Earning my first $150.00 for a standard detail package had me in disbelief that someone would pay it and give a $30.00 tip. It blew my mind because 8 years ago I charged $30.00 for the same service. Charging premium prices will get you a lot of no's...but all you need is the yeses. Thanks Anthony!!!
Lady called me for a basic inside and out, told her my price $150, said its out of her price range, so i ask what price point was she looking for and said there was a guy that was detailing her cars for $35 and did a great job but could no longer find him. See the thing with $35 detailers is they quickly realize its not sustainable so they either quit or get wise and change the target demographic.
Lets do the math, so we use 1 gal gas to drive there, 1 gallon to run the generator so thats min $7 right there, then like 2-3$ in product (tire shine, apc, wheel cleaner, soap), then time that went into the job (prep, drive, on site) total average like 3hrs for basic job so your net hourly rate is basically a wet fart which leads me to believe these $20 detailers are desperate meth heads looking for any lose change and could care less about scratching up the paint.

Facts
Facts... Detailing isn't simple.. it's a service that takes physical energy to complete...
@@cutlasssupreme508 Exactly…physical energy, attention, chemicals, gas to run equipment and vehicle, & time. They have to pay for that.
