    Just a couple things you should note or add.
    Saying weather or not it can charge by USB PD (which I think it can) is a big selling point for some as it means can carry one USB charger for phone and laptop when not needing full power (eg day at school)
    And in the battery section come up with some form of non gaming test like UA-cam playback or web browsing. Far more people use these laptops on battery like normal laptops rather than gaming on battery.

    The ROG M series is fantastic. The previous gen (M15 with a 2070) was the sleeper hit of it's generation. Everyone was going gaga over the previous gen G14, and it was a great system, but the M15 was just amazing, so it's no surprise that this new gen M16 is a beast as well. Asus marketed that G series more, so the M15 kind of fell through the cracks for the "more mainstream" tech reviewers online. I was considering the G14 back then, but my workflow requires Thunderbolt (and the G series didn't support it) so I ended up getting an M15 and I don't regret it for one second. I will absolutely be getting another M series ROG laptop when this one eventually becomes obsolete.
    TL;DR: ROG M series is a beast, and I recommend it over the G series any day (unless you want a more compact system)

    • @Shadowwe1
      @Shadowwe1 3 роки тому

      The main advantage for the g series is the significant amount of battery life which is crucial for a portable laptop.

    • @Aligatorxx3
      @Aligatorxx3 2 роки тому

      I bought the newer G14 because it was cheaper and I wanted 32GB RAM which is even more expensive, had the animetrix display and the AMD chip is supposed to be more power efficient.
      But now looking back I would prefer the M16 (although it hadn't come out when I bought my G14). Small bezels with nice 16:10 aspect ratio, has a webcadm, rtx 3070 is a nice upgrade with 2G VRAM over the 3060, soft touch keys, bigger screen makes it easier to work on when on the go. Also, I'm guessing it's actually possible to game on using the keyboard. When I tried to game on the keyboard it was so hot that I physically could not use it....so frustrating especially when the hottest area is around the wasd keys

    I have had this laptop for some months now. Here are the pros and cons.
    CONS:
    -gets very hot. Only solution is to turn graphics way down or buy a laptop cooler
    -no display port. Have to get a converter if needed.
    -The lights are noticeable if you lay down next to the laptop watching a movie. Tho it hasn't bothered me much.
    -everything is some form of black. You will see smudges and fingerprints on the keys and sides and track pad. Wipe it down once a day and you'll be good.
    PROS:
    -when its not to hot to run it this machine can make a game look very pretty
    -the fingerprint scanner is far more useful then I expected
    -while nothing special the keyboard is easy to use and Isnt to cluttered. The hotkeys it does have are very useful
    -the speakers are good enough that I find myself unplugging the headphones more often then I would've thought
    -the software it comes with makes it easy to monitor the performance and heat with a single press of a button, and change the keyboard color
    -the track pad is smooth and never catches my finger. It is also quite large.
    -probably the most important, this thing is a beast. A great monitor and great PC wrapped in one. If you can get a laptop cooler you'll have very little to complain about.

      Do you still turn down graphics settings with the laptop cooler?

    • @kiritadoshi
      @kiritadoshi 2 роки тому

      @@frankfasulo9550 Depends on the game and if I need to overclock or not. Generally I can play at high graphics and not overclock, the laptop still gets a lil warm ofc. But it never gets so hot that it starts lagging my game. The laptop is near 4k quality and 165hz. Almost any machine would have trouble running that sort of monitor on high settings without getting a little warm sometimes. So sometimes I still do, but it mostly depends on the game. And how many things im running in the background. Which is another pro/con with this laptop btw. Because of the type of CPU it has its not the best for gaming. What I mean by that is the CPU is optimized for multitasking, but there are other cpus that are better for single task oriented uses. So essentially gaming and nothing else. But if youre running spotify, discord, the game, a chrome tab or two, ons, etc, like I am. Then this CPU can handle that. Its a tradeoff like most hardware. Im sorry I started rambling about other shit, but I sort nerd out when it comes to this stuff. I think the best way to answer your question is to say that I never turn down my graphics more then if I had the same computer but in a well cooled desktop. The laptop cooler did the trick well enough that I can use this as my main driver.

      @@coapa_760 There is an hdmi and two usb c. Personally I have a port hub that extends my usb c. Gives me some display port, hdmi, usb, etc. And I have a usb c to display port so I can play vr. Yes its a bit inconvenient, but if youre gonna use a laptop as your main pc then a port hub is damn near necessary anyway.

    One area that Asus f***ed up on there 2021 gaming laptops is wiring the hdmi port to the IGPU instead of the nvidia... so basicially you get the nvidia Optimus performance penalty and limits the hdmi to 2.0 instead of 2.1... even if you use a displayport/usb c hdmi 2.1 adaptor, there is zero way to get vrr on an hdmi 2.1 display... also the internal screen has no advanced optimus, just normal optimus... so less performance, which is just stupid considering razer and lenovo laptops use either advanced optimus or mux switches, and get hdmi 2.1

      In terms of performance Legion 7 will be better (same specs compared), because the cooling system on the lenovo is better and it can handle a higher TDP + no mux switch on Asus wich tend to lower FPS if your goal is gaming. In terms of screen comparison, I am not sure but I would say the two screens are probably the same just calibration is different. So at the end of the day if your goal is better FPS then go Lenovo, if not then it's just a design choice. Ah also almost forgot, also battery is better thanks to AMD on lenovo
