Airventure Oshkosh Camping Meals - Waco Taco

It's time to kick the tires and light the fires! We're on the highway to the hunger zone! We're sharing a few of our favorite Airventure camping meals. Our first recipe is the Waco Taco!
Waco Taco
Olive or vegetable oil
Small Onion - Chopped
1lb Ground Beef or Turkey
Salt and Pepper to taste
1 can of diced tomatoes with or without chilis
1 packet of Taco Seasoning (or your own special taco blend)
Corn Chips or Tortilla Chips
Your favorite taco toppings (cheese, black beans, jalapenos, salsa, sour cream or Greek yogurt, etc)
1. Heat your grill or get your campfire going.
2. Once your heat source is ready, add a cast iron skillet directly to your heat source.
3. Add a tablespoon or two of oil and let it heat up.
4. Add your chopped onions to the cast iron skillet.
5. Cook your onions until they turn translucent and gain a bit of color.
6. Once cooked through, set aside.
7. Add your meat choice to the cast iron skillet and cook through.
8. Once cooked, add the diced tomatoes and heat them up.
9. Add your taco seasoning, salt and pepper to taste.
10. Once your meat is seasoned well you can take it off the heat.
11. Grab a large cup and add your corn or tortilla chips. Add a layer of your taco meat. Then add your favorite taco toppings! You have your very own Waco Taco!
