As far as friendly competition goes. You do that by hopping on the same track and trying to lyrically outdo each other. The moment two rappers get set for a rap battle like what was being set up, it's no longer friendly, it's about destroying your opponents image and reputation and shaming/humiliating them publicly. That's a different type of thing and shouldn't be entered into for no good reason. They didn't have a good reason.
