Casey, America may not remember you that much but in Ukrainian hearts you live and will be living for many-many years to come. It's such a bad irony that you became known in Ukraine mostly when you passed away. RIP, Kvitko. I am sure you see what is going on from where you are and pray for Ukraine

I was a kid in the 70s and I always wondered whose amazing voice was in those commercials. I read an article about her after You Light Up My Life so then at least I had a name. Years later I looked her up on the internet and was so sad to learn she had died young. It was such a loss to the world.
I heard her commercial in 1978ish on TV , Have you driven a ford lately, where she dances and sings and wondered, "who is this Kacey."

Nothing beat's the original..She is very far superior to debby boone's version. She is very inspiring !
So happy to find this video . I was 13 when this movie came out. I loved the songs in the movie sung by Kasey… I was very angry when the
single came out in Debby Boones version. I assumed at that time that Pat Boone stole the song from Kasey to jump start his daughters career.
I had then album but never purchased the Debby Boone single… Thanks for sharing!

Kasey Cisyk deserved the right to be the only featured performer of this song. What a tragedy. The writer of this song knew this. That's why her voice is in the movie, no one else's. What a crime.

Can’t believe how similar Boone and Cisyk sound in their respective versions of You Light Up My Life. Uncanny.
If you search online for Cisyk's official page, it tells that story. The producer who stole her voice and never paid her until she sued him, had Boone sing over Cisyk's voice on the same tape to be exactly as Cisyk expressed it so he didn't have to pay for musicians to replay the music. I Boone was 21, and her dad got her the gig. I wonder how it lays on Boone's conscience....
I would not blame Debbie, Joseph Brooks gave her an opportunity that no one would turn down. Its how he treated Kacey and other women, something that women faced in the industry for so long. But for Kacey, this was just a bump in the road, she was the real deal per her husband and several people who worked with her and befriended her.

Not uncanny... the piano mic captured Kacey's voice and Joe Brooks used the orchestration from the movie. Debbie had to basically "punch" into the existing voice on the track. Debbie said it was the most unusual session of her young career. Read the article on www.maestrostudio.net/kc

@@tsoilihoi Have you heard her singing in Ukrainian she made two albums and she did it at her own costs even hiring a 60 piece orchestra. Then in the 1980s 250000 dollars was alot of money she knew she would have a short life and died in 1998 everyone was shocked a bi lingual singer .
@@romanchomenko2912 Yes I have them under password protection, they have a copyright. You can purchase them through itunes. If they are not available your can search for them on google. I was trying to promote a documentary or film on her life and kept them in reserve to show prospectives. Her story has legs considering that Joe Brooks continued his preying on starlets, was indicted and eventually killed himself. To Kacey, her episode with him and Debbie Boone taking over the song was just a bump in the road. Her husband termed her "the real deal!" There is a lesson in her life to women who work in the entertainment industry. I have happened on several persons who worked with her and give her their praise.
