There are no words to describe how mutch I love Ramin. The way he speaks, sings, acts and of course his love for his boy's and his very strong love bond with Sierra it's all amazing. Ramin is pefect in every singal detail. God bless!
Maria Llamanator It was mine, too... and I never thought it'd happen, but it DID -- during his last tour stop in NYC... and I was absolutely blown AWAY!! it was SUCH a surprise; everyone in the crowd was just stunned! thankfully I had the wherewithal (and camera ready) to record it!! You can find it on my channel under the Road To Find Out playlist.
Maria Llamanator I actually flew out from Minnesota to see him in NYC... I've flown all over to see Ramin (and other musical theatre-type folks) and it's ALWAYS worth the trip!!
correction i wish i still live in America.... cause flying out from freakin Indonesia is so difficult.... hahaha.... and you've met both Ramin and Hadley?? i saw your page and i saw the pictures... that's so awesome!!
Maria Llamanator Yeah... many times. I actually run Hadley's fb page.... long story.... but..... aside from their amazing talent(s), they are both truly wonderful human beings!!
I used to dislike opera mostly cuz half side of my family did but i always had a deep secret love for it, now im in love with it....and watching The Phantom of the Opera Ramin pulled me out of my seat with his voice behind the mirror.....it would be a dream come true to see him perform for real, or even just meet him :D He's a huge inspiration for me being from Canada like me, I dream of singing and performing on broadway....and most of all someday be Christine in The Phantom of the Opera
SO glad I was at BB Kings in NYC last year to actually hear him sing TIHYS again -- it was a COMPLETE shock!! I even talked to him about it after the show and he said he'd only decided THAT DAY to sing it that night! Check out my channel to see the video (if you haven't already)!
More than wanting to know the details of why he cannot sing this TIHYS I am mostly heartbroken. However I can understand why some people including myself cannot do or listen to curtain things because it triggers something sad inside of me. It's just that he's rendition of that song is simply the BEST I've ever heard and to know that I will never get the experience to go hear him sing it live breaks my heart. I don't think I will enjoy anyone else's singing it without thinking of Ramin.
without getting into it too much: it is honestly just a very difficult song for Ramin to sing, emotionally... it brings back things that have happened (not just LND) and he found the more he sang it, the harder it became on him... so he decided to give it up (for his own emotional health).
I am impressed by the interviewer's ability to draw out such intimate information from Ramin. Who knew one could or want to connect with a suit at a deep level? Perhaps Ramin wanted to share at that moment and place? Nevertheless, this is a substantial interview that filled in many blanks about Ramin.
This is such a great interview, with so much new stuff! Thanks Audioajunkie!!! I found one thing Ramin said really touching: Joseph Millson is a great actor. I loved Joe Millson as Rauol but people seldom acknowledged how great Joe was. It's so kind of Ramin to say so.
I just recently noticed that his accent changes a little depending on who he’s talking with. Especially with his kids, he sounds more British and even his pronunciation changes.
I'm amazed that he'd even share that much private thought in an interview. The song itself says plenty, I think. Despite what he said, IMO, the best rendition may not be from the show itself, but the concert style at the Olivier award. There is a good quality video here.
I sure hope not! I love his work and would love to see him! It's funny, in the 25th Anniversary of The Phantom of the Opera, you can see one on the inside of his wrist in (I believe) The Music of the Night.
I wonder why he doesnt like singing 'till i hear you sing' he did look like something deep inside was upsetting him i really want to know what was going through his mind. i dont want to sound like a fan girl XD but the only think i can think of is that he misses Sierra and the song reminds him of her?? is plausible as they are best friends but dont see each other much. what are your thoughts?
+smartiegirl112 Same here. When he said that it brings up a lot of backstory for him I think he kinda misses those shows with Sierra because they're really good friends and that song reminds him of her. He also said that the song feels different out of character and I think it's because of that too, when he was acting as the Phantom he imagined the Phantom singing it to Christine, but singing it as Ramin it reminds him of Sierra (since they're friends and they were the original cast) and it's kinda sad for him... at least that's what I think :) Or maybe it has something to do with his family, you know... being far from your family has to be a difficult thing and he probably misses his wife and children... but I don't know. Those are my two theories :)
It sucks for all of us that he can't sing Til I Hear You Sing, but I understand. There are songs that I love but can no longer sing because of the memories associated with them. It's just too painful and difficult.
yup... you can see his J-H-R-cross tatt just peek out of his left sleeve... I'm surprised they didn't cover it with make-up. There aren't many West Enders as tatt'd as Ramin, but -like I said- I don't see it slowing him down one bit! :)
Most of the time I try to be civilized or at least witty in the comments that i make but im abandoning that. HOLY FUCK THIS MAN IS SO PERFECT IN EVERY WAY I JUST CAN'T EVEN FATHOM IT. DAT FACE. DAT ACCENT. DAT TATTOO. DAT HAIR. DAT ELOQUENCE. shbdjsnalakbdidnskkb. Ok done.
I read or heard an interview with him about his tattoos and in it he said, his agent or manager had to tell him to stop getting tattoos if he still wanted to work in theatre.
he should play Jekyll/Hyde in the musical! He would be AMAZING in that role! I wonder if when his appendix burst is when Tam Mutu covered for him during Love Never Dies?I wonder what the deep reason is why he doesn't like singing TIHYS? Maybe he misses Sierra? lol. What tv/film is he doing?!
But now he has a full sleeve, I mean I guess they could cover them with make-up or perhaps the part calls for long sleeves and it's all settled. I just wonder if he will run into problems.
you can see a hint of them on his left forearm, but this was taken before his sleeve had gone all the way to his wrist....... he's starting on the right arm soon! :)
Aww... I just can't help but think he's 'personal things' are that he really is in love with Sierra and they just can't be together. I mean c'mon! Look at those two! I'm in love with them, how can they not be in love with eachother! Sorry Tam and Ramin's wife :( But I can't help and think they really love eachother. more than their amazing friendship.
Stephanie Schuurmans so you're basically saying you want him to cheat? (you should see all his Facebook posts going on about his love for his wife, it's adorable)
i'll always feel No more than halfway real 'Til I hear Ramin sing once more!!
this is soooo underrated !!!!!!!!!!!!! I am laughing out in coughs and singing in the same time!!!!!
Ramin is so genuine, kind, humble, down to earth, and talented!
There are no words to describe how mutch I love Ramin. The way he speaks, sings, acts and of course his love for his boy's and his very strong love bond with Sierra it's all amazing. Ramin is pefect in every singal detail. God bless!
yes I agree that lucky woman...
it's a personal dream of mine to see him sing Till I Hear You Sing again......

THANK YOU!!! i wish i lived in NYC... it must've been amazing!

His voice is so soothing
I love this interview. Mr. Karimloo is humble about his amazing talent. I would also love to see him do Phantom now, he has grown and evolved.
This was such a very civilized and respectful interview. 😊
I used to dislike opera mostly cuz half side of my family did but i always had a deep secret love for it, now im in love with it....and watching The Phantom of the Opera Ramin pulled me out of my seat with his voice behind the mirror.....it would be a dream come true to see him perform for real, or even just meet him :D

His story is so inspirational

Amazing interview! That guy asked all of the right questions.

Colm looking at him like a proud dad 😍

RAMIN!!!!!!!
Let's just give Ramin our love and full support. The vibes will go to him....this I believe. :)

Amazing human

good call! his TIHYS from the 2011 Miss World is one of my all-time FAVE Ramin vids...
how cute is this though!!!
I love the whole part starting at 15:30 and ending at about 16:13. Possibly my favorite part other than the videos

yes, he named his younger son after Hadley. :)
Really like the eclectic mix of songs.
I wonder if Ramin ever reads our comments........
im sooo in love
You said it all.
It sucks for all of us that he can't sing Til I Hear You Sing, but I understand. There are songs that I love but can no longer sing because of the memories associated with them. It's just too painful and difficult.

That's a cool song.
I read or heard an interview with him about his tattoos and in it he said, his agent or manager had to tell him to stop getting tattoos if he still wanted to work in theatre.
Don't forget Ramin is of Iranian descent. Iranian men ooze with appeal.
Oh Ramin, I'd kill to hear you sing TIHYS live....but I understand :)
Aw, no! He recently had work done, do you know maybe when you read/heard about that in an interview?
he should play Jekyll/Hyde in the musical! He would be AMAZING in that role! I wonder if when his appendix burst is when Tam Mutu covered for him during Love Never Dies?I wonder what the deep reason is why he doesn't like singing TIHYS? Maybe he misses Sierra? lol. What tv/film is he doing?!

I highly doubt it -- he rarely reads reviews and even more rarely (re-)watches his own performances.
Wonder what his real problem is with singing Til I Hear You Sing ( 21m20s )
Do you think his tattoos might hinder him for getting parts?
I think we all wonder that...
Did you realize you basically just quoted the song itself, right ;)
they certainly haven't thus far and I don't perceive that they will in the future.... stage make-up can do wonders (IF it needs to)
But where are all his tattoos???
you can see a hint of them on his left forearm, but this was taken before his sleeve had gone all the way to his wrist....... he's starting on the right arm soon! :)
Wow! The boy Hadley is same name Hadley Fraser!?!??!
Am I right? LOLOLOLOL :)
I thought he only had one son????
nope... two. Jaiden is just 8 and Hadley is 4.
Aww... I just can't help but think he's 'personal things' are that he really is in love with Sierra and they just can't be together. I mean c'mon! Look at those two!
