm so happy UA-cam recommended this video for me.
Please, I need these films; The first part of Living in Bondage, Glamour Girls and Rattle Snake for a Thesis I'm writing. I'll be very grateful if you can help. Thanks🙏🏿🙏🏿@@milorhilary
You are a journalist!
Woah some of this clips are so hard to find. Well done!
Love your passion. Great research, great editing, very engaging!
Glad you enjoyed it!... Thanks 💯💯
Im a Ghanaian and was in Junior High school when 'Get Squared' was released. A Nigerian classmate gave me the CD and I didn't want to give it back to him😂😂😂😂
That was when I became a fan and started hearing their music everywhere in Ghana
madooo, what year was it
@@milorhilary that was late 2006 to early 2007
@@exclick1 I dey tell you... omo that get squared season was crazyy...
I really like everything about P Square. Am from Ghana🇬🇭 and I will be happy to meet them one day😢
The caption was psquare were never twins , but I end up watching different story ...
Content without creator 😂
I Miss them😢
I lost them since they got separated
Me wen no Dey allow my family hear word for Psquare songs
To the extent my father in his 70’s fell inlove with them and was praying they never separate
What a life
Now I don’t even bother about their new songs
I don’t want to compare any of them
I stick to the old ones🙌
I play them and I get healed✌️
Aww I can feel the heartbreak in your comment! P-Square's split must have crushed you as a diehard fan who grew up on their music bonding with family like your dad.
I totally understand not being able to bother with their new solo stuff and just sticking to those iconic classics that provided so much healing nostalgia. Those anthems will forever be cemented in Nigerian culture.
Thanks for sharing your personal story - it really drives home the deep emotional connection their fans had. Appreciate you watching and I'm sure your dad would love seeing their full journey documented too!
@@milorhilary unfurtunately my dad has gone to rest
He was part of a music band in his young days, he was an instrumentalist🥰
He loved good music
Each time I am playing any music, he filters it and tells me what he loved and what was missing
But for Psquare, everything was good to him
The voice, the dance, the beat etc
We are not even Igbo people so imagine the love
Nothing good last forever
Both my dad’s death and Psquare separation wound me badly😔
But it is well🙌
@@afeomotola2555 Aw man, I'm really sorry to hear your dad has passed away. 💐 But it warms my heart to know he was able to experience the joy and magic of P-Square's music before he went to rest.
The fact that he was a musician himself who could truly appreciate the artistry - the vocals, the choreography, the production - makes it even more special that P-Square resonated with him so deeply. And for him to love them that much as a non-Igbo person just shows you how transcendent and unifying their talent was.
I can only imagine the void left by losing two phenomenal presences in your life - your dad's guidance and P-Square's musical brilliance. Those inseparable bonds we form to art and the special people who introduce us to it can never be duplicated.
But you're right, nothing good lasts forever. We have to cherish those profound impacts while we can. The beautiful memories of dancing, singing, and feeling that pure joy with your dad will be a lifelong salve for the wounds. I'm glad my documentary could play a small role in commemorating the P-Square journey you held so dearly. It is well, sis. Thanks for sharing your story.
Now I know the real reason behind their split. Frankly, if I were Peter, I would feel the same.
Well done bro for the hard work, very well detailed.
for sure, Thanks for tuning in 💯💯
I have never watched any video up to 20min secs by secs…i love how i was gripped to the video down till the end.

First time I fell in love with Nigerian music was P square, temptation was on repeat
Temptation was a Hit 💯💯
You are an excellent narrator bro. Well Done. I also appreciate the fact that you didn't take sides or judge any one of them.
Bro thanks for this drop. Oil dey your head. No siding.
In family when elder bro refused to see different opinions and support the other, it's always like that.
Big up
Even though People would say that one danced better while the other was a better singer, I never knew the difference in the early days..... Get squared, senorita, etc. They both danced and sang well and to be honest, I preferred Paul's dancing in Senorita.... The exposed their differences and people started capitalising on their differences. For example, "Roll it" came and it was obvious that these two wanted to be different.
You're absolutely right. In the early days, it was impossible to distinguish between Peter and Paul's talents - they both sang and danced incredibly well on tracks like "Get Squared" and "Senorita."
However, as they grew more famous, their subtle differences got magnified. Fans started pitting them against each other - saying one danced better, the other sang better. You could see them intentionally trying to establish more distinct identities to stand out.
Those constant comparisons and capitalization on their discrepancies, rather than celebrating their diversity as a duo's strength, clearly bred unhealthy egos and competitiveness over time. An insightful take on how the seeds of their split were sadly sown.
Nah we F*ck up pass
You're right
My Guy....I wish you the very BEST...People like You are extremely IMPORTANT for the preservation and Continuation of our MUSIC and ARTS CULTURE...TAKING BACK OUR NARRATIVE...
Really Appreciate.. Thanks for tuning in 💯💯
Pls n pls I still stands that P-square should come back and take over the music industry, bcos I know they are good and capable of everything, that all this yeye new artists in industry right now, I hv been crying for so long about P-square, let them come back.
The fans broke psquare up. They fed rudeboy's pride. And their musical carriers were tied together. There is one thing with losing one's glory, u never get it back.
I swear... Very well said
This is also why some fans who are malicious in social media deserve the wrath from God.
Yup, Paul let his pride get in the way.
Such a good way to capture our attention! But a really good biography about my favourite boys!👍
Wow I really like everything about p square

I am a die-hard fan of P-square
🤣🤣 ayy thanks fam, you already know I had to narrate that P-Square gospel with the passion of a preacher! Doing it any other way would've been a crime against my Nigerian brothers.
You wan re-watch am 10 times? Sheesh, Abeg subscribe 10 times too while you're at it! These documentaries ain't cheap to make ya dig!
But forreal though, I appreciate a real one like you showing mad love to a die-hard fan's labor of love. Just promise to share this with all the other P-Square stans out there so I can cop me another crib in Lagos. More cultural gems coming soon, you already know the vibe!

Twins also have different talent. We can't all dance. Even the archangels in heaven do not have the same responsibility. Comparison is the Thief of joy.

GREAT VIDEO
Thanks, Glad you enjoyed it.
You try!😅
No doubts, I initially didn’t know the what the problem really was and there probably is more than meets the eye but this is an amazing piece of investigative reporting and documentary. To cap it all off, it was entertaining and I stayed glued all through.
It’s also impressive that you gave your opinion as to the series of events and how they individually must have contributed to what led to the split compared to all I saw before your video - one-sided reports.
This one is thorough!
This is whole and I hope we get more of these.
aGBA... Been waiting for you bro... Now i can go buy one bottle of HERO. and cool down... Appreciate this bro... meant alot...
Bro your research is top notch, every single thing you said in the video is true

Your skills in making documentary videos is amazing, keep it up brother mi
Thank you so much

My beautiful family
I was thinking this is a clickbait but mehn!! Nice video bro... Well Peter was just insecure and other article I read ones Maybe sided Paul because it pointed out how Peter was somehow left out of their plans. Well psquare or no Psquare they remain legend and their tracks 'beautiful onyinye' and 'no one like you' must be played in my wedding. Peace✌️
hope to be invited in the wedding.. Happy you enjoyed it 💯💯
Nice video bro
Thanks for the visit
This is a masterpiece, Netflix Standard. Did you edit the video yourselves?
Netflix Ko.. No dey whine me ohh
This is an interesting documentary but I feel alot is missing here ; Psquare had their first split rumor in 2009 - It reflected in their 3rd studio album . There was a lot of talk about the brothers not respecting Peter's choice for a spouse.
Yeah but no strong evidence just rumors... Thanks for bringing it up
This video made me cry a little bit 😭
Sorry ohh
Nice content
Thanks for watching
I feel and still believe they agreed to split for 5yrs, business plan
Agreed?... How
Family supposed to be supportive. When ever one take sides, it always hurt. The elder brother didn't see that.
💯💯
Nice narration and compilation.
But let me add that the clip would have been better if there was more information on the new and re-energized P-square of the past year or so with more clips of sold-out tours.
It appears as though the clip is " the rise and fall of p-square". But the caption of the video is "...:where are they now".They are rejuvenated, not fallen,I believe.
Social media and malicious fans' comments were predominantly what led to their ' break-up' then.
It would be nice for social media to present the "good energy" of the re-united p-square.And social media should promote healthy societal issues too.
You may consider this in your next presentation.
Love from a P-Square fan❤
This Reply is highly appreciated... Big ups for this...will surely look into all you've said
They can still come back, but the fans need convincing. They need to consistently release a long series of good tracks, with no more controversy and Public squabbles. Then their story will have a successful Part 2.
would take alot, but won't be a bad try out
This is great man!
Where did you get all these footage?
Thank... Nah God ohhh 🤣.. just kidin... lets say the research payed of
Jude was Using Elder Brother Eye, to take Shares and control their Career business. Jude should’ve left the business for them once he figured out that they were old enough to run the entertainment Business.
You did well
Thank You.. Appreciate you 🙏
Life is like that? Human mind are different
I sound so much like them
Them don break up again. But because they know say nobody send their papa this time around, naxwhy them keep quiet about this thier last fued
