I'm hoping for all of the characters from the first NASB game to return. Hopefully they would show up in the next trailer alongside with revealing more new characters.
And as for the characters, i think they will use the Smash Bros formula by bring back the entire roster of the 1st game and continue that scenario for future installments.
Helga, Leonardo, Lincoln, Michelangelo, Sandy, Toph are in the NASB1 segment of the trailer, I'd think the probably wouldn't advertize unplayable characters in trailer for their new game. Leonardo and Lincoln were fighting on a seemingly remade Wild Waterfall, and CatDog's House was in the NASB1 segment as well. I'm a Leonardo main so I hope he returns, but I think all four of the turtles are probably joining instead of swapping 2 for 2.
I think shredder might end up becoming a boss in the campaign mode if he’s not a playable character, especially because the description of the video on gamemill’s UA-cam channel says that Vlad plasmius is the main villain for the campaign, so they may be using the villains of the shows as bosses.

If thats the case i can definitly expect the following characters as Bosses in the campaign mode which will be:
Plankton(Spongebob Squarepants), Possibly be playable as a unlockable character.
King Jellyfish(Spongebob Squarepants
Simon the Monster Hunter(AAAhh!!! Real Monsters)(IF Oblina returns thou)
Firelord Ozai (The Last Airbender), Possibly be playable as a unlockable character.

@blahrobbiejr if we had bosses for every character, which is probably unlikely then, for example SpongeBob has Plankton(Unlockable) Patrick Manray, and Sandy The Flying Dutchman

Lucy appeared in the trailer, but no Lincoln loud, hopefully they do bring back Lincoln give him a better move set, in the trailer. Most of the characters have better move sets. In one part I saw Nigel using boxing gloves for example
Yeah apparently the game is 98% made from scratch and all characters got reworked. It’s really exciting

I think helga will still be in because on the nickelodeon all star brawl 2 website at the bottom of the page it still has the hey arnold trademark.

Also just generally curious what route they'll take for stage themes, remixes of the original ones would be really cool. Ideally with an option to choose between the new and old version in case one of the remixes doesn't live up to the original version
Funny you should mention that, it has actually already been confirmed that we’ll be getting remixes of Jellyfish Fields and Sweet Dreams

I'd imagine that likely means we'll be getting remixes for the other stages
So, out of the other stages we already have confirmed, I'd say I'm most hyped for The Flying Dutchman and Harmonic Convergence themes
As for unconfirmed returns, I'd say Traffic Jam, Ghost Zone, and The Dump

I think Oblina and Shredder will be cut to sell as DLC or put in an update later. Oblina isn't high priority, and Shredder's moveset would need soooooo much reworking. He was jank as hell in the first game, I remember being so disappointed. He was super highly requested though, and he'd obviously sell some DLC to a lot of people. I believe pretty firmly that the rest will return.
Every character is returning dude. There's no reason to cut characters. Both games run on the same engine and came out in the same console generation. I want Timmy, Dora, El Tigre, Miko, Doug, Kitty Katswell

I wonder why did they have to add Hugh neutron in the first game in the first place How Jimmy was the protagonist in the series jimmy neutron while Hugh was basically the annoying dad
The same way for Helga how she was added in the first game instead of Arnold
Basically they did that because there was a ton of fan outcry for them to add Hugh, to the point where it was practically its own movement.
Whats the point of cutting shredder?he is i believe the only villain character in NASB(i may have forgot),and he should come baxk along with if they add other villains like plankton and others
tbh if they didn't bring lincoln back it would be like smash bros getting another sequel and bringing back every pokemon but Pikachu

i don't think anyones getting cut especially since They essentially kept the first game as base for the second one and they seem to have the same stages and same characters but updated but if i were a betting man toph, oblina and helga are out of the game

Well i do hope they actually made the movesets be UNIQUE than reusing the same animation of the strong weak attacks because it was COMPLETELY LAZY as heck.

I dont think Timmy is going to be added because of copy right issues, but the other 2 are most likely going to be added.
