This is awesome mate, heaps cool view for the non-driver seeing what the driver sees, even found myself captured in the action. I can only imagine how much you must've looked like a goof with a GoPro wrapped around your head or something lol Making sure the bin wheels aren't gonna run up the vehicles at 2:08 and 7:50 ;) I noticed your RHS mirror is setup perfect too, see the full side of the truck and convex showing your approaching traffic... I'll never understand the way I find some mirrors positioned, and will forever wonder wtf some drivers are trying to see off them. Ohhhh it looks so easy and relaxing out there, even those big cul-de-sacs have the bins lined up on one side :O Council works rules eh, residents got no choice haha Noticed very little sound of glass bottles falling in the hopper... almost like the CDS has turned commingled recycling into a near paper and cardboard only stream! Well done with something different, looking forward to more. Was having a chuckle to myself while watching, imagining if I had this same setup in some of the shitty areas I've worked... crawling through some narrow street, can't swing the arm out to get the bins, letting off a few bad words, cars stopping in front of me with nowhere to go, more vulgar language, then can't make the turn around a corner, at which point I go completely mental lmao :P =]
Question: are there any cameras for the driver to see what is dumped from the can itself or just outside of the truck to see the can being picked up? I'm curious because a neighbor throws away all kinds of construction stuff and "hides" it in garbage bags so that the driver can't see it supposedly. Kind of curious what the driver sees and how they deal with stuff being thrown away that isn't supposed to be in the trash (like I mentioned, construction stuff like plywood, etc.). Edit...nevermind, looks like they can see it and I guess there's nothing they can do about it or they don't care?
How do you make the arm go out and grab onto the bin or does it do it automatically? I just see you moving the stick back to pick it up and then forward to put the bin down. Tryna learn as I have just applied for a job doing this. :P
the buttons on top control grabbing and ungrabbing. when you push the joystick fowards it puts the bin down. when you pull it backwards it raises the arm. moving it left extends the arm and right retracts it
Love this view of the inside of the truck.
Awesome video love the cab view video !
