do you have an industrial machine...?
I've seen some sail cloth machines (which would be good for canvas and cordura as well, yes?) at reasonable prices. . .
I'm not a salesperson. . . just passing it along if you're doing intensive work on a home machine...

I’ve tried different patterns and different sizes and different channels, but this bag is the best and easiest of all.
You explain easier than any UA-cam channel. This is a great scrappy project.
My favorite is the zigzag stitch because all other patterns came apart on the seams. ♥️

Great tutorial! I borrowed my mom's machine this weekend. It was my first time EVER touching a sewing machine. I stitched two pieces of fabric together to get a feel for the machine and then got to work on one of these pouches. It came out perfect! This was such a fun first project!!! Thank you!

I like getting the longer zippers. When you cut away the excess I like to use a portion of half the left over zipper as the loop.

I enjoy watching your videos. Very helpful and you explain your steps clearly. Any beginner should have no problems completing the project. I really love the zipper pouch. I made one for my grandson to take his spending money on his recent field trip and his friends wanted to know where he bought it. He said my mom mom made it for me and his friends asked him if I would make them a pouch. He volunteered me for the job. Anything to make him happy. He makes me happy everyday with his excellent grades.

I don’t need a lot of the things that I create to hope for the homeless. Projects like this are excellent because they don’t have a lot of room to carry stuff in so thank you so much for the great video I put it up to 1.5 speed but you still sound good LOL thank you Namaste

I love how you thoroughly explain each step so that even a beginner can understand what exactly what you are doing and why. I like how you show close ups of your sewing as if I were standing right next to you and following along. As for the music, I appreciate it when you silence it so I can hear what you are saying and played in between steps for a nice causal day of sewing with you. Great job. I look forward to more projects.

I have been sewing for decades and bought a small project pouch at a fair. I just couldn't figure out how to make one for my daughter and then I found your wonderful youtube site. It was extremely clear and I love the project bag I made for her. It's a lot bigger as I used a fat quarter for the bag and the lining. Thank you so much for putting the information out there for all of us.

These used to be called "humbug" bags. The name is taken after the treat bags that outdoor venders would sell on the streets of old London, filled with things like warm peanuts or chestnuts. Very nice tut, thank you!

Best zippered pouch tutorial ever! I whipped up three of these in no time! My third one is larger, the pieces were 9x18. I am using upholstery samples and let the sizes of the pieces guide th size of the pouch. Golfers love pouches like these to clip on their golf bags. Going off to make more. ....

I'm just finishing up my very first little bag. I used my Poppa's old jeans with puppy paw print material on the outside. My Pop is 87 years old and he won't be with is much longer. I'm using his jeans to make these little treasures to pass out to family.
I'm on hold right now because I broke my needle and I'm having a difficult time removing the screw to replace it with a new needle.😢. I really could just cry because I was so thrilled to see it finished.

    Vanessa,
I love your video, it is clear, to the point and easy to follow. I make tote bags, wallets and jewelry and have been contemplating this little gem myself.
While watching I realized I could make them into small beaded key fobs instead. The one I made myself is a little over 10 years old. I was going to make another one just like it but, your video inspired me to use the little Zipper Pouch as a fob.
Thanks for the nudge in that direction. Keep on keeping on.

What a wonderful tutorial, thanks Vanessa. As soon as I find my zipper foot, I will be making some of these for my nephews to hold their iPad earbuds and other things like fidget spinners and small toys, and for myself for kleenex and for smaller knitting/crocheting notions (I think I'll need to go to the larger 6" x 10" size you show here). With the extra loop tab, theyll be easy to attach to back packs and inside of purses or project bags. I may not use the exact stiffeners you've shown, but it's easy to modify to use quilt batting and/or fusible fleece since these are affixed to the flat pieces before you add the zippers. Thanks for taking the time to plan, write, edit and post this useful DIY video! ~Diana from Toronto
