    Hello Sir, How to remove this error in the simulation of a microstrip patch antenna for 2 THz. Port refinement, process hf3d error: Terminal Rectangle2_T2 on port p1 contains a non-conducting edge. The terminal may need to be assigned manually..

    Hello first of all, your video is very helpful. Please can you explain us how did you calculate the substrate dimensions? Why XSize=17mm, YSize=21mm?

      Substrate dimensions doesn’t have to be so specific, depending upon the patch size you can choose the substrate dimensions. Say for example, if a square patch dimension is 35x35 mm, the substrate should be > 35x35 mm, if probe feeding is used.
      In case of transmission line feed, it should be greater than the patch and feed line dimensions.
      However, please refer to the design equations video in my channel.

    Hi sir, I appreciate your video, and this is very useful for me, thank you., But I am stuck in a problem. I tried a lot in designing metamaterial antenna, and want to obtain some desired results. But after so many attempts, I am no where. I designed atleast 35 metamaterials antenna, but not able to understand what dimensions I chose, so that required results are obtain. Please help.

    i m not getting the assign boundary option (perfect E)and assign excitation (lumped port )in my ansys Hsff software.so what should i do then.?

      try this,
      select the ground or patch to which u want to assign boundary..suppose if you select the patch go to the HFSS option on top click on it then you will find an option called Boundaries and then u can see assign and then perfect E

      sorry for the delay, in order to obtain circular polarization try using dual feed or try doing corner truncation to patch

    Sir, when I keep the solution frequency (say, 5.2 GHZ in discrete sweep) as the center frequency, then the value of return loss and VSWR is not as good as when I keep 7.5 GHz as the solution frequency during simulation (the sweep being bw 1 to 10 GHz).So, should one go with the higher frequency for simulation or keep only the center design frequency as solution frequency? Hoping for a reply soon.

      That doesn't matter i guess, because when you go for real time testing we dont choose any solution frequency but we only choose the frequency range. If you have designed the antenna for certain frequency (say 5.2 GHz), that frequency should be given as solution frequency.

    Hello sir...i want to find isolation measurement for 2 element MIMO design.. Please guide me for simulation of this MIMO design..

      S21 result will represent isolation.
      The envelope correlation coefficient plot also represent the isolation in MIMO. If u need to extract envelope correlation u need to use HFSS 18 version.
      To know the isolation measurement, simulate the MIMO antenna then go to HFSS_> TOOLKIT_> MIMO and then you can find the correlation coefficient at diff frequencies ...
      Hope this will be helpful.
      Another way of finding the ECC is just use the below equation in the output variables of HFSS.
      This can be used even in lower versions of HFSS as well/
      (mag(conjg(S(1,1))*S(1,2)+conjg(S(2,1))*S(2,2)))^2/((1-mag(S(1,1))^2-mag(S(2,1))^2)*(1-mag(S(2,2))^2-mag(S(1,2))^2))

    after drawing a radiation enviroment box,i go for validate option then i got boundary excitation problem and analysis setup but in ur video u have only analysis setup problem,so please provide me solution

      that error might be because u might not have assigned lumped port excitation to the wave port........plz check it

    Sir while assigning boundaries to groundplane and patch it shows error that boundary may not be assigned on non model objects..plz give me the soln.

      The reason for this is...during the time of simulation if u try to add any objects a notification appears like "A solution exists; do you want to create a non model object?" Then you have to choose 'No' option. You might have choosed 'Yes' and so software would have take it as a non model object, for which u cannot assign boundary. The solution for this would be either try a new design or find out the non objects delete them and create those models again.

    I am getting this error while validating
    trial2x2 (C:/work/HFS_design/)
    HFSSDesign1 (DrivenTerminal)
    [error] Port refinement, process hf3d error: Too few conductors were found on port 1. There should be one conductor for each terminal, with one additional reference conductor. Unintentional contact between conductors may cause this error.. Please contact ANSYS technical support. (6:03:44 PM Nov 23, 2020)
