The sad thing about this situation is that there are plenty of fathers that would gladly keep the child and NOT receive child support and GIVE the mom her freedom. However a large portion of mothers would never agree to that because that leverage emotionally and financially they wouldn’t have and also the fact that the father could be a better parent they don’t want to admit and it proves they aren’t as great as they say they are.

She not accounting for the dude who have 50% custody but STILL have to pay child support. A lot of fathers have to FIGHT for custody of their kids, my buddy Dan had to do this. So it's not like dudes are paying child support to get out of taking care of kids, most of them want to be in the child's life, but women try the hardest to prevent them from being there. They weaponize the kids to hurt the man.

I'm so sick and tired to the "dead beat" dad trope that they put on us black men, when in truth a lot of black women are the ones blocking the father from seeing his kids.

I have joint custody, and I pay child support.
I have mad close to or just above six figures for the past 15 years. The 25K a year after taxes, and having to care for, and feed, my children when I do have them, hardly allows the disposable income to be “free” ~ it also makes dating nearly impossible. Any healthy relationship will be difficult and take many sacrifices on both sides.
Free time equals working additional hours, or finding an alternative hustle. It’s about developing bonds with my seeds, teaching them, instilling discipline, handling my duty and responsibility as a father, and not about a got dam brunch.
She is the poster Baby mom and reason why men choose to stay away and hope that they can establish a relationship with their child after the child is grown where she can't interfere and cause problems.
There are a lot of men who would gladly take full custody of their children, if they could get it. There are many women who use child support as a means to supplement their income, and they would never give custody over to the father, as that would require THEM to pay the father instead of receiving that money. There are many men who would forego receiving money from the mother just to be free of the child support payments and to have their kids with them.

I told my ex I didn't want to have kids. She told me she felt the same and said she has IUD. But then she got pregnant. I'm being a man and taking care of my son, I have half custody and still paying child support cause she can just say that she's making less than me. She told the court she's only making 1300 a month and the court didn't even ask for proof. I have to prove my income 20 different ways. The fathers still get the shit end of the stick.

I believe I have the answers to the age old question of why many (not all) women choose to have children with no good men....women often choose these types of men because it gives them an out to solely blame the man for failure of the relationship. Choose who you have kids with WISELY. My son's mom was a single mom of one when I met her, and I was a single dad of one kid. When she and I split, she had my son for 6yrs and then I took him for the next 7yrs (2nd grade to 9th grade). When he turned 13yrs old, he went back to her to finish high school. I raised him to be a young man and now he was with him mom to help her with her two younger sons and to be a big brother. We never asked for support back and forth (but I paid when I was ordered to as a toddler until I got custody). We always put my son first and that's why he thinks she and I are best friends. LOL! We're not, but we act like it around him...always have.
