I've never seen the Broadway version, but from the music alone I feel like this song works better in the movie format

Ok finally, I've found a Carnaval del Barrio video with comments.
I have a huge issue with a few bits of this song.
Why didn't Carla say "Se no que tu cantando" Instead of awkwardly spanglishing her way through "I don't know what you're cantando"??
    Also, "Chile-Domini-CURican"???
WHat happeneding to Cuba? She could have easily said "ChilediminiCUBrican".

On the first issue, it's because when you know both languages and are fluent or near fluent in both, some words come out easier in one language over another. Even as a person whose first language is English I find some Spanish words make their way into my everyday speaking on accident. Most of the time I don't realize it occurred, until after people ask what I just said, that the entire sentence wasn't in one language. And while the phrasing may seem awkward to you, it isn't uncommon to see people who speak both languages to lazily put together sentences in that manner. Lin Manuel Miranda likely did it for phrasing, so that it fit. Also, it would properly be written, "No sé de que estás cantando."
On the second one, I do agree the "B" could have been pronounced to make more clear that is also Cuban.
