Years ago when we were shopping for a bed. I knew what I was going to when she picked a nice king size brass one. As soon as we got home and finished setting it up, I pulled out my guitar and harmonica and played this song to her! Thanks for bringing back this sweet memory for me! ❤
Musically this song is very special, the percussion and pedal steel guitar. Bob's got his bedroom eyes on lyrically and vocally. Beautiful song, one of his stand outs among stand outs.
I remember hearing "Lay Lady Lay" on the radio when I was a little kid. The pedal steel guitar sounds really stood out. Dylan's voice sounds a bit different on this one, leading some people back when to mistakenly believe for a time that he died in a motorcycle crash and was replaced by a doppelganger! I picked up a used copy of Nashville Skyline when I was in college. "Tonight I'll Be Staying Here with You" and "To Be Alone with You" are a couple of other choice tracks from the album.
Oh boy... soooo close to the beautiful I THREW IT ALL AWAY-!! This was the song that forced a lot of guitarists to begin studying pedal steel because no other instrument was fitting for this song's stage-performance. This, TEACH YOUR CHILDREN, PANAMA RED and the Sweethearts Of The Rodeo album from the Byrds - just gotta have pedal steel.
Dylan praises the beauty attraction possibilities and ambiguity of women .. men are vulnerable to the magnetic attraction and Bob has so many ways of telling his appreciation of the wonders of relationships
"What ever colors you have in your mind I'll show them to ya and you'll see them shine" A great selection and I still recommend "Leopard-skin pill box hat" Not "Too Many People" like this but I do and Cimdy I think you would too!
I love Leopard Skin Pill Box Hat. I think a lot of people might not be familiar with it, but when I used play it in clubs it always got a great reaction!
Apart from his words, I don’t know another artist who’s ranged across so many musical styles

He has so many sounding voices, like no other artist!

"I Threw It All Away", "Tell Me That It Isn't True" and this song are my three favorites from this album.

One of my favorite Dylan songs (I know, I know - I say that about every one of them) lol So enjoy your reactions - thank you!
His clothes are dirty, but his hands are clean. And you are the best thing he's ever seen.
Hope she grows to like it. Timeless song, like her beauty. 😊
The whole album Nashville Skyline is a gem!

Check out his Song "Gotta Serve Somebody" regarding good and evil
Born in Time is another when you find it so poignant so beautiful
Looking Good Dear !!
On this album his voice is so sweet due to giving up the cigarettes 😄🎸👍🏴
Sweet expression Cimdy!
Just aswswer one question for me who's your number one idol Elvis or Dylan lol
Your hair is great by the way
Thank you so much
Wasn’t this song written for the 1969 (?) movie Midnight Cowboy?
You are beautiful ❤
Try tomorrow is a long time ❤
Drums made the song
What you're looking at hurts your performance and your post.
How does watching the video hurt my performance?
A very different sounding Dylan song. I noticed that you were licking your lips at certain point. The lyrics fed into a fantasy for you?
