Thats a great idea. Personally I've never been concerned with getting the neck cord caught and never had it happen, not saying it doesn't happen to some people or won't happen to me. I usually tie 2 knots on either side, making it adjustable and ride it as high as I can, less of a chance of catching it as there's no slack or dangling. I usually wear a hoodie/with the hood up at times and that prevents the back from getting caught too, even with the hood down. But I'm gonna store this hack in my memory bank!
Yeah 550lb test cord dangling around necks is kinda a ticking time bomb. Take a fall and it gets caught up or twisted.. I’ve seen some weird things as a wilderness first responder. A lot of neck lanyards have a built in break away for safety.
I like the idea and will try it. It's going to have to be good to beat the knot that i use. Breaks away easily but it wont fail and come loose until its supposed to.
Great use for a ranger band...! Just a thought so the ranger band doesn’t get lost when you pull, tie the ranger band off with some bankline to one of the cord leads...! 👍😀
Very cool safety tip Joe !! I could see how something simple like a neck lanyard can turn you into a casualty. So thanks for the tip. I dig the new name as well. "Rock out with Joe out". Yeah!! ATB your faithful sub, Mike. LOL
Thanks for the hack/review Joe. I'm curious about your thru hikes. Other than distance, what would you say the main differences are in thru hiking the AT vs. the PCR?
My company is still Wilderness Rocks. I wanted to freshen up the old youtube a little and was looking for the name to be open for more types of videos. Not much changes other than that. Still mostly outdoors videos. :D

I knew I was saving an innertube for something. Thank you!
Nice hack! I'm going to try this today with my Eldris. Thanks.
Excellent tip Joe. Ranger bands would also helpful in a survival situation to use as a fire starter! Take care. Steve (UK)

That is a great idea for the lanyard safety device!! Looking forward to seeing the new adventure.
I figured someone could use this idea. Gotta love simple ideas! :D
Mora makes some amazing knives, the Eldris is pretty cool.
Thanks for the awesome amazing Video Update !!!!
Good Idea with the Ranger Band. I like it better than the breakaway thingies
Yeah the breakaway thingies are always cheap or bulky. :D
Greetings from Utah. Good tip. Subbed. Thanks!
Greg Gibson thanks! Glad it was useful 😀👍
Great tip. I will be making one right away.
Sometimes the simple solutions are the best! :D How is everything out west Bruce?

Heck yeah Mike! :D Glad you like the name change.
I use electrical shrink tubing. Can’t be reset like that though.
I like the new channel name.
Heck yeah! Thank you!
Pretty cool hack, didn't think of that.
+Swedish Survival [Bushcraft - Nature] glad you like it! 😀👍⛺️🔥🌳
Joe Explores Im always excited to see more things you can do with the Mora Knife, since, you know, it has it's origin in Sweden.

Great tip, Mr. Mom. Thanks!
Love the comment Jacqui !! ATB Mike !!
Love the new channel name, by the way. Loved the old one too!
Someone spotted and thought about this problem at last
Someone please test if the Eldris will float in water. This seems like a good fishing knife for kayaking.
+Bustin Feelsgood it sinks for sure! 😀👍🔥⛺️🌳
Get the dangler belt loop thing
If it comes right off you lost your knife you can put the dangle in your pocket no belt backpack interference
Why'd you change your channel name?

Never heard anyone choking on their own neck-knife.
Joe Explores Will take that into account. I like the idea. And will put it into my Eldris modification.
Probably never heard of it because they don't live to tell about it.
Mine came with instructions to make a Slipknot
Hey you changed the name...

tie your cord with a Fishermans knot so you can tighten it around your neck. It will have a lesser chance of getting caught on anything.
carry it in your hat
1ST HAHAHHAHAH
Boom!
