    16:30 I've don't a lot of research on this topic. Where it came from and how we started to use it. I think cannabis used to be a vine. A lot of people don't know its related to strawberries as well as hops. The regions it thrived in started to become more wet and tropical and over time, it began to lift off the ground. Resulting in things like creeper sativa variants that grow weirdly outward. I imagine the early variants growing like larger ABC cannabis from Australia. When those branches touch the ground, they root like strawberries. Eventually they began reaching upward because of light competition.
    I believe cannabis, if left untouched by man, was well on it's way to becoming carnivorous. They smell a specific kind of way to attract insects that get stuck to their leaves. Other insects come and eat those bugs and poo on the leaves resulting in a proto carnivorous plant. There are plants right now that do the same thing and we unanimously consider them to be carnivorous. And they have trichomes that look exactly like the ones in cannabis. Plants like butterwort or the drosera. In these locations, the soil isnt exactly fertile, contrary to what most think. Nutrient uptake is just as competitive as the sun in dense tropical forests. It's really fascinating.
    In regards to how people started smoking it. They probably thought it smelled interesting but tasted bad. That maybe they could burn it for religious purposes in a fire. Doing so, they realized the fibers are useful as twine or rope. They realized it got them high, useful as medicine etc. I think that exact process happened multiple times across the old world.

      And it's not exactly weird that south American cannabis is from Asia. During the last ice age, Asia was connected to the Americas via Alaska/Canada and thats how people got there in the first place. I bet they brought seeds with them. For the fiber, effects etc.

    Got some beans haze like beans at least from how the structure is described, the lengthy flower time and very racy high. Doesn't seem to be Malawi, which was my first thought seeing it grown out but it was not a watermelon scented plant at all. It was very herbal and was very triched out. Not sure how terpinelaline smells like so can't really say if it's that. It takes about 26 weeks in flower. Breed it with some Barney's farm seed stock from 10 years ago while they still had the seed shaped pack. Got fem seeds still regret it because though I did find a male in a few packs I mostly used that long flowering plant as a male. Didn't know what i know now. Sad situation but we live and we learn. Appreciate this channel for all the incredibly useful information. Much love from Botswana

    Sorry for being long with it but I want to give a hats off to the old school guy come because he was not rude you cannot argue knowledge which is learned or acquired with the things that you have access to but wisdom is it from God and usually seen through nature which unfortunately means older people have more likelihood of knowing how to do more things the original way might not be fast or the most seen but you don't need a lot of the gadgets and these methods still work strongly today just remember there was a day when the US denied the new anything about this but if you were from the fifties you understood that the government had people to grow cannabis it's a long story but they went back and forth because they can control the money so you guys keep doing your thing because without these younger guys us older guys will die with the knowledge we have but it's up to you younger guys to accept and research what we tell you or not otherwise if we don't learn from history the first time it will repeat itself and some of these lineages will be gone forever

    Agreed on green usually being stronger than purples even here. There are exceptions though I've not seen a solid purple thats Very strong compared to the partially purple stuff.

    • @joeyattaway756
      @joeyattaway756 Рік тому

      Purple has pain relief properties that are useful medically imo. The early purps at least the good good that made it back east was very strong. It was mostly Widow crosses. Big Surx Widow was my jam back in 2001. It was definitely purple but bright purp not the deep U W or Rare Darkness. Not like grape ape. Soo when I moved west I expected the purps to kick my ass. It didn't and I was confused. Most SD or OG is true enough Krippy AKa kind bud. Well grown versions at least. The Cookies lost me bro. Looks great but has to work. Moonbow al that sucks. I avoid purps now. GMO sorta works but it's the taste that gets you. What these guys are saying is legit. Cookies unless it's extreme sativa crossed in or half inbred OG cross doesn't work. The indica craze to me is people smoking to not get high at all. Doesn't make any sense. It's like an edgy thing for an image. I want the herb to work. Yes indices I love them too but only if they work. Mazar , NL all of the NL hell Glue works although Noone really knows Chem Sis really. Idk man it's not the color it's the genetics. Bland high and tasty weed has cornered the market and these guys know what's up. It will shift. I will say Gary Payton is a good cross of that Kali Mist with Cookies. I dig it.

    First off this is a great podcast however I'm at the section where you guys are discussing where most of the seeds are bred and the fact is that both of you guys are right according to how much knowledge you have unfortunately for the guy that feels 99% are bred inside is just incorrect because when you know more people that grow outside then you'll understand the secrecy is so that most people can believe what they wish because outside breeders and outside seeds are really where the health and medicinal parts of the plant come in because there are some grown more Terps etc etc versus a man-made light and that is also recorded in science we cannot be God so just remember even though you guys have different ideas everyone can win but you have to accept that everything is not what you think it might be and all these seeds are not 99% grown inside because if you grow a seed outside it is bigger most of the time more robust so for those breeders that grow outside not in a greenhouse and had to fight off bugs naturally they will understand what I'm saying those plants are more vigorous But as time goes on you are correct more people are doing it inside because it is cheaper and makes more sense for the system that wants to use this as recreational or a monetary type crop but this is not tobacco or alcohol so therefore there are many ways that this plant will be produced

    • @BreedersSyndicate

      Outdoors seedmaking being grown indoor have a higher chance of intersex stuff showing vs making seed indoor to outdoor. Most serious breeders and seedmakers know this by now just from hands on and experience. I think most seedmakers do make seeds outdoors. I think the very few people BREEDING know that indoor is the safest route for environmental control and for keeping the customer happy with much less of a chance on intersex traits showing from slight stress. Cheers and thanks for your comments brother!
