(EP11) Milking cows plus a lizard, birds, BX, wood - HubNut Goes Global!
Вставка
- Опубліковано 28 вер 2024
- Yes, this video is a little disjointed, but I really do milk a cow (with technology, not by hand), stand on a hill, meet a lizard and a cockatiel, then drive a 1986 Citroen BX up to Auckland as I prepare to say goodbye to it.
At the end, George the cat encourages you to buy HubNut merchandise. White mugs (and beanie hats) are still in stock, and we still have a few calendars left too! hubnut.org for delicious merch and support options. Thank you.
Farmers weekly,
Texas chainsaw massacare,
Lovely rolling hills and countryside,
Fantastic winding roads for driving, what more could one want.
Thanks Ian.
That BX is marvellous. I will miss it even though I'm half way around the world and have never sat inside it
Can't believe you missed the chance with the intro to say "Things have gotten Udderly ridiculous"
OR.....here's the new moo...vie!!
@@andymccabe6712 You guys are just milking it now . . . Or are you just pulling Hubnut's teat . . . It was looking a bit like Jersey weather, but I am not sure heifer or not it actually got Friesian while he was there, oh dairy dairy me, this is starting to sound like a greenhouse gas emission . . . don't want to labour on, enjoy the Guernsey round Auckland . . . Time for a cream tea . . .
In this video, things have taken an unexpected churn
@@mattpowell4465 We had butter be careful, who knows what Ian may have herd about us !!
I didn't expect these comments to turn out so cheesy 🐄
Thanks for taking us along on a trip of a lifetime. Every day a new HubNut experience! Anyway, seriously excited on your behalf to see your new car soon!!
Absolutely loving the travelling vids Ian. Sad to see the BX go. One of the best car models ever imo. Curious to see what you came up with for the next one
Another day, another museum. For such a relatively young country, New Zealand certainly has lots of history to offer.
Thank you BX. We shall miss you and you're nimble handling. Rest assured, though, on your pneumatic spheres, Ian's replacement will undoubtedly have as much character as you ( BX) and respect your memory and your magical contribution to this Hubnut journey. Who needs working electric windows.
Your New Zealand adventure so far is keeping me thoroughly entertained. Always looking forward to the next video! Thank you. Good job with your marketing skills too George! :-)
Can’t help but think ex-Mrs Hubnut has missed out on one hell of a trip. Great times Ian
Massive plug leads for that 4 cylinder cow!
For one moment i thought NZ.had a cow museum:¬}
There’s probably a joke about grease nipples here but I’m not going to make one
@@RobRandomVids And for any Americans reading this, a grease nipple is what you
call a zerk, yeah, i don't know why either.
Well they've got a sock museum, so a cow museum wouldn't be too far fetched!
@@RussEdgar445y7tlfj Many thanks for that, and all these years i thought it
was a Mr, Grease Nipple:¬}
Today I was feeding a new born male calf with a special plastic bottle Made in New Zealand! Using this in Germany! Strange world...
You have seemed much happier this time mate, bliss.
Another great video! Making a memorable trip, and so glad to be on board with you (well, watching anyway, as I feel I am along for the ride as well). Awaiting anxiously for the next surprise vehicle!
From 'teat to tea cup'! You could hardly have your splash of milk fresher than that!
Great video, lovely place.
More George please.
As far as I can tell, BX'S were rather popular in NZ. Here in Spain they became an usual view, especially among cab drivers in diesel form.
Enjoy your trip Ian. HA - I am jealous. Have a nice day. CHEERS from AUSTRALIA.
My dad used to be a dairyman until one of the cows took offence and booted him in the ribs and broke a few, that put him right off the job. That view on Rock Rock is epic.
George was being very assertive.
what a beautiful country, really enjoying the vids, thanks ian👍
Oh dear, a agricultural job, hehe... And what a landscape view, really great! So tomorrow you will say goodbye to your companion, the great Citroën BX. She will be missed for sure, but she will be in your memory forever as a loyal companion on your New Zealand trip. The everlasting Citroën BX!!! What me wonders is that you almost see no traffic during your driving. Enjoy there and eager to see your new drive. Till tomorrow.
Oh don't worry. Auckland has ALL of the traffic.
1:54 That little head bob where the bird lowered his head towards you was a good sign. That usually means it wanted you to rub its head. I got two cockatiels and that's what they do when they want to be groomed by the other.
I was expecting bird and lizard milking haha
4:25 strange looking plane - it doesn't even have wings!
Hey, I can't blame him. If I got to go to New Zealand, I'd milk that trip for all it's worth, too.
Well done BX. It must have made you feel as though you were back in the UK when you rattled over that poor piece of road! Another super day in NZ, many thanks Ian.
Hubnut is truly the greatest channel, where else can I watch a cow being milked, then some hot Citroen BX action New Zeland style?
1:50 "And HubNut lines himself up and goes for the dismount! Perfect landing! And the crowd is going wild! Let's see the judges scores: 8.9, 9.3, 8.7 but only 6.8 from the Russian judge. What a disappointing score for such a near-flawless performance."
You're brave standing that close to a cows rear end
You don't have much choice!
Hoorah for George !
Good boy George helping to promote the Hub Nut store
The roads over there look very nice . Haven't seen you stuck behind one caravan yet either !
I got overtaken by a caravan in an earlier video...
@@HubNut Ah yeah, I chuckled to myself when I saw that 😊
Hi George !!!!!!
even an "udder-expected" turn
So you went to New Zealand to drive cars but one thing lead to an udder 😀
Seriously loving the views and the kind and generous people you are meeting Ian
Hp or cowpower...? 😂👌
You look really happy Ian
Keep doing stuff👍
That George, such a "catitalist"
He knows where the money for cat food comes from!
@@HubNut I thought that was George!
You are doing a good job of showing us NZ and from one of my all time favourite cars, pity others did not copy the switch gear.
Holiday adventures are entertaining
4:20 No Ian, you're in a car
Wow, you were essentially in my back yard 😂😂
Good luck in your new career as a dairy farmer!
Brilliant video Ian but, you gave us 30 minutes plus yesterday and now just over 11, that's never gonna do, come on keep em longer :D
Amazing scenery. Bye bye BX. Looking forward to next installment.
Wondered for a moment if you'd gone and got a job on that dairy farm.
Good stuff: you're remembering to include some "holiday" in your working holiday. We (as in, New Zealand) were chatting about it earlier and concerned you might be working too much.
Thanks for the concern. The videos don't always reflect the chill-out time off-camera.
This adventure filled trip is so much fun but now you’re just milking it...
That Rout 16 footage, I didn’t see one other car on the road.
It was pretty quiet until I got near Auckland.
Hey Hubnut what are you doing up at this time of night mate? Jeeze you're getting a Kiwi tan, you look far less pale and sickly than when you arrived here :)
cassowary? (the bird at the end)
Pukeko
I was at the NEC classic car show today. You were missed mate. 😉
I was there as well...You were sort of there Ian with the amount of hub nut stickers i saw
did nz ever make any cars or are any cars assembled there?
They made one car, albeit on an imported chassis. They assembled loads of different cars over the years, but this ended in the 1990s.
nice Vids
Watched every vid...
Well, that was an udder-spected turn of events...
Now, moo-ve along to the next comment please...
Clickbait !!!! You didn't milk a lizard LOL
I feel that putting big suckers on large udders may turn out be the high point of your life??🤔😏
Nice 😀
That's the most disturbing video title I've seen in a while. Why are you milking lizards and birds? Wood? Stop milking things!
I spotted the same thing right away. Lizards and birds aren't mammals so he's got his work cut out trying that!!
Southwards Car Museum in Paraparaumu will be a good place to visit.
It had better live up to the hype! It has been recommended many times.
Ah , so you are not milking the lizard then.
Just like the excellent BX GT Mk1, Campervans can be great fun to drive - an example: the VW T5 LWB drives nicely, and has a nice ride, with comfy captain's seats, along with the 5-cly 130hp. And as Ian said earlier in this entertaining, an Airbnb experience on a working farm can be interesting too!
The LT purpose built ones were also great, but could be a bit noisy sitting next to the engine, the over cab bed was great, one did not have to make it up every night.
@john collymore - I like the long wheel base, Hi-Top T5 Transporter, I used to drive one for miles and miles, very comfortable to drive, and a nice looking van.
Hi - there are quite a few nice small campers that drive similar to cars - in NZ Ian might find a Kia Bongo III or a Kia Pregio - a neat small 'cab-over' camper that is quite good, and fun... (I doubt he'll see many T5 LBW hi-tops in NZ).
4:45 "Serious contrasts" Oh, mate, you have no idea.... :) :) :) But you will. :)
The bird at 10:30 is a Pukeko, or Australasian Swamphen. and is related to the Moorhen. I should get out more.
@@RussEdgar445y7tlfj There's also a town over here called Te Puke. Hopefully Ian swings by to look at the giant Kiwi fruit that is there.
@@RussEdgar445y7tlfj 😂😂😂
Wait ‘til he gets to Aus and sees the dreaded Ibis !
He might have skimmed the story or given us only 2 percent if he was rushing about .But he always finds a way to give the Whole story every time .Never any thing but wholesome natural dairy air .
Good on ya mate.
That museum should have no trouble fending off the zombies with all them chainsaws about, so long as they had oil & petrol of course... :P
And nice to see a cameo from George too!!! :D
The first 3 minutes of this video is one if the most wholesome thing I have seen in a long time
''Excuse me mister...are those cows Friesian?''
''Don't be daft son, we're in New Zealand. They're nice and warm''.
_Ba-doom, tish!_
And for the Americans, they are Holstein Fresians. Named because the front 2 udders produce milk, the rear set produces Pilsner lager.
You're missing out on drifting TWC in the snow Ian this Morning.. Plenty coming down in Mid Wales
Thanks for the heads up on the mugs George. Good cat.
The combination of travel and car video's is very enjoyable so far. And almost every day a new video 👍
Well recorded such interesting views. I liked it all. As an amateur woodworker I enjoyed the sawdust scenery.
Looking forward to seeing your new wheels.
Rich and carnivorous 2 cats. LA california USA
Wow vid been up an hour and no thumbs down ... mental hospital must be on lockdown
Looks like lockdown has finished .... I thought about adding " and the Ford owners are out" but I didn't want to start a fight
Loving these vids immensely; many thanks for sharing your adventures around such a beautiful, welcoming Country. Adoring George's direct sales technique of new mugs too.......finally going to make my first HubNut purchase (along with a HubNut sticker). Only fair isn't it, as some sort of payback for your continued efforts to entertain. 👍
State highway 16 looked like a great drive - really enjoyed the over-the-bonnet footage. I was worried that after you'd mentioned the dreaded camper vans, you'd get stuck behind one.
You should name the BX "BeatriX"... she deserves a name!
Just my thought! :D
@@nn-ro1lv I didn't realize she wasn't staying for the duration of the NZ visit.
Getting quite philosophical about the art of travelling from AirBNB to AirBNB, I think you’ve found your true calling as a UA-cam Travelogue Host. Just really enjoying this whole series.
At the end of the day... campervans come into their own as your home.
Judging from the footage you have shown us, New Zealand looks to be a very lovely place.
Great video Ian,you are certainly doing different things there, the views are still outstanding to see,the hill you climbed is one hell of a trek 😁.
As a cyclists ,and a subscriber to your channel ,lve yet to work out why your stuff is so entertaining. Road test a bicycle and make happy.
Heads up Ian, there is some absolute shite weather on the way, something to do with an antarctic cold front which has got lost, Weather in Adelaide over on the mainland is bouncing 20 deg C in the same day with ferocious winds at times, the East coast is on fire, and over on the West Coast it's 40 deg. C.
Dang wind farms have mucked up the weather. ;-)
Ah, Cow HT leads
like wales but with sun
8:45 our stomping ground
10:31 pukeko, (poo kek o)
From the title I thought you were milking cows and milking a lizard !
I thought I was watching a special edition of country file at the start of this episode. So sad that the BX is departing the journey, but George made things good again
Is the next car another loaner or a purchase this time round? BX will be a tough act to follow!
Purchase.
Interesting that so many NZ speed limits end in a 5 - 35, 55 etc. I can't recall seeing any UK speed limit signs ending in 5! They probably should, there are many roads I can think of where 50 is too fast, and 40 a bit too slow. Similarly with 40/30, 30/20 etc.
Those are just advisory signs, but it's an interesting point. Maybe designed to catch the eye more?
They are advisory signs for approaching corners, you can generally do about 10kms over them quite safely except in wet or icy conditions.
Interesting stuff, I guess they are the equivalent of the UK "Slow" markings + chevron signs and the speed gives you a better idea of the corner's severity.
When you get to the South Island, consider half a tank an empty tank. I've almost run out of fuel a few times, it can be worrying, particularly when driving past stations that are closed. Just you wait, the scenery down there is like nothing you've ever seen before!
When you get to the South Island, you will find roads with such sharp bends, they put mirrors on the corners...
Fabulous country.
I found this out the hard way on the North Island between Napier and Wairoa....only just made it but the needle was bouncing off 0 for awhile 😆
Only in a Hubnut video could you see cows being milked and a Englishman climbing a hill in NZ :-) . Another superb video looking forward to seeing a proper NZ Hubnut car. I'm currently awaiting delivery of my Hubnut cap to keep away the cold while drinking from my Hubnut cup that's also on its way. Looking forward to your next video.
I am following you but had to comment on that BX... I hate it but at the same time love it... Great vlogs on this adventure really enjoying your channel...
Aww...I didn't realise that the magnificent BX GT was going to be handed over to it's new owner quite so soon.
I was milking today as well (helping friends on their farm) and - tadaaa: the HubNut parcel arrived! With this stylish HubNut beanie I'll be the star of the christmas market in our town... ;-)) Thanks for shipping so quickly!
Another fantastic video. You are doing a great job for New Zealand - I really want to go now!
I agree with the Airbnb comments. I use them all the time now, and have stayed in some fantastic places. From farms, to a modern hippy colony in Scotland. Great fun, and really interesting. All the people have been lovely.
Glad you got to see the Kauri Museum, it's one of my favourite places.
Nice Holstein Friesians, and yes the Kauri museum is also on my list, especially the protected live forest
You’re missing all the ‘fun’ back home! Snow in north and mid Wales making roads 'hazardous' www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-50359085
Wonder what the new car is? 🤔 Admit it, Ian, you bought the Will, didn’t you?! Will be together the rest of the NZ trip! 😂🤣😂
Ian: Nice trip mate. That Citroen BX reminds me of an Audi Quattro. The BX was never available in North America. I've always wanted to go to New Zealand since childhood. I don't know why, its just been a childhood dream of mine. I suppose one day I will eventually make it there. Ian, don't you wonder how Mrs Hubnut is feeling about you being away for so long? I hope she's doing alright. Have a nice day
You do realise that cow is the original X-drive,and doing rear nipple lubrication raises great risk of emission complications. Wonderful, wonderful scenery and after 13 days you well into your stride,,,loving the access you afford of the beauty of the North Island, thank you HubNut,,,😎
