Just make the electric furnace able to cook wood for charcoal as well. You'll have to do it separately from ore but if you made it the most efficient charcoal per wood method it will solve a huge charcoal problem for anyone who wants to use electric furnaces.

Despite efforts pipes can be placed through triangle floors and slanted roofs. Actually it is the other way around but I figured that'd catch eyes quicker. Pipes don't block the placement of slanted roofs and triangle floors if placed right. Found out doing a bunch of testing with some random peoples. If the pipe is routed through the bottom of a foundation the foundation can be place over pipes as well I hear.
I know this probably won’t be seen but I just have a suggestion for the game. Has anyone thought about adding an offline base feature to rust so when the player logs off your base can’t be raided to promote more online raids? I was thinking to avoid people taking advantage of this and logging out instantly you can make the base raid-able for 30 mins to an hour after the player gets off. To know if a base is inactive a symbol can pop up where the target symbol pops up when your hostile to outpost. For players that don’t get back on your base becomes raid-able after 24 hours of inactivity. To test this you can release it on some servers to see how well it does. This makes it easier for the casual player to play and enjoy rust instead of getting wiped out while they’re at work and can’t defend what they worked so hard to build.
So what exactly is preventing you from using a low grade oil generator piped through two or 3 armored square rooms with open doors but loaded to the brim with vending machines blocking the path but allowing pipes to passby with a sleeping bag in the last room along with TC?
I would still love to see some ultra-secure place, that's more challenging than Launch... Maybe a lab where the scientists make something... idk (could be a chance for a new item/big reward) But where when you breach the place, the scientists attempt to follow you home after you wipe out their A team, and maybe send the B team to your base (so you have to fight them off or maybe they rocket it n leave holes or something) I think it'd be a cool element --- to have the scientists actually act like we're intruding on their islands... and they retaliate after we rob them. Maybe we could have 2 APC's (no cannon but have m249's mounted or something), w/ scientists that deploy from them... and once you wipe those out you have to survive/destroy/lose the chinook that comes and drops scientists off to track/attack your base. Just a thought.
For the hardcoded 16 container limit, what exactly does that mean?? Say I have 16 boxes on either side of a conveyor all connected through combiners and spliters, would every box be accessible for giving and receiving items?

I think the limit for chest on the automation system is a good idea. With all the convars being even better for server customization. I’m still extremely upset with the hapis island retirement especially after the months of commits .. committed to it. Though hopefully it taught the team member some valuable skills with maps elemental design that we’ll benefit from in the future
I wonder (this is defo something u would even consider doing on a 10x server) if you can put a c4 on the drone and fly it up to a roof camper bc 10 secs should be quite a Bit of time if ur friend places the c4 on the drone behind cover that’s relatively close to the roof camp base
I fit 3 elec furnaces, lots of piping, and some auto crafting into a bunker 2x2 that only has 3 squares for deployables. Im not sure this begs for bases to get bigger unless you want to go full neckbeard with automation.
Over the past month I've seen a huge drop in my frame rates I used to get anywhere from 90 to 110 with maximum settings and now I get anywhere from 50 to 60 with a low of 30 at some points with sucks
Did @Shadowfrax mention the new server.queryport requirement for server hosts? If not, it's in the Rust blog... Make the change so ur server continues to appear on the in-game menu...etc. Ur welcome
I use a little bit of motion blur on everything when playing fps games. If I play too long without it I get a little nauseous. I agree though before this issue that setting was off on every game.
Hopefully this update will fix a really weird issue I've had on rust the last few times I tried to play. The key F13 was constantly being spammed while the game was open, making it impossible to set up keybinds. I know there's no F13 key but apparently computers are preprogrammed with f1 - f24. I uninstalled every associated file and the game just kept doing it when I reinstalled. Very strange and annoying!

Yep first time I played the game like 4 years ago my very first though was wow this game would be incredible with some automation added. Finally we got there. J-Pipes was ok but super ugly in the way it was implemented.

I love all the electricity in rust you can do lots of fun things. I don't get the industrial one. I can't think of a use for it that's better than just putting stuff in boxes yourself. I just don't get what it's for
So that u dont waste time sorting it just puts it all in the boxes for you, it can craft everything automated too so it can craft C4 or ammo or meds for you.
I feel like big clans who craft a lot of meds and ammo and bring back alot of loot can use it to its full potential but for small teams i guess its cool to setup a depo box that will organize all the loot you put into it in core

Great Vid, but unfortunately another add-on from facepunch I'll never be able to feasibly use in-game as a solo. This game has so much potential with the things you can do, but with it becoming a "base-raiding simulator" I don't really see anyone using the new industrial system except for larger groups and clans. Maybe I'm just playing the wrong servers, would be amazing to have a wipe where you could get people working together to build a massive working city instead of them trying to tear each other down or pvp'd into oblivion so that the server's dead after 3 days. Seems the only other option is to play PVE servers, but they're so dead even on wipe there's no one to share the castle town you built with... I remember playing my first RPG (back in the 80's) wishing I could do half the things that are now possible in this game. Just a shame most people only think about raiding & shooting each other instead of taking advantage of what it can fully do 😑

@@kevin_hannon Have you tried Zombie Land PVE? It's actually 4 servers with a pretty decent pop. They've also got custom monuments, custom npc's, and zombie hordes to keep you on your toes.

People are using motion blur because it is enabled by default when you first get the game. They need to update the default settings.

It's useless for solo or 2-4 player teams but basically an update for huge zergs that just helps them
Kit boxes. You die, empty box with kit and meds, another replenishes instantly
it's not bad for making a dropoff box when roaming, you can dump your loot and never have to empty your roaming box

2:57 I am on the fence about this update - seems like more of the usual - Great for zergs, not so much for the solo-duo-trios....but then again, i imagine, if it's like electricity update, few, aside from zergs will end up using it extensively, so the effect on the game, overall, could be negligible...

I'm actually much less interested in the industrial update and COD-esque additions to the game. Gunships and conveyor belts but no PIES?!?!
