Mr. Uneducated, Quantum computers is not a replacement for classic computers. Moreover Quantum Computers are still in research phase and they are only used to solve some complex problems. They cannot be used or run like classical computers we have.

Infrastructure is run by taxpayers' money by Govt. Private contractors should not steal taxpayers' money, which will lead to poor road quality and the collapse of bridges/roads. Indian judiciary is ineffective If roads/ bridges collapse, taxpayers will end the business of the thief- contractors.

Please don't take my comment as criticism.
I think it will not be a viable option to develop our own OS considering the following issues.
- Even though if we develop our own OS, it will never be truly 'Made in India'. Since the core component, which is Kernel, had been developed in the US, only the top few layers will be developed here.
- Cost: If we want to compete with present OS, we need to spend tens of Billions of dollar forefront, even if we spend this high there is no guarantee for break-even. Data centres, developers, R&D etc will be costly.
- Time: It will most probably take 10 years for the complete development of OS.
- Adaptability: Most people won't be able to adapt it in their daily life even though they say so. People are familiar with Windows/macOS/Linux and will prefer it. Also these OS serve a lot of purpose in many industries. Linux is mostly used for development and in running data center servers. Windows is useful for office work, daily task and general purposes. MacOS is widely used in graphics design, development, movies production, editing etc. Let's say out of 1.4 Billion, only 750 million can afford a computer. Out of these, professionals will chose according to their work, students will chose according to their studies the list goes on, where the market will be limited to few millions people will use it just for fun. If we are targeting global audience, then the scenario is different.
- Price: India is a price sensitive market and most people will not pay for OS. We can see that many people are already using the pirated version of WindowsOS, the same will happen to it. It will be difficult to make a profit out of it.
- Software Compatibility: Developers will need to change to complete codebase. Most popular softwares will not be available to download in it. Programming language, DevOps tools and development process has to be completely change. Large corporations can change their codes, however small and mid companies probably won't do this.
We can, although, try to develop our own Linux distribution for military purposes. Commercial purposes still can be challenging and risky.
@@Ethereal1972 We can use RSC-5 architecture. Or ARM is there. I am not saying that we have to design our own architecture. We just have to make an operating system that supports other architectures like RSC-5 & ARM. Like HarmonyOS of Huawei🙃

As you said that we don't need to develop our own architecture. This means you're probably talking about distribution OS, am I right? If so, the market literally flooded with lots of distribution. Linux distribution keeps releasing then and now. Talking of HarmornyOS, it is based on Linux Kernel (UNIX), similar to what we have like OneUI, BlueOS, NothingOS, etc. How will it be implemented in hardware ? And if it's just another distribution, why would some use that instead of Ubuntu, or say any other OS? In smartphone, every manufacturer has their own OS, and Google/Apple is literally making it hard to let users download and install other OS. Honestly, majority of people doesn't even have technical knowledge on how to change/install custom OS.
IMO, there is literally no need of just another Distro. If it is a complete design from scratch, then it is good. I would like to hear your thoughts

In late 2019, Google claimed that it had managed to solve a problem that would take 10,000 years for the world's fastest supercomputer within just 200s using a quantum computer.
