I'm trying not to get too hopeful of Tom staying for good this time, but the feeling and vibe of it all definitely seems more authentic this time around than in 2009. We'll see.
100%. Last time they were brought back together after Travis' plane crash, but something still felt a little off and weird. Writing for Neighborhoods was very divided, you could tell there were definite Mark & Tom songs and the whole album was massively biased to the AVA sound. I know it's early days yet, but judging by Edging, Tom seems to be going more authentic Blink this time round and separating it from AVA completely. I especially loved how he used his BCR ES-335 in the video. I don't want to get too excited but I am hopeful, and I'll just be glad to see the three of them on stage together again ❤️
@@Travis-guy-247 honestly blink would've started becoming angels and airwaves if he never left in 2005, its clear from songs like Asthenia and then Not Now that it was gonna go more spacey/synths vibes... When Tom left in 2015, blink-182 just sounded like +44. But neighborhoods didn't just sound like AVA, Wishing Well sounded like a pure blink song that could've been released in 2003, plus the riff for Up All Night was a song created during the makings of Untitled, MH 4.18.2011 Sounded like it came straight from an unreleased +44 song... Tom was just the biggest influence of the band
As soon as Blink anounced their 2009 tour, my brother and I bought tickets from here in the UK to New York to see them in Atlantic City. It was the best gig ever - but on top of that, they announced tickets for MSG in NY so we went to that too and were filmed for this doccumentery, met Haven and got business cards for the Blinkumentary which I stll have today. My only hope is that Peter's Doc for AVA doesn't get scrubbed now!
I think I know why the band didn't release it, could you imagine st anger documentary but instead of Lars and James Hatfield bickering you have tom and mark disagreeing and not vibing at all. I bet blink didn't want people to know things weren't ideal. We all know the first reunion didn't last very long and it ended due to a communications breakdown.
I have a feeling we'll get one or two albums from them before Tom leaves again lol. Mark had cancer recently and Tom broke up with his wife of like 20~ years so they probably have been talking a lot. They're all obviously good friends that reconnect every once in awhile but life always tears them apart again.

My bother in law worked at the recording studio where they did much of neighborhoods (though it was recorded in the typical “everyone get in the studio and play” fashion). They had a few copies there. I saw one on in a “portfolio” (don’t know what to call it. It had various bits of media kit). I watched it but the quality wasn’t great. It was on a CD but the format was like a bootleg video CD file. My brother in law still has a copy I’m 90% sure. The wishing well video for sure uses clips but the story you get from the video is much different. For the record I grew up in San Diego and am their age. A guy on my football team dated Tom’s sister (not for very long) and I remember watching blink at small shows (like Canes. Soma. Etc)
When you film for 2 years it’s impossible to get into a 2 hour movie. Label issues, tension with members as it was always about money making from touring and a fractious atmosphere when writing for the album
Great work Anndy! While I love Blink, I wasn’t privy to this lost documentary, so it was cool to get a quick catch-up of it. It’s not surprising that it got buried though, because there was clearly a lot of tension between the band members. I think I even remember Mark saying that Tom didn’t even tell Mark and Travis personally, when he quit the 2nd time, and had his manager email them. Considering they grew up together, and had spent years playing and touring together, that definitely felt shitty and impersonal to handle it that way. I’m stoked he’s back, but it’s concerning that it’s seemingly due to Mark having gone through cancer treatment, and I hope it doesn’t end up the same way. Fingers crossed that Tom is doing it genuinely this time 🤞
Yea, you're exactly right. He just kind of bailed on them while they were negotiating a new contract. I'm happy they're back together and I'm interested to hear the new album, still it would be cool to see the footage Haven and Matt put together for this documentary. Glad you enjoyed the video!

Not a formal release with blinks editing and veto power but a leaked version of the film The filmmakers actually wanted to make.
I’m stoked Tom is back but we all know there’s a good chance it isn’t for good. And there’s probably some middle ground where he and the guys have agreed for an album and tours but also is able to do AVA when he wants to. I just don’t see him being forever in Blink, and maybe now that they’re getting older they all want that. They can go hard and then take a good while off to work on other passion projects.

@@anndynegative I remember being stoked for it when I was in high school, I'm fuckin 28 now
Holy this is one of the most click bait titles ever. Where exactly was the "disturbing" secret LOL
This is why I'm taking their public facing comments about the current reunion with a grain of salt. Everyone's acting like it's so amicable between them and the guy they just kicked out of the band but I doubt it.
matts for sure cool with it either way. he has his own band to work with.
what a waste of 6.24 minutes .lmao
You're completely delusional
Wait so whats the tragic secret again? Lol hate these clickbait titles
November 7th pops up in blink history multiple times. Here with the first trailer for the documentary and "The Mark Tom and Travis Show" was released on that day. Maybe I just notice because its my birthday.
That's neat! It's crazy to see the little patterns you can find if you're looking. Happy early bday 🎉
The reason Tom is back is because of Mark's health. This is their last tour and last album together. 😢
last? why? did they said so?
Why are you just making stuff up ?
If you knew anything, you’d know Mark is in great health at the moment. Move along

☠️💊💉🧫👨🔬💉💊🚬🔮🧪🍶☠️, 🥃, boys?, terrible pop songs, fan base?, starving for middle school joke songs?, No offense to the maker of this video, I vividly remember being in 8th grade & this garbage song dropping with the first single's title referring to a question a person who combs 🐕 hair for a living (or a paper with roads and towns on it) asks the self before Statue-Tori offense is perp'd. Or heck, maybe 🤔...they just got a hold of some expired "Joggin' In a Jug" & got em feeling all icky, who am I to judge(rhetorical) O yea, a person who believes in raising youngens not 📅'n them
what on earth are you attempting to say here? this is in unintelligible nonsense. put the fucking emojis and cryptic language away and talk like an adult that has some semblance of brain cells in their skull
What are you saying?
I agree with you about blink 182 fan
The fanbase is annoying and very obsessed with tom delonge to the point where its creapy
