  • A few key points that I understand now that I didn't understand very well the first time I took Myokinematic Restoration about five years ago.

Could you explain why the right SI gets lax? Wouldn't the stronger muscles on the right help stabilize it? In another video you said the Left SI joint is the one that gets painful because of the weak muscles.

Mostly because the sacrum is being pulled away from the right ilium (S/I). This position, coupled with the compensatory internally rotated position of the right leg, causes the right glute to weaken.

What happens to the chain with a right aic but your weight is always on the left foot turned out? Kind of left unilateralization meaning whole left side of body is tight right side is loose. High left hip .

A right AIC is left stance, which is one of the goals of PRI. If you can get a tight left side and loose right side, that is a good thing (most people are stuck with a tight right side and loose left side= right stance).
BUT, our left side and right side should take turns tightening and loosening, compressing and decompressing. This is what walking actually is, and PRI is just walking and breathing.
One side compresses to provide stability while the other side decompresses and moves forward. The problem is that we loose the ability to alternate these two states. It is the alternation between compression and decompression, between left and right sides, that PRI is seeking to restore.

@@NealHallinan I'm sorry I meant my pelvis is in left aic but my weight has shifted left because of high right side. Like double compensation so tight left side loose right side. I'm hypermobile so probably why it easily compensates.

@@JazzyScat Something on your left side might be tight (lower back muscles, hip flexors) because they are being used to stabilize the weak left pelvis. But the left side is still unstable. You still have to hit the left hamstring, left adductor and left glute medius really well. Hope that makes sense.
Hypermobility definitely makes things more complicated.

@@NealHallinan I'm guessing strong glutes and hamstrings very tight biceps femoris like a left leg ready to take the load for a right lateral high kick in martial arts. Yes hypermobility complicates things cause we can't really find the tight muscles with usual tests still get the knee to the table in the drop test and no hamstrings problem either. Ah well hard to know which exercises to do. Thank you so much for your taking the time to respond. 😊

What is the correct breathing pattern when we walk?
