Im using the cx78+wireless with a light sixer Sears and a Heavy Sixer. You need a extension for the heavy sixer due to the trim in back. I think the wireless "music" might be the Atari picking up the bluetooth signals between the controller and the dongle. I know the sixers have a CD4050 hex inverter that debounces the fire button on the controller ports, and that might be amplifying the noise a little.
Excellent video! Thanks for sharing details on which specific consoles are affected by the audio bug. Disappointing to hear that Atari joked about it. Hopefully they will take the issue seriously and fix it.
I pre-ordered two of the NES style controllers back in August and they're due to arrive in a few days. Very much looking forward to trying them out on the 2600+. Great review video.
Decathlon great game. You just brought back awesome memories. I used Atari/Commodore Kraft controller s for the game. Shocked how long they lasted from the abuse.
You really missed the chance to get a plush parrot mate ;) Very nice hardware for the price! Those part numbers looks AWEFULLY like STM32 part numbers ...
@RetroHackShack I tried the blue retro dongle and it didn't work on my FB9 Gold. I assume because it's 3.3v instead of 5v. Just curious if you tried it.
You could also use the Atari controllers with like computers and stuff back then I remember having my brother having a commodore 64 and I could just plug in an Atari controller into that mother f*****.
Has anyone tried this with the Atari 8 bit computers like 400/800/XL/XE? If they work on 2600, I'd like to think they'll work. What about the CX78+ gamepad - I figure only one button would work in that case, but would be nice.
Atari made a wireless joystick for the original VCS/2600 around 40 years ago. :)
It was a monster!
Yes it was my girlfriends favorite stick. She left me for it.
Yes, have a set. Huge RF antenna sticking out!
lol u wont a cookie, bro. Go home 😂
What’s wrong with you? I’m just making him aware since he said Atari never made a wireless joystick for original hardware back in the day.

Great video! I also have the loud hum using a cx78+ on a light sixer, it's a bummer, i hope they can fix the issue, if its even possible.
Awesome. I'll play Decathlon over, and over, and over (each over means a broke controller) 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅

Missed chance to do a "Christmas Story" reference.
Ha ha. Maybe I still have time for that.
Some of the flashbacks do not . I tried on flashback 9 . But the 9 was the one that paddles do not work and were supposed to
I wonder if it has something to do with the paddle inputs then.
@ I think it’s something with voltage output 3v vs 5v . I’m going to try the 10 and the 8 . Paddles work with them

Good idea
Awesome
Do these controllers work on the Flashback consoles?
they should work on anything with the same pinout 9 pin Atari standard

@segastardust8836 if it works with a real original controller I would think it would work with this one too. I don't have a flashback 9 to test with.
