I prefer this ramp over the Pinkenbar ramp. Done myself an absolute mischief last time I launched at Pinkenbar. Just as I launched my boat by hand, the ferry went past and the wake threw my fiberglass boat up onto the ramp. As it was getting pounded by the waves on the ramp, I tried to push the boat off the ramp. I slipped and smashed both my knees on the ramp and cut my foot open on the barnacles. On top of that, when we got going the boat was taking on water due to the damage. Now we only use this ramp when we go to the Brisbane river.
That’s unfortunate mate, but a really valuable point! I don’t think many people consider the impact those busier ramps can have. I’ve seen boats lifted off trailers from wake caused by other vessels. Thank you for taking the time to write.
That is correct. Plenty of room once in the ramp area. Point to note is that you can’t access the Brisbane River side of fisherman’s island direct due to the bridge height (pictured late in the video). You would have to sail around fisherman’s island to get in to Brisbane.
I never had the courage to leave car and trailer at this ramp. Things must have changed, thanks for your input great.😊😊
Not sure if I’d leave mine there, especially overnight. lol

Thank you so much 😀
The 5m clearance is there for those using long aerials or sailing masts because max height without a permit is 5m on our roads
Cheers for the clarification. Handy bit of info I’m sure others will take on!
Come and check out the Dunwich Yabby street ramp when the water taxi is in port. 7 Spaces for 200+ boats.
Appreciate the comment mate.
Just had a look and Google states the ramp is closed. Any truth to it?
Its always open mate but terrible access.
Thanks for replying.
Pity there was no gloryhole in the toilet tho ay..

Gotta take the good with the bad 😂
Appreciate the comment & support, thank you!
Another great vid, im guessing the height limit is just for the access road? Like i can set up my mast once parked in the ramp parking area?

They just won’t fix it they will close and sell them.
Let's hope not, that would suck!
