    Sir at 35:03 h(bar) jo hai woh centroid ka distance from free surface hota hai and vertical rod ke case mein it will be h/2 but in case of this inclined rod it will be (h/2)*sin(theta)

    The hydrostatic water pressure acts only on one side and to a depth of 12 m from the top of a dock gate which is reinforced with three horizontal beams. (i) Calculate the load taken by each beam. (ii) Locate the positions of beams in order that each carries an equal load.

      No, it depends on centroid, for that body should be uniform like in this question body have same width of 1 unit throughout its length.

    Sir,I watch ur video for most of my theoretical problems.But i face problem while taking note or screenshot (to take note later) because of the random movement of the camera.And while u r writing, it would be better for us if u give us some space to take down to note even for some second (so that we can pause the video).     The gate starts tipping at (h-3) metres. So the final answer is 9 - 3 = 6 metres.

    Sir...how did u suppose its rectangle. For calculating moment of inertia....its not given in question...

      the width is unity and the it's an inclined plane with a length. So it is a rectangle.

      watch SOM playlist, also in previous semester u must have done that!
      First Momemt= Integration yda = y'. A :: y'= centroid distance, A Area
      Second Moment = Integration y^2da = Simply Moment of Intertia from the axis

    Sir, when the plane is vertical below free surface liquid then the we take h bar =h/2.
    So how you take h bar =h/2 in inclined plane.
    Pls reply sir..

      Along the direction of plane the centroid will be at AC/2
      consider the centroid is at the depth of h bar from the free surface
      you have AC/2 so by trigonometry you can calculate the h bar

      F1 is due to h-3 depth of fluid where as f2 is due to only 3 m depth( in any case f1 might become more or less than f2)

    Sir apne Jo 1st numerical kiye..usme ek tha ki "F1X1 > F2X2 " gate will tip ,
    After this concept fir bole limit case main
    F1X1 = F1X1
    The gate will tip
    Humko samajh main nehi araha hai..
    Dono condition ek jese ho gaye?

      sir told that the limiting case f1x1=f2x2 i,e if f2x2 is greater than f1x1 then gate will tip... as u said f1x1=f2x2 gate will not tip here
