When I was first married, my husband and I would hang out at a local coffee shop, we’d chat with friends and play Tetris on a cocktail table. Good memories.
It's Saturday morning and I'm watching this while I'm assembling a breakfront! I love that cabinet! Dynamo made some great versatile cabinets! I want one!
Nice purchase, esp. for that price. Tumbler, well I have seen a few "attempts" from other guys too and personally I wouldnt be happy with the result. I think before I put my parts into a tumbler, I would use a wirebrush on powertools. However, since I have a sandblasting cabin here, it would take me about 15 minutes to do the job. ( off course, you will need a rly good air compressor too ).
Just my the cents but I love using Evaporust. Give it a try if you can. Maybe hit it with that and then tumble for s sweet keyed surface to receive new metal primer and paint. Love the videos, can't wait to see how it turns out. Never seen a Dynamo cab before.
Do you have a recommendation for a specific ultrasonic cleaner? And what liquid solution would you use with it to remove heavy rust? Vinegar? Evaporust? Using a mechanical tumbler with abrasive media like ground walnut shells has been used in this hobby for a long time.
If grounding it de-isolates it, why are isolation transformers grounded inside cabinets? The manufacturers wouldn't have included them if they no longer served any purpose once grounded.
@overtimearcade because it's in a cabinet so nobody is touching the monitor and there's little risk of shock. I feel you haven't watched the videos I sent you about what grounding an isolation transformer does.
@overtimearcade whie I'm not an expert, but I think I'm that situation grounding the cabinet grounds the control panel from lightning strikes which doesn't care about an isolation transformer.

What a lovely memory to share!

Breakfront? So you're assembling a different kind of cabinet?? 😅

I want to get a sandblaster cabinet, but they take up so much room!
Great video Charlie, very nice job.
P.S. You'll love that bowl style tumbler. Thanks for the videos.
Thanks, Carlos! The bowl tumbler is awesome!
For the cardboard bezel you can use pinstripe for a car to make the blue lines if you want it to look like the original
Ooh, that’s a good idea!
Great episode man!!! I just picked up a working defender cocktail and a working millipede cocktail.
Thanks - and congrats! Those are some sweet pickups!!
Watching while wiring up a dynamo HS-5. Love Tetris. Great game for everyone.
My man!
If you want a smooth edge with Plexi/acrylic/lexan use your flush to cut bit on your router.
I was thinking of maybe trying a round-over router bit for the outer edges?
starting to look good
Thanks, we’ll get there!

Thanks, Ken - I just ordered a gallon of the stuff on Amazon! And I appreciate the kind words!
Those tumbler solutions make me really want a sandblaster.
I want one too, but they take up a lot of room!
I had a post fall off. JB Weld fixed it.
Did you JB Weld the post back on, or rebuild a post out of JB Weld?
@overtimearcade Put the post back on. It broke off.
@delsarcade The three posts that broke for me are still stuck inside the nuts. Maybe if I soak them in WD-40 they’ll come out?
@overtimearcade You can try it. I use Sea Foam penetrant usually. But WD-40 might work in a pinch.
@delsarcade Thanks - I’ll try Sea Foam.
Why did you get that? Most use ultrasonic. It uses vibration which work better then just turning which this does. You useing wrong thing.

@@overtimearcade the second one is good. I didnt see that before comment sorry. That should work good.
@james42519 I can rest easy now!
OMG stop grounding your de-isolation transformer on the bench!
I've watched them all! None of them answer the question of what purpose does an isolation transformer serve if grounding it de-isolates it.
@overtimearcade whie I'm not an expert, but I think I'm that situation grounding the cabinet grounds the control panel from lightning strikes which doesn't care about an isolation transformer.
There's a LOT more that's grounded inside a cabinet than just the control panel.
