This video focuses more on protecting the tree than protecting the human. You forgot to mention how to actually securely lock the ratchet so you don't fall off and break your ankles.

Great video, however Wouldn’t those ratchets work the same as securing something onto a trailer or truck? Where the end of the line goes into and over that spool and come back out going in the exact opposite direction? Then you able to hold the line and end together while ratcheting in order for it not to bunch up in the spool. When it bunches up it decreases the balance of the tension and makes it a pain to release the tension when removing it.

How do you use the ratchet? I feel there some step I'm missing? I put it through, then start ratcheting it and nothing happens
Make sure fold the slackline as you put it through and ratchet it with it folded
Yes put the end into the slit on the spool and the end of the line that you threaded should come back out going in the opposite direction. Hold both the line being tensioned and the folded end for a balanced spool. I think she did it incorrectly in the video. You don’t want it going into the area where your ratchet is working, it will tension however when it bunches up it can be a nightmare to remove
I don't know if I just don't understand, or if maybe my line is way too long but it will not tighten properly
So it is just a ratchet shrap.

Umh just a question. What if the short end of your slackline is so short that you can't even put it around a branch? I did get anchor slings with it tho
