I just found my Adams Bar t-shirt from 2012. Good to see it is still going. Been there, Don Det.

I was born in Laos and left the country during the Vietnam War at a very young age.
Don’t know much about Laos, only a very vague memory of the town I was born.
I am very happy to see that my birth country has all these beautiful landscapes.
Will surely tour Laos one day in the future.
    Thank you for your videos

Where there street dogs on the less touristic island? I had a scary encounter with a scorpion that was standing just next to my feet when I was talking to somebody in Nong Khiaw and a few hours later I literally tripped over a big snake that was tangled around my leg in Muang Noi. 2 scary encounters in half a day, but street dogs are what worry me the most

That sounds scary indeed. In Dom Som, the less touristic island, there are dogs too like everywhere in Southeast Asia, but as they are in the villages it is hard to tell if they are street dogs or belong to the people living there. They didn’t bother us at all. There are also hens, roosters, cows, goats, and buffaloes here sometimes on the streets too. This island is very rural and lots of nature which is why we liked it so much.

Hi :) I'm just thinking about simillar beginning of trip to Lao from Siem Reap. Have you got booked boat from Nakasong to Island? Or there is a lot of them? And how later you go to Pakse? It was maybe possible by boat?
After your video I'm starting to think thak it is good not to skip those islands 😊

Hello ☺️ you can book the transport from Siem Reap to Si Phan Don online or from a transport company in Siem Reap (we booked with Asia Van Transfer), and it included the boat transfer. The boat departs every hour or whenever the boat is full. You definitely shouldn’t skip Si Phan Don when you are in Laos, it’s still one of our favourite places. To go to Pakse, you can book transfer with people on the main island, it includes the boat transfer to Nakasong and about 3 hours minivan to Pakse. There is no boat directly to Pakse that we know of. Let us know if you have any other questions and we hope you have a great time there.
