I'm so surprised so many people watch these kinds of films. One of my very first Chinese kung fu movies I watched in the early 80s was Five Deadly Venoms and I've been hooked ever since. I even know more than a few Chinese words and phrases.

@@Sir_Richard_Stewart I've seen it already, which there aren't very many that I haven't seen. I've had over 150 VHS tapes of kung fu films before. It's the newer fantasy ones I haven't seen yet, but I've seen all of Jet Li, Donnie Yen, Gordon Liu, Michelle Yeoh, and Tony Jaa movies. Oh, I've also seen many of the Chinese dramas like Ashes of Love, Heavenly Sword and Dragon Sabre and Condor Heroes. I'm a true fan.

It was while watching Swordsman III that it finally dawned on me that Chinese Wu-shu films fit firmly into the category of fantasy, and with that I realized that in fact there were a lot of good fantasy movies out there. They just weren't being made by Hollywood.
As to the detractors, I'd rather watch wire work than rushed CGI any day.
I just watched the original Ghost in the Shell 1995 on Tubi. Even for today that's good anime!
There are some decent (and also a lot of bad) movies of various types coming out of Bollywood and Nollywood.
Who said there was wire works in this movie. Didn't you know when you master yourself the elements will be understood and how they can benefit your movements.

THIS^^^ Was one of the BEST shows to ever come out of China!... "Sword Snow Stride"!!! I didn't think they made Kung Fu jawns like this anymore!
Watched it recently, it was good but with one of the biggest let-down endings I have seen in cdrama, Xu Feng didn't get a chance to enter the final phase and fight the top dude, and he also never saw Jiang Ni at the end scene 😢

Wire-Fu is always hysterical 😂 It's like some exaggerated anime brought to life. There's only a small number of movie directors and kung fu fx guys that can make it seem believable. As for this clip, it's hilarious but entertaining.

Even within it's own premises it's completely unbelievable. When the child shows its superpowers and just twirls the attackers around in the air, how can the attackers act like nothing had happened? This film has no respect for itself.

damn it after the first couple of seconds i couldn't stop.! I needed to se what happens. Guess i miss watching good Kung-fu movies.
I love me some old Kung Fu movies but when they get to flying and floating in the air for 1/2 hour. I get less and less interested. I still end up watching more then I should because usually there are some really good scenes to help ease the pain.

That is all that matters, I only wish the subtittles were better. Too sporadic to keep up with the story, but its OK, the visuals and fights are amazing. Grew up loving the older Chinese Kung Fu movies that we could only find in Chinatown in D.C. with hella horrible subtitles....lol

I miss the old King Fu series when fighting was a form of defense and seldom used unless truly needed.
The "Gung" Fu of the popular screen actors was les ridiculous than this. David Carradine and Bruce Lee were much better to watch.

Realmente nunca abran películas mejores que las de Bruce Lee...el resto siempre resultan muy fantaciosas e irreales, y las actuales mucha muestra de piruetas innecesarias. Si deben entrenarse bastante para lograr esas escenas, Pero resultan inútiles en combates reales. Así que Bruce Lee siempre será insuperable en todo aspecto Marcial y de combate...

Las peliculas de Bruce Lee tambien eran fantasias, luchar contra 30 hombres jajajaja con suerte el mas experto podria luchar contra 3 que no esten muy entrenados, asi es que, el que usted le Guste Bruce Lee, no quiere decir que todo lo demas sea malo, aparte de eso, sin desmercerlo, jamas se conocio realmente si era capaz de enfrentarse a alguien en un combate real, de sanda u otro estilo, el unico video que existe, es mas una muestra que un combate, donde un oponente quiciera golpearlo de verdad. asi es que la fantasia esta en su cabeza, salga de ese paradigma y àbrase a disfrutar otras peliculas màs, por otro lado, una pelicula de artes marciales no tiene porque se realista, puede ser mitologia China, o de lo que sea.

I know, that Mandarin is hard to translate. I tried to understand a little. It‘s quite interesting this mélange of mysticism, religion snd superhumans. Everything seems to be a ritual. The good characters are beautiful, the bad ugly like in a fairytale. The fights look like dances and that is what I like about it most.
I love how being a "kung fu master" in movies like these doesn't even mean being a good martial artist, it just means having fucking magic powers 🤣

The cinematography is very breathtaking and beautiful it always amazes me the length of this art form they take further i think we become to expect it to some degree,but never what consistently produce.

I like watching eastern asian martial arts movies but what i think spoils them personally is the floating action. Even abilities too like we see here, they would make better films if kept realistic.
