Battle Wear Damage, the Ki Blast particular effects, THE WAY NAPPA'S GIANT STORM EXPLODED THE BUILDINGS IN WEST CITY LIKE IT WAS FIREWORKS, everything about this looks incredible and i can't wait. Literally the only thing i think can be even better is making the actual hits have a louder sound cue so that they feel even bigger. I don't care if this releases in the winter or even in 2025 and beyond, no matter what happens in my life even if I'm completely broke and dying the next day, the moment this game comes out, i am on it 100%. We will be there no matter what

You may or may not know this, but what you're seeing when the clouds go dark and the music changes, is when the character enters a powered up state (Charging to max.) it was introduced in raging blast. It allows the characters to do some crazy combo chains.
Same, i hope it stays this way. I see my ki, my health, the counter number, character portraits look good, its fine. I want the focus to be on the gameplay, not a ui that covers 1/3 of the screen
Its the camera angles. These are the most dynamic camera angles we've ever gotten. Better than bt3 and rb2 by miles. Rewatch it and pay attention to the way the camera moves its actually amazing and makes everything so damn beautiful
I loved the camera the second I saw it. It isn't just one angle they switch between multiple and like you said makes it much more cinematic and dynamic
at 4:00 I believe this is a cool little easter egg when vegeta went full power, it's a reference in the show he started powering up he made the earth shake and made the sky go dark and start to causing lightning to shoot everywhere, so that means when you do a full charge, what I think is that every stage will have some sort of reference in the show/manga for the stage environment when you go full power
I think it's based off of raging blast. In raging blast there's this thing called raging soul and it turns your Ki bar purple and the sky goes dark. The music even changes too.

I really like the Skill Counters, because it's an extra thing to watch out for with the blast meter. The Skill Counters also seem to determine transformations. Goku and Vegeta both had 3 Skill Counters before turning to Blue, then the counters reset back to 0. I'm super excited for the game. I've been waiting for a game like this.
It’s basically the same as blast stocks in tenkaichi games. same principle, the numbers underneath the health bars etc. costing for transformations and other moves like ‘power up to very limit’ and all sorts. I like how they utilising it more for other things like deflecting blasts, absolute hype of a game
And right beside the Skill Counter (the circle with the number) determines how many transformations you go up to, with a max of 3. plus I also saw that they had another transformation after blue because the circle number didn't go up past 1 when they had 3-4 Skill Counters
While you would be correct about the skill counter, it would seem transforming only cost 2 skill. Goku had 5 kill points and transforming into blue took 4:18
The beam struggle seemed like you can spend Ki to open up some of the little pips, which would allow your bar to rise further before you have to time the button press. Thats definitely new and seems risk = reward too. Neat system imo.
Im speechless, this game looks absolutely amazing, the ki charging animation was clean, the transformation, Ki struggles, z dash, all of it was just perfection.
I get why no date coz if they say a date then they have that long to finish the game but if they say the release date after they show everything then it gives us a lot of excitement coz we seen everything and it don’t put too much pressure of the devs

Honestly I find the camera movement to be kind of cool actually. From what I can tell at least. It really got a very unusual kind of dynamic, which is making it actually pretty intense I'd say. Still, polishing on camera movement is always appreciated in any game.

The key fills to 2 base line. You didn't notice I guess but it goes up when he isn't getting hit or hitting and when he is getting hit but stops at the edge of three
Obviously it's still in dev. but the only thing I'm not a fan of is the punching sounds, they lack impact, and also the animation of the beam hitting your character, it sort of just stops mid-air. The rest is so fire though
Yeah I was saying the same thing, the attacks like punching and kicking need wat more impact, also I hope the Combat is new mostly and not just mostly a modern version of BT 3 combat mechanics, it's literally a sequel after all
My favorite thing about the visuals of this game is that it’s very DBS broly inspired and the super sayian blue form is colored like it was in the broly movie instead of the ugly light cyan color

I think they’re making some smart changes like speeding up normal movement. When you got up close in Tenkaichi, you would be SO SLOW. You couldn’t really move to avoid attacks and just had to block if you were getting attacked. Speeding up the movement will definitely make the fight more similar to Dragon Ball where movement is a key factor. I also hope they do more to differentiate certain play styles. Like fast characters are really fast but maybe weaker offensively or defensively. Characters like Roshi or Piccolo who have fallen off in raw power to some degree (not including the orange boi) but who are still shown to be capable tacticians should get some interesting tricks. Like same base speed as your well-rounded characters, maybe they deal less damage and taken more damage than Goku with the same overall stats but they either charge resource faster, use less resources when performing actions, or a combo of the two. Like imagine Roshi is outmatched in raw stats like attack and defense, but he can do more things more frequently with some cool moves thrown in that are unique to these types of characters. Regardless: looks cool already.
According to scans of V-Jump, speed characters use less ki for actions, such as the dash, or attacks (Move faster too, of course). Power characters have higher ki costs, but deal more damage, and take slightly less.
Exactly. That’s the reason why I prefer RB2 over BT3. Blocking was a nightmare to try and learn in BT3. I obviously haven’t played it that much since I was born in 04 and just recently started playing BT3, but still. I also really like being able to choose if you prefer speed over power or vice versa. I just hope there isn’t a meta, because that would ruin this game
Lmfao When Dieon said controllers and hands would be destroyed with the rotating clash mechanic. I couldn't help but laugh because it's absolutely factual, but this game is cooking. About the team matches it kind of seemed like they hinted at maybe a 2v2 with Burter and Jeice but I could be overthinking it, it could just be one of their Ultimates. Imagine if the interaction between Kale and Broly was a team intro.
I personally wish they would’ve brought back button mashing, but it makes sense for what they did in two ways. 1. It gives both players a chance to win, cause you would always lose to the faster button masher unless they slipped up, and 2. Button mashing can still damage controllers, and PS5 controllers are like $60-$70
Possibility on the ultimates: Like in Raging Blast, if you have certain characters on your team, you can activate certain cinematics Piccolo sacrificing Goku with Special Beam Cannon Lose Goku, call in Krillin to throw a spirit bomb, additionally can trigger Gohan cinematic if it lands Gohan and Goten Kamehameha Etc
Little things i noticed. Lock on mechanic might be back as when Goku got hit by final flash it play a sound and the screen was centered hinting goku lost track of Vegeta Also flightless characters being back, you can see master roshi falling slowly after attacking at 11:03
If you were wondering what those Orbs next to the bar is that has the arrow pointing up. Goku and Vegeta BOTH lost 3 orbs when they went SSGSS. So I am STRONGLY ASSUMING it's their transformation requirement. So like each SS requires a specific amount of those. I am wondering how it differentiates between them since Goku in this form has SS, SS2, SS3, SSG, and SSGSS yet it only costed 3 to do SSGSS. IDK how they would manage to make it so you can skip between all of them
Don’t know about regular Zamasu, but there for sure will be Goku Black and Fused Zamasu, just a question of if they’re going to be base game roster characters or DLC characters
I really love the camera motion! Seems so fluid vs the same old stiffness the older games had. Makes this game seem like an evolution to a series rather than a copy and paste.
I will only mention the negative points for now. My main issue with the gameplay so far are the jump cuts and the screen going black for 1 frame before teleporting, strong attacks etc. It is really hard to watch. Not a massive fan of the UI either and it would be nice, if we had the option between full and decreased aura effects in the settings. I personally think effects are a tad too much in size, even if it looks nice. Also beam attacks seem kinda lame and the beam struggle had a super weak ending.
True for the aura size. Could just be a “get good” thing and you just have to make sure you’re safe to charge, or they should implement a setting like you said that decreases the size or an indicator that tells you you’re being run up on when you can’t see the character in front of you cause of your aura while charging
My main complaint is that the hit satisfaction isn't there foe this game. The hits feel so flimsy. Hope they make the hits more weighted in the actual game
the little arrow thing with the number next to the blast stock seems to imply how many forms you can transform up with the current blast stock available. both goku and vegeta had "3" when in base form, then just "1" when they went blue. guess it makes sense if you go from base to SS to SSG to blue, and once you're in blue you can go to the further forms, i.e. kaioken blue and ssbe. this follows the trend of some forms only being accessible at a higher form. tl;dr you can't skip directly to blue kaioken, you have to go to blue first.
It’s either that or something to show how fast you get it depending on how much you engage in battle, cause it seemed to me that if you just stood there you wouldn’t get the little number and the gauge wouldn’t go up, so the more you engage, the faster it fills up. Also could be a mixture of the two
17:23 this is a mechanic they introduced in the Raging Blast series, you charge up and go full bower as you say it and the sky turns dark because of it this was introduced in the sequal of the raginst blast series i think or maybe its in the first one as well i dont know but of course to activate in raginst blast i think it was r1 or l1 i don't know its been a long time since i last played raginst blast. my review of the trailer: 10/10 i liked everything about the trailer they brought back old mechanics from old Dragon Ball Z games like the traingle beam clash from the old budokai games i am so happy that they are actually taking their time and effort with this game and not just released it halfassed and make it a cash grab like most new games it is probably going to be a 70 dollar game but i am all here for it
The HUD definitely is a beautiful evolution of the Tenkaichi ones you can see elements from BT 1-3 and even Raging Blast. It seems like they automatically combined the Ultimate Mode and Raging Soul when you max out the blue bar for ki for ultimate attacks and combos.
I have a feeling that the little up arrow looking icon that we saw in the hud might denote transformation, as the only time we see it spent is when they went blue. They also had one more towards the end of the battle so that might be teasing an additional transformation for both of them.

During the beam struggle everytime the button was pressed the beam went back and forth I have a couple guesses how it works -best of 3 where whichever player gets the bar fuller wins -tug of war like mechanic where when you press the button based on how full the bar is you push your opponent back -theres a numerical value with how full the bar is and the first player to reach the set number wins the beam struggle
the camera movement gives it a unique cinematic feel that i think will make players more immersed into the gameplay, great for friends and solo i think its gonna be great

Characters like Roshi or Piccolo who have fallen off in raw power to some degree (not including the orange boi) but who are still shown to be capable tacticians should get some interesting tricks. Like same base speed as your well-rounded characters, maybe they deal less damage and taken more damage than Goku with the same overall stats but they either charge resource faster, use less resources when performing actions, or a combo of the two.
Like imagine Roshi is outmatched in raw stats like attack and defense, but he can do more things more frequently with some cool moves thrown in that are unique to these types of characters.
Regardless: looks cool already.
According to scans of V-Jump, speed characters use less ki for actions, such as the dash, or attacks (Move faster too, of course). Power characters have higher ki costs, but deal more damage, and take slightly less.
Exactly. That’s the reason why I prefer RB2 over BT3. Blocking was a nightmare to try and learn in BT3. I obviously haven’t played it that much since I was born in 04 and just recently started playing BT3, but still. I also really like being able to choose if you prefer speed over power or vice versa. I just hope there isn’t a meta, because that would ruin this game

Lmfao When Dieon said controllers and hands would be destroyed with the rotating clash mechanic. I couldn't help but laugh because it's absolutely factual, but this game is cooking. About the team matches it kind of seemed like they hinted at maybe a 2v2 with Burter and Jeice but I could be overthinking it, it could just be one of their Ultimates. Imagine if the interaction between Kale and Broly was a team intro.
I personally wish they would’ve brought back button mashing, but it makes sense for what they did in two ways. 1. It gives both players a chance to win, cause you would always lose to the faster button masher unless they slipped up, and 2. Button mashing can still damage controllers, and PS5 controllers are like $60-$70

Little things i noticed.
Lock on mechanic might be back as when Goku got hit by final flash it play a sound and the screen was centered hinting goku lost track of Vegeta
Also flightless characters being back, you can see master roshi falling slowly after attacking at 11:03

If you were wondering what those Orbs next to the bar is that has the arrow pointing up. Goku and Vegeta BOTH lost 3 orbs when they went SSGSS. So I am STRONGLY ASSUMING it's their transformation requirement. So like each SS requires a specific amount of those. I am wondering how it differentiates between them since Goku in this form has SS, SS2, SS3, SSG, and SSGSS yet it only costed 3 to do SSGSS. IDK how they would manage to make it so you can skip between all of them

I really love the camera motion! Seems so fluid vs the same old stiffness the older games had. Makes this game seem like an evolution to a series rather than a copy and paste.
I will only mention the negative points for now.
My main issue with the gameplay so far are the jump cuts and the screen going black for 1 frame before teleporting, strong attacks etc. It is really hard to watch. Not a massive fan of the UI either and it would be nice, if we had the option between full and decreased aura effects in the settings. I personally think effects are a tad too much in size, even if it looks nice. Also beam attacks seem kinda lame and the beam struggle had a super weak ending.

True for the aura size. Could just be a “get good” thing and you just have to make sure you’re safe to charge, or they should implement a setting like you said that decreases the size or an indicator that tells you you’re being run up on when you can’t see the character in front of you cause of your aura while charging

Agreed, I think a lot of the blast had great buildup but were relatively weak when they hit, sort of the same with the punches.
Dont think the cam looks wonky, they just add that shake effect for impact feel i guess, had a feeling we can turn that off later on

the little arrow thing with the number next to the blast stock seems to imply how many forms you can transform up with the current blast stock available. both goku and vegeta had "3" when in base form, then just "1" when they went blue. guess it makes sense if you go from base to SS to SSG to blue, and once you're in blue you can go to the further forms, i.e. kaioken blue and ssbe. this follows the trend of some forms only being accessible at a higher form. tl;dr you can't skip directly to blue kaioken, you have to go to blue first.
It’s either that or something to show how fast you get it depending on how much you engage in battle, cause it seemed to me that if you just stood there you wouldn’t get the little number and the gauge wouldn’t go up, so the more you engage, the faster it fills up. Also could be a mixture of the two

this is a mechanic they introduced in the Raging Blast series, you charge up and go full bower as you say it and the sky turns dark because of it this was introduced in the sequal of the raginst blast series i think or maybe its in the first one as well i dont know but of course to activate in raginst blast i think it was r1 or l1 i don't know its been a long time since i last played raginst blast.
my review of the trailer: 10/10 i liked everything about the trailer they brought back old mechanics from old Dragon Ball Z games like the traingle beam clash from the old budokai games i am so happy that they are actually taking their time and effort with this game and not just released it halfassed and make it a cash grab like most new games it is probably going to be a 70 dollar game but i am all here for it
The HUD definitely is a beautiful evolution of the Tenkaichi ones you can see elements from BT 1-3 and even Raging Blast. It seems like they automatically combined the Ultimate Mode and Raging Soul when you max out the blue bar for ki for ultimate attacks and combos.
I hope the regular ki blasts aren't obsolete in this one. You know with the quick movement and all.

I have a feeling that the little up arrow looking icon that we saw in the hud might denote transformation, as the only time we see it spent is when they went blue. They also had one more towards the end of the battle so that might be teasing an additional transformation for both of them.

During the beam struggle everytime the button was pressed the beam went back and forth I have a couple guesses how it works

-tug of war like mechanic where when you press the button based on how full the bar is you push your opponent back
-theres a numerical value with how full the bar is and the first player to reach the set number wins the beam struggle
