The way you're taking the concepts you've laid out in your previous videos, and apply them to this adventure time programming is super interesting. I'm pumped to see where it goes! I know it's under crappy circumstances, but it's awesome to see your training philosophies applied to the situation.
Man! You are awesome!!! I can see that you are more than comfortable in the wild. You can take the boy out of the farm, but you can’t take the farm out of the boy. But please, pretty please, be careful. The wild is cool, but unforgiving. And a long way away from civilisation and hospitals. Don’t get lost. Don’t get injured. I say this of course out of pure self interest. I don’t want to lose the best coach in the world now that I found you and I want my app!!! Stay safe (within reason)!
Love the approach, very strict and "whatever" at the same time. Reminds me of my childhood in soviet union...very few weights, very few anything. Thanks Mark!
I think the allure of the adventure that comes out of every second of this video is what really got us hooked. :) Some of the best content on the internet, Mark. I am building up my tiny non adventurous home gym because I am wary of wave 2 (if it s not already here) of Covid. Got a 12 k, a 16k and a 20 k kettlebell, they are very hard to come by but the other 16 might be coming in a few weeks. A long sword and an arming sword , and soon a sandbag.
I think I would scare that shit out of folks if I go running around my neighborhood in Singapore carrying a bow and arrow, let alone a rifle... I already get weird looks carrying my 8kg mace to the park to use. Thanks for the great content as always!
You have talked about making programs for people that travel a lot in the past, I wanted to ask what you thought about the TRX system? Essentially all you need is a door, like in a hotel, or really anything stable like a tree to mount the straps to. You don't even really need the system, when I was deployed a guy just used a ratchet strap attached to an MRAP and he could do most of the exercises. No foot cradles I guess. Love the videos BTW!
Another exciting video! If you don’t mind me asking; what would be the best substitute for Hydrocore? I don’t have one of those. Always shocked at how much you offer up on this site. A truly fresh perspective in this field!
Looking forward to the cooldown video. I hope you stop running periodically to loose a few arrows. Shooting while under stress is great training that is often neglected. Would love to see a bow video.
Speaking of traveling equipment, what's your thought on adex adjustable clubs and maces? They seem wicked expensive but compact, and give that incremental weight increase you liked in your programming videos. If they work right.
@@MarkWildman and collect too much of that adventure dust lol I think the whiteboard shows up great on video anyways. Nice contrast with your theme of all-black
I love this channel and its content. Learned a lot and improved my health and fitness. That said. . . going into the wild with a WHITE BOARD is beyond nerdy. (btw, I miss my old 6-foot exemplar )
Amazing content. For the single vs double club. Are the weights suggestion the same? Just differ if you're fitter or no? I would assume double hand it should be heavier. Cheers!
You mention programming waves a lot in this. The other programming videos seem to focus more on incremental increases (volume, density, total work). I'm not recalling much waves or cycling...Did I miss it? Could you say more about that?
Ahhh yes... maybe it got edited for time. All my long programs run in waves. It will be built into the app. Essentially it’s a wave of weight and volume to create step downs while always moving up. I’m not sure how to put it without our math and graphs
@@MarkWildman One of your kettlebell programs goes from (example)10x10@16kg up to 10x20@16kg then steps to 10x10@20kg, and repeat at the higher weight. If you include the Light and Heavy days, is that what you're referring to? I've only seen examples in the traditional strength world where micro loading is possible, so they are scaling up and down 70-95% 1RM constantly, with less rep variation. Wasn't sure what it would look like in this context.
Awesome concept...I'm sold! I can't tell you how long I've been looking to implement this very concept. I have 1 question, if I don't own a hydrocore or clubs (never trained with them) but I have sledgehammers, Kettlebells and Fatbells, would a Swing, Snatch, Press rotation be something that translates? iI know that it would be a direct translation but in the general sense? Will your app be addressing the lack of specific equipment. especially given the shortage being experienced
@@MarkWildman No, that's ok. But now it's weird that your truck and dirt bike are going to do mace, hydrocore and clubs with you. That said, perhaps they are relieved there will be no squats or deadlifts in the program. :-)
Your a beast man.
You've changed my outlook on fitness.
I'm grateful for your content.
Same. Cheers.
You look so happy dude! Excited to follow this series.
I love that you brought a huge white board with you.
Frank Cuccia you can take the nerd math out the gym but.....

You’d like my survival gear. I don’t leave the truck without at least a hill people gear chest rig and the 5 C’s

Hopefully, this series will also include some kettlebell programming as well...

I love this. This is called "Pioneer Strong" functional fitness for longevity!
Good timing. We left CA to go East, and I’ve got mace, clubs, and a few kettlebells.
Win
You rolling through the mace series?
Mark Wildman yes. Getting better. I’ll be back at the farm tomorrow and off the road, so will be training harder. Good stuff. Keep it coming.
Also, you get weird looks at hotels, gas stations and rest stops when you’re swinging a mace.
Hmm, did not think about different time protocols - right now all my Tetris blocks are EMOM. Good stuff.
Good Job, Mark!! Innovate, Adapt, Overcome!...I wish I could subscribe more than once.
Excited for the programming in Oct/Nov!

The long sword and arming sword speak to my heart in a positive way 💪
Mark Wildman and NOW I just got a hydrocore for my birthday!!!!!! Huzzah!!!!
You are going to have an Excellent Adventure Dude!!!
Great video. Can’t wait to watch more of your content. Didn’t realize California is still under quarantine. Glad you are on your adventure. ✌🏻
This is awesome man! You need to make some action videos of you driving, running and biking in the wilderness.

Mace running it is... paint it a bright color.
60 min Mace. Looking forward to seeing his this plays out on app. Cheers Mark
It's shallow of me to say this, but I think that square-bodied trucks look cool.
They do.... they do look cool
Idea for the ‘run with..’ a shovel 😎 (see Beau Miles - run the line)
or a huge 32 kilo pair of scissors
I have a Russian throwing shovel. So... that will work
Cold Steel Russian throwing shovel SPETSNAZ
I'm going to need a video about your truck
It needs a turbo at this elevation. I’m looking for one.

Look into gymnastic rings. They can do everything TRX does better, and more.
Wondering what weight clubs you've gone for... love the stripped down gear, can't wait to see this pan out!

Warrior / Bulgarian bag
Now that you have bare earth under you, are there any throwing (and not catching) movements with the kettlebell that are worth doing?

I’ve not used one but I am skeptical if they can be used in reverse grip... I could be totally wrong. I’ll have to play with one.
Still surprised to see a whiteboard and not a blackboard
Blackboards crack to easily
don't get me wrong, i like blackboards. some of my best friends are blackboards.

Where would you recommend starting with mace / clubs weightwise?
Loving the idea of an app
Mace 10lbs. Build to 60 min. Club 15...

Yeah. It weight jumps and volume or intensity jumps

You know what's easy to stick in a bag. Gymnastic rings. Also stimulates brachiating which is much more built into our history than carrying weapons.
