That's exactly how I feel about these new trends or generation because obviously social media and trying to portray perfection at all times and say they bad b's, makeup everyday and going under the knife for a bigger ass no stomach half the time botched asf. Me being 32 and then also daughter of a cosmetologist who prides herself in maintaining or restoring healthy hair relaxed or natural. I use to wear weave/braids but now having 2 daughters it was important to not only tell my kids the importance of loving your natural self and with confidence, I had to also show them by being the example but tbh I have only worn a full of makeup 1x, fake nails a handful of times but I had to tell them yes other girls at school are doing everything now that some parents and kids may regret because it's asking for all the wrong attention and the only people who really are benefitting from our people wearing all that b.s is the China Man selling that infected ass hair and nails, the surgeon and you still have to workout to maintain so you should've just did that instead of going the fast and maybe deadly way. Black men need to go to therapy and figure out why they are obsessed with a black woman’s hair and what she decides to do with it whether they’re natural or not. It’s very feminine for men to focus on how women choose to express themselves. Other race of men don’t do this. I understood what ghost was saying but this further pushed the narrative of black women not being able to grow hair. And let’s not act like white women don’t get extensions. Just because it matches better doesn’t mean it’s their hair.

What he said didn’t have nothing to do with black women not being able to grow their hair out but how we rarely wear our natural hair. A lot of the times most black women will not go anywhere if their hair is not done and some only consider their hair to be done if they have weave in or a wig on. It’s not feminine of him to call it out, it’s true. And some black men are obsessed with a black womans hair because they want it to be natural. Our natural hair is unique. I know some say its too nappy or untamed but it’s all beautiful. The same hair our ancestors were born with yet we don’t embrace it. We could bring up white women and extensions but no white woman is not about to leave her house because she doesn’t have her extensions- she’ll throw it in a bun or something and go. Nothing wrong with wigs and weave but there’s something wrong with us not accepting and loving our hair for what it is. Black men and women all need therapy.

Tbh I try to look good for myself and when a guy tries to hit on me when I'm not feeling it I feel like I wanna kill him. It makes me mad that I can't mind my business and they do the same and just appreciate me from a far if they like how I look. Frankly I be checking my drip out and my appearance cuz I wanna look good primarily for myself then so I don't look like a hobo to others comes secondly.
