They got the 1912 right for New Mexico, then for the NY coin they changed Mexico to York but forgot to change the 1912. The Mass. one was interesting because it was supposed to be the real coin but the 1889 demonstrated that it was also drawn by the graphics department.
I noticed that too and thought that had to be wrong, no way Mass became a state that late, plus they use the real image from the quarter, and Conan is from Mass and they always use that image at the start of the new quarter segment so it’s weird no one caught it unless they did and thought it would be funny….. Also, didn’t the real South Dakota quarter wind up being pretty much the same lol
It actually looked like the middle portion of this video. Where the black bars were on top and bottom. Since SD tvs couldn't handle the full size of the HD broadcast they would squeeze the 16:9 HD video down to fit inside of a 4:3 SD ratio which added black bars to the top and bottom of the SD broadcast but allowed you to see the full space of the HD broadcast, just shrunken down.
Thanks I knew that wasn't always the case for other broadcast which would just show the middle like normal with no black bars & HD would have additional things on the side, like wrestling
16:9 Cone-Dog FTW!
History nerd here. Some of those dates on those quarters were way off!. 1889 for Massachusetts? 1912 for New York? Wow....

John C. Reilly…He’s FANTASTIC!!!
So when then aired and you had an SD tv did you not see the border jokes?
