Rowan Williams _loves_ using the word 'cluster'- but I wish I wouldn't use it at all. It is such an unpleasant word.

Listen to God's cousin,Rowan Williams is His nephew thats why he knows so much stuff about God,there are,it seems, alot of God's relatives and close friends on this earth. Its amazing how some guys know so much about unknown things, this guy is like an ant in some antfarm taking considerations about the humans she sees passing by,obviously all ants know everything about human life and interests.
    Theology(and philosophy) is hell,everything goes.

+Markhuntonio I think he would agree with your ant analogy, but insist that the difference is even greater! That is why he describes what he is saying about God here as mostly 'negative'; he is denying that the limitations that apply to us apply to the being who created us, and then corrects those views of God that understand him as having these limitations (He would also probably agree with God having close friends and family on Earth. Jesus called us his friends, and Paul calls the church God's children).
Pretending to have no Theology or Philosophy just means that you will have an unreflective one.

LLOTS of mention of God,but before we can say anything about God surely we should show some evidence he/she/it exists.

He doesn't exist. He *is* Existence.

ObjectiveBob,That is just some more words (about God) ,and like with Rowan any combination of words can be put together ,that doesn't bring you any closer to evidence,we require reasonable evidence for everything else, why not the supernatural?

Here's the evidence: existence. Existence exists. Therefore, the Source of existence exists.

But we don't KNOW the source of existence, or if there is a source as we know it,we can only judge what we know from our limited experience, it could be lack of our knowledge, which is most likely, could be something we have (at present)no idea of,or can't imagine, I don't think anyone would say definilty gods don't exist, just that humans have always invented, and or believed in them,

You're right: we don't know the source of existence, because it has no source; which is why "God" and "existence" are equated. Does existence "exist"? Strictly speaking, no. But is it real? Yes. How do we know? Because here are: we exist. And furthermore we know that we do: so meaning is also real, but does not "exist", so much as "proceed from" the reality of existence, or "being", with which it is one, from which it cannot be divided. So, something can be real without existing, since to "exist" is to "ex-ist", to be from ("ex") what is(t). God, like being, does not "exist" precisely because God/being/existence is that reality that undergirds all that exists, is the "is(t)" (the verb to be) from which all that is "ex" is(ts). Or to put it more simply, while God does not "exist", God is, or nothing would exist. "God" is a verb, the verb to be; not a noun, a thing that exists.
