As an ACC player on PC, I'm happy for console owners to have this amazing sim now, even with some compromises it will be a blast to play. No doubt it will benefit our hobby to grow. After I have seen some reviews I have to thx god there is no cross play though :). Good luck to Kunos for this launch and have fun fellow simracers !
Graphically it is a mess.. but the feel is exact to the PC version.. im hoping for it on the new consoles in December💯
why is it good to have no cross play? Would be awesome to up the server count on the competition server
I have seen a review where the rewiewer was discovering a sim, with a gamepad, and let's say it was... interesting :). Cross play would be cool, but when I saw that review I was just glad there isn't at that moment
@Light-bringer Don't take it too seriously what I said, it was a bit of humour. Of course it could be an option, it's even the best solution. I don't know if next gen console could do cross play and if it's on Kunos calendar but who knows. I'm afraid it's complicated to program, have the servers, etc for a small team like Kunos though

I'm 62 years old and got interested in Sim Racing about a year ago. I did some research and decided on ACC for the fact I wanted a real Sim and not an arcade game.
I own a regular PS4 and it's hard to find a review done in this format so again, Thanks.
I bought the game and started learning on a controller and since have moved on to entry level wheel and pedals, (G923 with Next Level Racing F GT lite Foldable cockpit). I'm set for now.
I absolutely love it and have immersed myself into it fully.
The version I have now is 1.7.2 which I noticed is an up grade from the version you had available at the time of your vid. It works perfectly. I plan on upgrading to the PS5 next year and maybe PC in the future.
Regardless, for those of us with limited budget, this is a more than adequate way to get to know this amazing racing series and it's cars and tech.
So, once again, Thank you very much for thinking of those of us on regular PS4's who have a love for Sim Racing and ACC. 🏁👍

Remember how this game copped a pasting when it was in early access on PC, only to come good and be highly regarded as a great game after constant improvements? Kunos will be used to hearing about unfounded criticism of this title by now.
The console version will be the same. Don’t worry guys, Kunos has an excellent track record when it comes to raising the standard of its titles.
My copy arrives tomorrow and I've watched possibly every UA-cam video on the PS4 version in anticipation and I want to thank you for being the only one who allowed us to see what the "chase view" looks like. I never played AC or ACC before so I don't have the PC muscle memory to overcome and relearn. I also think you were the first I've seen playing on a regular PS4 (not a Pro). What you have said here is exactly what I wanted to see and hear .... thank you :-)

Thanks David. A really insightful review. Learning how to navigate the menus (for an ACC novice) is the greatest challenge so far! They are not all intuitive.

thanks a lot for honest review. Have you tested ACC also at night? Is there a graphic lag? Or in rain? I have heard some people said there is a big issue with the graphic at this conditions.

Hi Dave, thanks again for piecing this vid together. Always appreciate your time and attention to detail for the info you present. Regarding some points I myself have, I hope either intrigue others to answer and or comment about as I felt some vids I’ve watched aren’t really answering the things that possibly what most console users might prefer more over than the list that the acc dev responded to on there iterative timeframe posted recently... here goes.. as some are questions, while some are points I’ve noticed... aA) Yes, the graphics aren’t that impressive, but we do get a solid game with interesting handling, so enjoying that and definitely a learning curve, as I’m used to pc2. But regarding the frame rate issue...I have to ask everyone, can someone shed so light as to how a game as heavy in terms of the amount of detail that a game such as pc2...ie car detail, weather effects, amount of different cars and tracks making pc2 more a monster in comparison of acc, how is it that pc2 has a better shadowing, weather, frame rate etc. While this isn’t a hit to acc, I just would be interested in hearing how can acc not have something close in level of key details to be better than pc2 seeing its years newer... I truly don’t care about the dev focusing on frame rate, as I know the ps5 will bring this up to where it needs to be, so I can hold off until then, but what is killing me when playing, is my interior cockpit view, feels like I’m playing in a convertible, as I’m not seeing any shadows, and yes I have a high end tv, and receiver etc, but with settings maxed, the light just feels like I don’t have a roof, as to the beautiful shots I see on acc interior PC gameplay... as a console gamer, I would like to see more thoughts around the following fixes, which would be graphics, shadows, etc, especially the game pad steering, and definitely field of view. As I feel these. Are impact the overall experience from that of a console user... and even world movement...see amazing options in pc2 for reference...and to those ready to suggest a wheel, I will buy a fanatic, but not until I know the podium will I fact work with the ps5.. ;)
So in summary, I’m really saying that most points I’m hearing are things Pc gamers are saying need to be fixed so the console game is identical as the pc version...but from the stand point of graphics and frame rate... and I’m just saying perhaps we need some more console feedback on what console users might be needing for the quick updates... hope this makes sense and possible drives further answers, questions and even additional comments... in the meantime, I’m just glad we now have acc, but I’m struggling to keep away on pc2 life I see some additional changes... sorry for the story. Keep up the great work to you and all at acc.
I’m a seasoned strategic user experience designer, and my last Hope from acc, is for them to hire a sr ux designer to create a stronger user experience for the options and setup screens... k, I’m done, :) thanks everyone...
Does the console version output MoTeC i2 datalogging files? During COVID-19 season I used ACC to develop my MoTeC i2 data analysis skills for real life racing. Gran Turismo 6 outputted MoTeC i2 files, so it has been done before.

Loved the video! I also just got it on ps4, but i’m having difficulties with my thrustmaster steering wheel. It doesn’t let me calibrate my pedals. Did you experience any difficulties?
Dave what about peripherals compatibility and FFB ? Did your wheel and pedals work as plug and play ? Was the FFB comparable or just as the PC FFB ?
I was waiting for a sim for console that has a more real feel.
The "Real Driving Simulator" has a lot of catching up to do.

Great video Dave, as I mentioned in the discord the other day I’ve only had this for a few weeks on PC and it’s Awesome. Also bought the console version to support the devs and to play with mates. Is that a Acelith design rim you are using for the TGT? I’m waiting for them to come back in stock.

just played for a couple of hours and really love it.
My copy arrived yesterday about 11:30 am. Loaded the game and the 1 GB update as well as my Intercontinental Series bonus pack. Then ate lunch and settled in to starting the game. Found that I was having difficulty getting my Thrustmaster T300RS wheel to adapt to the FFB settings that I'd seen in most videos. I experimented with these settings and different combinations of them for several hours to no avail. So back to UA-cam I went and found a video that provided wheels settings specifically for my wheel. Again, an hour or so of more testing to no avail. Then the guy in the video said that if you still can't drive the car properly then perhaps your T300 needs to be updated. Hearing this brings dread to my heart as updating any Thrustmaster wheel is so complex and confusing I reluctantly set off down that path. After several failed attempts and an hour and a half later, I finally got the update installed. My wheel had 2006 firmware and the update was created March this year. To my surprise and relief, the updated T300 works beautifully now. I won my first Career race last night and it only took me 12 hours of futzing around :-) I haven't played a PC game since early days of GTR but have thousands of hours console racing. With that experience, I'm happy to report that this game has met and exceeded my expectations. My only issues are that there is no conversion for the Celsius to Fahrenheit for ambient temps and for some reason saved car set-ups don't seem to show up when called upon (some do and some don't) ? I love the customization for events and the physics. Coming from Project Cars and PC2, GT Sport and F1 2019, I have no problem with either the graphics or frame rate. The game runs smoother that Project Cars 2 does to me. Thank God the T300 could be brought up to speed .... what a world of difference !!
It’s really satisfying to drive in this game, but the graphics are a bit rough round the edges compared to other sims on this gen. you just have to pick your poison
I agree with u but it doesn't take away from the racing or the physics of how it handles. They have done a really good job
At this point, devs go more for graphics than they do content it seems. I'd rather have a fun game with sub par graphics, than best graphics with little content... Looking at you EA games. I'd still play street legal racing redline if I could. Street tuning evolution woulda been cool if it was funded
Love AC on console, and really having a great time with this - physics feel great.
David - one question. You kept whee rotation at 540, which is 1.5 turns lock to lock. I imagine a real GT3 car is more than that, or is the steering really that quick? That’s formula car territory. So, what would be a realistic setting? I’m running 810 currently, but curious what your thoughts are...
each car has its prefered ratio... google it...

I use the Thrustmasters TMX Pro wheel on the Xbox One, what is the recommended wheel set up (steering lock degrees, gamma, etc)? Having a hard time getting it to feel right, some corners the car feels like the suspension is broken. Also the graphics feel glitchy and delayed, hope it's a patch fix issue.
The developer only cared about the PS4 release, the Xbox version is completely broken and unfinished when it comes to wheels and pedals (so much for "hard core simulator). The game is unplayable on my Xbox One X with my Fanatec Clubsport v2.5 wheelbase - it doesn't recognize the steering input or pedals at all. Note the pro reviewers all got comp'd PS4 versions, the people reviewing on Xbox all bought their own.
Even though I don't have a PlayStation console, I'm very pleased to see it have such a promising release. Your feedback/impressions of the game, and the physics in particular, is great to have. Success for Kunos and 505 Games here benefits all of us regardless of platform.

ACC takes me back to Simbin's GTR2, it's got the same pure racing feeling. I hesitated to buy ACC after the debacle that was Assetto Corsa on PS4 but I'm glad I did!

Playing on the base Xbox One. The game feels good. 30fps is something you get used to. A few bugs need to be fixed, I couldn't get my G920 to work when I first launched the game and force feedback on AC feels better imo.
I'll be using my G920 also. How did you get yours to work? A simple power off/power on of the wheel? Thanks in advance.

Only recently got in to sim racing. Been playing GTSport on PS4 and tbh, the Sportmanship Rating drives me nuts and the penalty system is a poor judge of who created the wreck/bump/slide. ACC looks very tempting! Thanks for the video!
From Commodore days forward, I never had a console. I had 286, 386, 486, ... and now - having Ryzen for gaming. But I was never a "purist". I know I skipped a lot of good games that never came to PC. Having said that, I'm impressed that old PS4 (not Pro) can run this game! I hope they optimized the game for minimal input lag. And since consoles can have a perfect framepacing, 30 FPS on consoles feels very different than PC which is struggling to output 30 FPS.
I started sim racing last year and bought ACC. I was not impressed and almost forget about it. Then at the beginning of this year, people started talking about ACC and how much they improved the game. And in the meantime, I bought a new gaming PC. So I downloaded ACC and could not believe how good it felt. I feel in love and since then I almost exclusively play ACC.
The only critique I have for now is MP. And maybe just a little better FFB or more options for FFB. And I hope Kunos is working on some kind of MP matchmaking system similar to GTS. Even if they release it as a subscription service, I would gladly support them.

Do you think match making is like GT Sport or I can be in Canada and can be matched in a race with you in Europe or its region based ?
is there any sacrifice in graphics/bitrate when driving in the rain on console? or does it run the same in any weather? On my PC, ACC in a heavy rain setting with a large number of cars tends to tank in FPS, so im wondering about the console equivalent
Ouch! Good thing they don't have MSI AB on the consoles, to see the fps tank out in the lower 20's?!
Something has to give there, it just can't cope at some point. Optimization only goes so far. PC gamers have dealt with piss-poor console ports for so long, it's almost good to see the Paystation suffer a bit. It's wrong I know.
From what I heard the fps is really consistent in the dry, but indeed there seems to be a few more drops in the rain, but should be still drivable.
@@revirdkcalb I've been playing and honestly it's just asbad visually in any condition. I haven't had issues with wheel or lag but many have.

What are your wheel settings and what wheel base are you using? I cannot get settings to feel okay at all!
Good videos. I have a question. What do you find about night racing in ACC in cockpit view on PS4 ? I looked to PC version and from cockpit view the road is perfect illuminated but on PS4 cockpit view it’s like the headlights are OFF. The road isn’t illuminated. Is the problem maybe my TV, standard PS4 or ACC... Because exterior camera and bonnet camera the lights are good. I only drive cockpit view and like night racing but very difficult to see clear. If it’s a thing from ACC then hopefully Kunos will fix this. Kindly Racing greetings
Hi Dave,can you do a video on how to put a car on a track and as you lap around show us newbies how to set it up including different brakes and aero and things we can learn quickly which will help us get quicker faster and enjoy the cars as they should be enjoyed.not seen anyone really do this as yet.

I think I've already left a comment praising ACC, been playing it all day yesterday. It's hard to explain how impressive the physics are on this game/SIM of course you don't get the arse feel of a car moving around but my god the force feedback is fantastic! It really does feel as close as I've felt from a real car on a track!. I've driven. 458 Italia on track not a GT3 but my god you really get that feeling as if you sat on the front axel kind of thing it's so pointy and feels as if the cars of rails, it just rotates and goes where you put it, as I found with real world 458 on track, obviously a GT3 would be that x100 but yes remarkable.
What wheel do you have? Is it a fanatec? What about setup? Did you change it?

Maybe you can help me unterstand something: i have tried a 24h race-weekend, race time 3 hours. 4 drivers on my ps4. So i thougt, every driver have to drive a 45 minute stint. But just right after the start, my box told me to come in to change the driver. The stint length is just 10 minutes! I dont know why! Can you explane me why the stint is so short or is this a bug? @davidperel I really love it. I think it’s great to bring a sim game and create a new sim audience to consoles.
I sold my wheel waiting for a new one. So I’m on the PS4 controller. I’m driving above average, but they need to fix the steering speed.
It is very twitchy and can be deceiving in cockpit camera. I have to switch cameras just because I’m not sure if I’m turning right. Yes it’s meant for a wheel.
I will have a new one soon. However to reel someone in they will need to fix that. It will make people think they are not good lol. I also suggest fixing the saturation.
It’s making the game look a little Arcady. Oh and we need a certain track in Germany that missing lol. Let’s just say it’ll be “Hell” to drive it lol.
I got it yesterday. I tried only two cars, but both felt amazing, and I haven’t messed around with the ffb settings yet.

I would be very surprised if it's not supported. You see fanatec ad all over the game :)
Most wheels from Thrustmaster, Logitech and Fanatec will work fine. You may need to tune the ffb, I've got the game and ive had to tune ffb quite heavily to get it to what I want.

How are the graphics and frames with different weather scenarios?
Hey David, seeing as you are in contact with kudos /505...do you know if in fact acc will be getting graphical updates in the near future. I saw this as it is a little hit to the pack, as you even said about graphics which make it seem like a game a few years back, which isn’t to say I don’t love this game and it’s handling mechanics... just more curious, or if I need to start saving for a Pc in the months to come...cheers mate.

Hey David thats what was talking about with gtsport the cars has no engine brake like acc and also the abs works perfectly you can feel the Hugh difference.
excellent and very informative review. and i feel the same way about console vs pc. i don't want to worry about whether my grfx card can handle the game or not. on consoles the game would definitely be optimized for that platform. i'm getting this game after watching your review. thanks!

I didn’t see your steering wheel in controls. Is it supposed to recognize the type of wheel you’re using? Also, when you had wheel selected it had buttons designated as your shifters? It does the same with my G29 and won’t let me select the paddles as shifter.
Quick question : Is driver swap available for the multiplayer console version?
I’m playing it on the standard ps4 too and the graphics aren’t great, I think it will be better on the pro. Will you be doing coaching on the ps4 version coach?

How does buying setups for ps4 work? Do we download a pdf? Do we get updates if the game changes?
It took two weeks to arrive but I finally just got it all setup and did the first challenge on Career mode. The 100% gain was too much on a lowly G29 wheel.....maybe a higher quality wheel it would feel different. I put the gain at 75% and used all the other settings he has on here and it feels pretty good. It's still a little tight and I cant decide whether I want it to be up a little higher or actually down a little lower so I can snap the wheel back to center a little more ruthlessly.
As of right now.....8 laps into the career mode, I can say, it doesnt feel anything like GT Sport. Feels kind of like Project Cars 2 (which I also own, but feel like I never had the settings dialed in where I was comfortable).
It definitely feels like "slower is faster".....anytime I push the car hard, I spin the fucker. When i purposefully go slow and make smooth, sweeping moves on throttle, brake and steering, it all comes together and feels just right.
Although I'm only 8 laps in and not done tweaking these settings, and not even close to start adjusting any of the cars settings. But I will agree that this game feels quite different and reminds me of driving a real car significantly more than, say, GT Sport at least. In GT Sport, if I go into a corner too hot and just chuck it in, throttle and steer my way out of ANYTHING. But I do that in this game and there is no saving the car.....its done. Not sure how much I like that for a single player experience but for online MP competitive racing.....I'm down. I will edit in a few days.

Btw, what are your favourite cars in ACC, apart from the Ferrari? Any advice on top 3 cars performance wise? (I’d guess Porsche overall, and Audi, are usually a little ahead)
Hey Dave! Great video, but I need a bit of advice regarding pit stops. I can’t get the pit lane rev limiter to work after multiple Sprint races run (and won) I have adjusted the settings several times. I also can’t get the 4 directional pad to work to allow me to do driver swaps. I’ve assigned various buttons, tried no buttons but the directional pad won’t respond to inputs. So.... I end up speeding in the pits or going 20 mph so I don’t speed! I’m using a Thrustmaster T150 wheel. Hope someone can help, because this game is otherwise AWESOME!
Obviously I know that a controller isn’t the best experience for this game. However, it’s all I have at the moment. So I was having trouble with the button bindings because there simply aren’t enough buttons on a controller for all the controls. On project cars 2 you are able to use a keyboard along with the controller to bind the keys onto both while still being able to play with the controller. The problem is that I tried this with ACC and it doesn’t work. Any advice on solutions?
I'm having issues with light streering but when I start play I got heavy streering the when I mess up and go back to the pit and restart and haven't change any it goes light as hell in drive able any ideas whats going on

Great game, but i hope they fix the headlights, its very minimal if you drive at monza..too dark..
What wheel is he using and what kind of wheel are you guys using. The latency is what's holding me back from buying it. From what i gather peopele with different wheels have different experiences with the lag. It perhaps can be that its not the wheel but the settings that they are using.
Some insight on that mather would be nice. I'm sure i'll get used to the 30Fps and that will go up with a PS5 patch. The input-lag is a deal breaker for me tho. Trying to catch a tankslaper because you're always late to react seems very frustrating.

So good to hear your perspective on the merits of a physics-focused approach to ACC on console. For sure the lower FPS and effects are temporary as the PS5 and Series X will be able to raise both of these metrics. And each will be about $500 which is about the cost of a RTX 2070 Super alone.
The question I want to ask you, is Thrustmaster planning to intro a DD wheel? Something that isn’t the $1800 that Fanatec wants for their PS4 DD1, F1 wheel bundle. And this is coming from someone who already has a full Fanatec Clubsport setup with multiple wheel add-ons with a Sim Lab rig. Having a hard time seeing the rationale to spend that level of money for DD for console which basically is on par with a solid gaming PC cost.
No DD plans for TM at the moment. They're more focused on mid to low tier budgets. Fanatec price points have increased a bit compared to TM.
David Perel thanks for your work on the car setups and the upcoming tool to ease manual setup input for console users. As a Sr Experience designer, kudos to u. It’s a great proactive catch and appreciate you taking this initiative. Also agree with you on many other areas regarding where’re the UI can improve in ACC! Um, live timing screens, 😷 cough!
Its feeling through the hands is nothing like ive ever experienced before. Ive been a console gamer for ever and never touched a PC. So when i heard this was coming to console i was excited but nervous as i love GT3 racing but after 5 laps around The mountain i was sold. One thing i would like is a slighty more user friendly pit menu.

I've invested in a rig to play this game. I've been a fan of GT Sport for quite a while but always preffered the GT3/GT4 cars. When I heard about this game I was very excited. It looks and sounds great. 👍

I'm having serious issues with force feedback on the T300 wheel, it's currently unplayable. I hope they can fix this bug soon. That being said, you can tell its an amazing game which I can't wait to get into.
Ok I’ve found a way to make it work! I’ve checked to make sure I have the latest wheel firmware update, connect the wheel to the PS4 only (no controllers) and it works fine now

From the first day when I tried Assetto, to this day, I am a huge fan of Kunos🔥👌💎❤🤗
I have to admit, that at them beginning, I liked the GT3 series more, in the first AC.
Feeling of the car, seemed much deeper to me, and I had the feeling, that they didn't do enough in ACC ...
... But, when I understood the Tires (PROBABLY Pirelli) which have a very short range of motion and Aris suggested how to set the FFB, I fell in love again!😍
Kunos is just the best!👌💎❤
But, there is also a chance for improvement: I agree about the moment of loss of grip.
It is difficult to feel it, but, I have great confidence in the Guys from Kunos, and I believe, that one day they will manage to perfect this aspect as well 😊

Dave, How would you compare GT3 Cars in ACC / PCARS2 ? I'm interested in buying this new game, but there are many critics with FPS. I already have PCARS2, but the inconsistent AI seriously bothers me.
Can you tell them that the version for Xbox one is not working it’s broken. Some of the menus are missing and it’s not registering the wheel brake or throttle. If you could contact him about this issue it would highly appreciate it. Thank you Dave
