I follow the concept of the 4 gift rule, as I buy things from all those categories but I always buy a lot more too. I'm not a minimalist and I love spoiling my kids. Christmas is always a hard time financially for us, but it makes me happy getting a lot. I'm clearing out toys too. I'm tired of toys that end up as clutter
I did the 4 rule this year as well! For the read category I got them both leap frog sets! And then I got them board games as well. I did a little extra though I turned their want into their Santa gifts and then their big gift is actually a shared gift. For their need they didn’t really need anything so I got them a experience gift instead. So my goal was to just definitely just scale back and not buy them a bunch of unnecessary things just because.
For me if I did 4 categories I'd have to do multiple items in each cqtegory... like a whole series of books for something to read... I am so not minimal...lol.. which is ok... Do you also do Santa gifts? I like the idea of wrapping things separately so the kids still feel like they got a lot of peesents... especially if you are transitioning from big Christmases to minimal ones..
Lol ABSOLUTELY! Totally ok to not be a minimalist 🤣 Stockings could be from Santa or one gift, two gifts etc honestly just all depends on how much emphasis each family wants to put on Santa 👍🏼
I'll have to do it minimal next year! I went overboard this year. Not just all toys, I got a variety of read, wear, learn, and a few toys. But I could have scaled it down a lot
This was such a breath of fresh air. The majority of videos have been excessive toys. These families spend thousands on just one child. Multiply a thousand by however many kids they have. 😩 I honestly feel like its become the "popular" thing to do. Its honestly ridiculous. One girl literally spent like 13k just on Christmas. I was in disbelief.
Mandie Nicole thank you so much! Yes I have seen those videos 🙄 I don’t get it at all!! I spoil my kids in other ways and love them to death but I just can’t justify spending that kind of money!!
Whitney’s World.c.k I don’t like your method, kids are supposed to be spoiled. I spend 500+ on my two kids combined . I feel it’s dumb for you to be so cheap. Spend more money! It’s Christmas spoil them!!!
@@youtubehalofan-4313 everyone does it different I like watching both kinds of videos haha! I lean more towards the spendy christmas, it just makes me happy to give them a lot of presents. But I totally see the appeal of taking a more minimalist approach!
We have a similar video coming out tonight! We got almost all of our kids gifts for free through couponing and rewards! We would love some support and to show you how we saved so much money!

kimberly bachman exactly! Perfect ideas!
Love the intentions and consumable gifts. Won’t add much clutter.

I had a similar mindset for my daughter’s “big gift.” I bought her a huge gingerbread house for her to color. I always tell her no at the store.
Very first comment, I am kinda proud :'D
Do your kids believe in Santa? I always wonder how the 4 gifts work for kids who do Santa / do the parents credit all gifts to Santa?
Great question! yes they do but I will further explain this in my next what I got them for Christmas video...coming soon!!

I honestly wish I could get away with Christmas’ like this
My parents are in a bit of a pickle this year because I’m asking for 13 gifts this year-
Great gifts! Subscribed!
New to your channel, watching now 😊 What are you kids names? And ages? 😊 I’ve just got my 2 year old son to buy for 😉
Kate E Keirra is 5 and Kensington will be 3 in a couple weeks! I would have no idea what to buy a boy lol
Whitney’s World.c.k Hahaha, we went way overboard just having him. But he was beyond easy to buy for 😉 Cars, trucks, toy story 🤣
