I saw them perform in October 1974 in San Diego, at the El Cortez Ballroom- still remember how amazing they performed. The Average White Band was the opening Band, and hadn't yet been known.
No comments and no thumbs down as of 1/23/21. I never got to see Cobham. I was supposed to go to a show with him and Jack Bruce and I forgot who else way on back. That Bass. Man, that is brutal. I remember this song from back in the seventies. Thank you for posting.
I was a roadie for the Don Ellis Orchestra in 1972 and 1973. Milcho Leviev was the keyboard player and was a monster then... Don snuck him out of Bulgaria, part of the Soviet Union... They did a tune he wrote called the Bulgarian Bulge! Alternating 33/16 with 36/16 bars! Band was hot. First gig was the Grammies where they were the "house," band. Don won a grammy for his score to the movie the French Connection
I started seeing all of these great musicians performing live in the 1990s when they were in their late 30s / 40s in age. Its nice to see them here when they were I suppose in their early 20s?
The world at large is still unprepared for the mighty power of the panamanian drumkit rapist Billy Cobham. The only man to have defeated Godzilla bare handed.

your comment made me think of Electric Guitarist. Bruce and Cobham are both on it but on different tracks. 1978

Thanks. This is one of my all time favorite bands. I never saw them live and didn't know any footage existed. This is great.
Peak Billy! Merci Zvonimir!
By the way, isn't it amazing how Billy Cobham went from playing straight ahead / soul jazz with Horace Silver to this? What a transition!
I like Billy, and Lenny White because they can play straight jazz and power fusion.
The real Jazz-Rock
High-powered band. Billy is a mf!
Wow. What is it with people's minds, that they can do that!
Damn !!
still love it!!
