    Good comment about tension in full body when grinding. Lots of wax too. Thank you for these details

      @@flowersherolls1700 I'm also going to work on my sweat stance and kindgrind to improve my fish brains on coping. I feel as though the topsoul position is harder for my hips than the sweatstance

    this is so interesting. i learned how to fish after learning oversoul. never thought to use sweat as a starting point.

      @@stefanpavicevic5890 hi stefan you have me confused with someone else. i don't skate vert and park only sometimes. i used to street grind with like jon julio when he lived in milpitas rob g, john starr, and tom hyser when he was still finalising the fatty and lawrence of 5050. heck i even grinded with mimi shing. so i certainly cannot do a mctwist

    The part about the mental effect regarding pads or no pads is very important and rarely addressed. I'm of the opinion that riding without pads makes you a better skater because it teaches you not to fall or to fall avoiding knee impact. Of course you need the pads to learn and to throw big tricks, but taking the pads off when you're just chilling in the park, doing the tricks you know, is a secret tip for improving. It boosts your confidence too.

    • @flowersherolls1700
      @flowersherolls1700  2 роки тому +2

      Hi! Thanks for your input. I hear you and I feel that. No pads forces you to be fully committed 💯 percent while your skates are on. Full concentration. I put my knees back on because I’m still battling second guessing.

    It's been cool following along with the videos and seeing the weather change as they go on. Do you have any tips or ideas for a video discussing how to still actively skate in the wintertime if you don't have an indoor skatepark? Do you recommend skating when it's really cold out?

    • @flowersherolls1700
      @flowersherolls1700  2 роки тому +1

      Hi! Thanks for your feedback! I’m going to be feeling winter and skating for the first time myself. I’ve been in SoCal for the last 14 years so I didn’t have to deal with the cold. I know it’s going to be mental. How bad do you want it? How bad do I want it? We’ll have to call in patience with the transition and experiment with ways to stay motivated at the skatepark. I know we can do it. If I can push, you can push with me. Through this medium we stay connected and progressing, and through the winter we reveal our higher self. Let’s get it.

      We are having autumn and soon winter here in Europe. This is my fifth year skating in such a climate...bring the towels or a mop, or other appliances that help you remove the snow from the ramp and clean it as dry as possible, then it won't take too much time to dry. If you have concrete skateparks only, observe where the puddles settle after the rain/show, and how long it takes them to dry. You can patch test cleaning them...clean a small area and see how long it takes them to dry. Skating below zero (celsius) is tricky...at that point I do not do it simply due to frost on concrete skateparks that can settle on the surface, also, depending on the material your skates are made of, you could brake some parts easier as it is below zero celsius. I either crosstrain doing something else like jam skating, or you can make your own prail to use at home. Or add other forms of crosstraining such as strength training and balance training, learn how to do handstands, etc.
      And dont forget wearing good clothing! :)

    This is a good trick, it looks great, more difficult than the previous ones, I hope one day to be able to do it. I'm still with the front side and the back side.

    • @flowersherolls1700
      @flowersherolls1700  2 роки тому +1

      Hey Adán! Agreed. This is a good trick and yes definitely more difficult than most tricks because your on one foot. When it’s time, you’ll have to feel it out just like the frontside and the backside. I’m glad your still on frontside and backside. Feeeeel. Get to know both sides without having to think about it. Your feet will naturally want to morph and switch positions. Keep going. I believe in you and your individual process. Always, thanks for being here.
