Dear Chris,
I know I’m older, I know you don’t exist,
But in case you’re real, here it is, my Christmas list,
I know I don’t deserve gifts, or live a life of pure bliss,
But I am hurting, this is more like a desperate wish.
Please let me wake up feeling free on the 25th,
No more compulsions, let intrusive thoughts become a myth,
Let me be in the present with family, where I can happily live,
Let my presence present the real me, no worry to contest with.
That would be the best gift,
I hope you’re real, I feel disconnected,
And even if you are, I guess you’ll be busy with your check lists,
I know all about that, so don’t worry if you forget this.
