- Welcome back to Château de Puy Vidal! As summer draws to a close, our family is savoring the final sunny days while preparing the château for the second half of our exciting 2024 workshop season.
Pool Renovation Update:
We’re thrilled to share that we’re nearing the completion of the highly anticipated Château de Puy Vidal pool renovation, which has been a long time coming!

The Lady of the Chateau Filmmaking Principals
At The Lady of the Château Productions, we value meaningful, authentic lived experiences and storytelling.
We spend our days observing and carefully recording our lives, our trials, and our experiences. Critical to our process is a period of reflection and absorption, where we let our lived experiences settle in. This helps invite objectivity and a sense of perspective.
After the right amount of process has occurred, we are able to open up again this footage and craft it into a video which we feel captures the essence of what we experienced. Like many crafts and arts, this process requires time and multiple stages. We call it our "distillation" process.
The result is videos that we feel proud of- bits of imagery, sound, and message that convey a sense of truth. By so doing, we hope to contribute to a better, more meaningful UA-cam, internet, and world.

I feel for you all having to constantly shuffle about between personal space and public space. That would drive me insane. So funny, the calico cat thinks he/she is being painted and is posing....in front of everything of course.
thanks for the vlog, a joy as usual! tip for de heading the roses. Cut down to the next five leaf leaf..if that makes sense - otherwise you will get rotting. The new roses will sprout from a five leaf not a three leaf. You will see when you do it. When you are pruning in the autumn go right down to an outward facing bud. You can be brutal. and mulch well with well rotted horse manure.

Hello chateau puy vidal, I love your videos and I do subscribe and have followed your family journey. Love love everything you all do from the restoration to the amazing art retreats! As iam no expert however your Chanel seems stuck at 28 k and should grow not only to help out with your business but you have o much content. My I suggest more frequent shorter catchup kind of weekly experience. I've seen other volts take off like Dan's chateau de chumont and of corse Stephanie Jarvis. Just a suggestion. I'll follow you guys no matter, as I think your sensational!!
My cat demands to go outside and in when he wants, he basically has us trained... He sleeps inside every night, but he'll be damned if we don't let him in and out 25 times a day... HAHAHHA

The pool people didn't come until after the workshop ended! We will show you the current state of the pool, in the next episode, and we wont make you wait a month for it ;)

I think I fall more in love with Puy Vidal with each new episode. I am completely enamoured with all the fine touches you put into everything you do. I know it's a ton of hard work on your part, but you make it look like you live in a fairy tale. I love everything about your lives!!

Your Maple tree has Maple Tar Spot disease. Unsightly at the end of Summer when the black lesions appear, but not inherently damaging to the tree. It’s caused by the species of fungus called Rhytisma. The spores overwinter on the dead leaves and become active in the Spring.

I have never been able to understand how ppl paint. I used to watch a man on Sunday morning tv, paint for 1/2 an hour and he always completed whatever he painted. I just sat amazed not understanding how you make a picture look like something recognizable. I still draw stick ppl. Loved the video. Hope the pool gets finished, soon. : )

Google ‘Reading the morning paper’ which is a book written about Lydia Cassatt, sister of Mary Cassatt. My mind went straight to the cover of that book( which I cannot get into this post) as you set up the model in white with flowers all around her. I THINK the cover picture may have been painted by Mary Cassatt. Charming, sweet book and the cover is so reminiscent of your artist’s scenario. More later

You’re by far and away my favorite place in the Chateauverse. Read about all the issues you’re having in the WSJ. Your workshops are obviously a great success (and definitely a far superior experience over other chateau channels), I think you just need a social media manager/expert to grow your channels and bring in sponsors to help supplement the workshop income, especially in the off season. That way you can finally pay yourselves in addition to making the chateau somewhere you can all live and work comfortably. I believe in y’all’s ability to make it work for everyone, but especially yourselves.

Sometimes Rainy weather can affect plants and trees, there probably is an AP that will identify the issue
U could do a commercial kitchen on the other side by ur retreat room and move ur offices upstairs! Leave the family kitchen where it is just renovate it! Then the people at ur retreat can sit out on ur patio where u have chairs and it will have ur commercial kitchen, ur painting retreat room, and easy access to ur pool...Did that help? ❤😊 love ur channel wish it was weekly or every 2 weeks 😊

The tables are pretty perfect for your needs though I don’t think you are going to like leaving them unfinished. They will gray and dry up every season and it’s a pain to clean and restore them. You’re better off giving them a couple coats osmo exterior.

Oh know you’ve got buxus blight around the roses
Unfortunately, this was the state of the box hedges in the rose & veggie garden when we bought the property two years ago. We plan on replacing them this coming season.
