also just wanted to say i (as i'm sure a lot of other people) are interested in YOU not just clothes!!! so i love seeing these more personal videos!! also two hours is a big move! just because you're not moving across the country doesn't mean it's not a big deal! anyways so excited to see all the new thrifting and estate sale content! and hopefully even more fun collabs!
Prayers for your family’s health issues. And praying y’all find the perfect place to live soon. Congratulations to John on his new job and to both of you on this new journey.
congrats! Personally I moved to a major city hours away from home and it changed my life for the better! It also made me love and appreciate my hometown a million times more
I’m so excited to have somewhere new feel like home!! Although it is really nerve racking to think I’m not going to live where I’ve been living my whole life!
@@alexasunshine83 I will say it's not easy at first...but having people around and definitely having something that to focus on helps. Plus, we are all here for you
i moved 5 hours away out of my hometown/nearby city 3 years ago for college. met boyfriend/partner that first semester, and been here ever since. didn't regret it. can't wait for us to both graduate this year, and see where life takes us.
It really hits me when she talks about her ocd how much she struggled with doing daily things. I feel with anxiety it’s similar where your thoughts betray you and keep you from doing something you actually could do. I’m so proud of Alexa and I’m so happy she gets to move on with her life !!! Please more Disneyland vlogs
Living in Belgium, moving from 1 side of the country to the other takes 3 hours. And halfway through, the language spoken changes from dutch to french. So travalling 2 hours can be a huge difference for anyone. You don't have to justify it being a big deal or not. I wish you all the luck🤞
It sounds like you've been making real progress with your therapist so I just wanted to say well done! I know it's so hard to make these changes but you've achieved so much this year.
It's good you're moving closer to LA to give you more options for your channel & being able to socialize. A 2 hour commute a tough. I knew co-workers who lived in Pennsylvania & drove 2 hours to work each way daily to New York City to work for many years. I don't know how they did it. I don't have that kind of patience
Haha yeah I always think of commuters and I’m lucky that I didn’t have to drive that long every single day but even just three or two days a week really hits ya!
Oh my gosh, no way! I’m also in the process of making a big move (from the East Coast to the west. It’s so crazy how fast places can go, or how expensive they are. But I’m so excited about all of the things that I can experience, just like you can! I really think that a big move is anything that’s more than like 20 minutes away from where you already are. Because even if it’s in the same state, the people, the sites, and the activities tend to be different. It’s something to look forward to I’m so excited! 💖
so PROUD of you for getting on the highway ! YAY!!!! i deal with the same issue and i just drive slow and at the slowest traffic time if possible.but i cannot count how many times i got halfway to the city (2 hour drive) and turned around terrified
Therapy rocks! John rocks! Congrats on his new job and I know you are grateful for his support (driving on that freeway etc.) in the meantime. And YOU rock! As a fellow "still living in her hometown"-er I know how scary it is, not to mention the real estate market sounds hellish and I can't imagine the stress behind that. But it's happening! Finally! WOOHOO!!!! xo
Ahhh, so excited for you! Moving can definitely be A Lot but it’s something that I think everyone who is able should do at least once in their life - you learn and grow so much! And I think that even if you’re not trying to run from your past, leaving a hometown/place you grew up/etc can be a very liberating experience. Best of luck and congratulations!
I'm so glad you talked about this struggle. It's funny all thats been on my mind is choosing colleges to transfer to and potentially moving out or staying even though I may not want to and getting over my fear of driving. Life changes are a lot, glad I'm not alone right now. Good Luck!
I really feel you. I'm 33 and still living in my hometown. Like yours, there's absolutely nothing wrong with mine and it's a lovely place to live but I increasingly question whether it's where I want to live out my adult life and know in my heart that answer is no. I'm single and live with my parents (grateful to have a loving, supportive family around me in a house that has plenty of space for 3 adults) and a well paid, secure job a 30 minute drive away. However, I know there's so much more out there and I've still so much to experience that I just won't get where I am. My job is very important to me and I'd be reluctant to change it. Also, if I was to move, I don't know where I'd move to. I guess I haven't found the place I'm meant to be yet. I just know that ultimately, it isn't where I am now.
Congratulations to you, John, and the kitties, Alexa! It is awesome you have both worked so hard for this opportunity, it is brave to take a chance on something new! You bring so much sunshine to us on UA-cam, wishing you so much light and happiness in this new part of your journey!
That is so exciting! I am in the process of moving out of my parents place for the first time right now. I have never moved before so it is really stressful for me, as there is so much stuff to think about. I wish you all the best for finding a nice place as soon as possible and hope your moving process goes smoothly :)
It is interesting!! I am grateful you are sharing yourself with us! Bless you girl. I know you are going to find the perfect place! You’ve got this! Love, Joy
It’s good to hear that therapy has helped you through this time with your OCD my 14-year-old daughter is waiting to be diagnosed so it gives me hope that her future won’t be too hard and I was 26 and I moved to a completely new country from Massachusetts to keep Breton Nova Scotia love you videos, keep up the good work❤️🇨🇦
Exciting!!! Congrats on the start of your next chapter 🌸💕 I really struggle with driving phobia specifically on the freeways because of past panic and I appreciate you sharing. It’s hard to push through but it will be so worth it!
I love ❤️ watching you. You can talk about anything and I’m happy. Lol 😂 My son moved from Home (Florida to LA) I was super sad but happy to see him spread his wings a fly.
Aaah so exciting!!!! I moved from Germany to France 6 years ago and it has truly been the best decision I've made in my life! I hope that your move will be the same for you 🤗 wishing you all the luck! And so exited to see the moving content etc! I love seeing more of your life too 😃
Congrats!!! Can't wait to see what this holds for the channel! I'm moving away from my hometown to go to uni next year and I'm super nervous but we'll see what happens :))
I really enjoy all of your videos. I am excited to see where this new adventure takes you and John. I always wanted to move toa new place. Do it now while you are young and don't wait until your my age.
Congratulations to you two on the move and to John on the new job. You are doing so great with everything. I feel like I'm anxious about everything lately.
Just wanted to say how much I appreciated this video! I moved back after college and after a year after getting a job mid-pandemic, I've been contemplating moving out or completely just moving away and finding a different job to start something new. It's nice to know that there are other folks with similar hesitation on leaving yet still wanting to pursue something new, so I appreciate your take on it and your honesty about your ocd/anxiety as it makes me feel less alone. If anything I think I'm going to stick it out for another year to save money then push myself outside my comfort area! Hope all goes well with the move and wishing you all the good vibes for apartment hunting 🧡
I'm so happy for you! I hope you'll have the best of time in that new city. I'm in the process of trying to find a new job so I can leave my mom's and start my life on my own. I'm really scared and excited at the same time but hopefully it'll happen soon and it will be a smooth process.
Hi Alexa, I just want to give you a vote of confidence. I was in a very similar position as you back in March and my anxiety was at an all time high. I experienced the apartments getting leased out from under me, the back and forth, and personally so roomate drama. All that to say my partner and I are in such a wonderful apartment now, truly everything we want at the moment, it met all our criteria and came just in time. You WILL find the right place and it will all be worth it 🥰
Change is nerve-wracking, but exciting! I’m happy for you and your husband (and kitties!) I hope you find some enjoyment despite the stress of the moving process. It can be fun too! 💙
Congrats on the move wishing you the best, I live in England and I moved over three hours away from my home town. I can also relate to not having a good high school experience, also a lot of people from my high school still live in the area, don't they have any sense of adventure for loads of them to just stay in Peacehaven? I can't imagine what it is like in America when people move even further away because everything here is quite close together as is. The furthest place is probably about six hours away, it is crazy how big America is.
I know what it is like to have anxiety and have a panic attack, so when you said you since drove four times the way that originally scared you, I thumbs up the video. That us suvh am accomplishment and empowering to know you can overcome hard things. ❤️
I'm so happy for you and I hope this will be an amazing new step in your life. Driving on the scary freeway, moving away from the familiar, these are all big accomplishments! You seem like you are blossoming with new confidence.
Congrats and good luck! I moved to the next town over from my hometown and I'm planning to move to a bigger city next. I get nervous thinking about it but I'm also excited.
Fantastic news!! Sending good wishes on your apartment search. Thank you for sharing your freeway story. I have the same challenges as you and will have to soon face driving on freeways that I am terrified of. I will think of you and your strength to get through it!
ALEXA. I just want to say I AM SO PROUD OF YOU. Change can be so necessary for our growth even if it’s scary at first. You conquered a freeway? You’re moving out of your hometown? You’re challenging your OCD? Wow. I hope you’re able to take a second and reflect on how incredibly strong & resilient you are! ❤️
please dont ever think that we dont care about your personal life, we want you to be happy, comfortable and growing❤im so happy for you and dont worry if you miss an upload or something, moving somewhere else is stressful as is, hope you find somewhere where you, John and the kittens can create beautiful memories, im sure you will❤❤
I'm so happy for you! I moved out of my parents house for the first time with my longtime boyfriend and let me tell you it was HARD. I live in Miami where rent has skyrocketed higher than anywhere in the U.S. so it was months of searching and disappointment and tears. Five years ago I moved with my parents from Paris ( hometown ) to Hong Kong Scariest thing ever but also one of the best things that happened to me Especially since I’m moving back to Europe this summer for uni
At the end of May students at state colleges go home and there will be a lot more rentals available, but that's a long wait. There are seasons when rentals are easier to find. Change can be good. Try to enjoy the journey rather then letting it overtake you!
I am very happy for you. I know what you mean about the rental market. The rental market here is just unreal. I have looked at places and the next day it's gone.
I’m from NY and I love California. Really want to move there one day. I hope I can move out from my parents soon. I regret waiting so long to get my license. It’s the only thing I really need left to move out. I love it when people move because I love watching moving content on UA-cam. ❤️
Congrats!! I moved out of my hometown in Illinois back in July and moved all way down to Houston Texas!! I am about 30 minutes from the beach *even tho I have been twice* finding an apartment is a lot of work and its a process that's for sure!! But again HUGE CONGRATS ALEXA!!!!
I moved out of my hometown 8 years ago and it was the best decision! I hope you find amazing community, a good coffee/tea place, and the best thrift stores.
Moved 3 towns over best thing my hubby and I did to be closer to his work . Since I’m A social butterfly still know many people lol . But it’s so much nicer here !!!
This all sounds very exciting. And I totally get the forbidden highways thing. I've had to work through highway panic many a time. Good luck on the apartment hunt!
Do you deal with driving anxiety, because if you do I could seriously use some tips! I've been struggling with anxiety while driving long before I even got my permit and it continues several years later. Also love your channel! I found you through Carrie Dayton, and you just radiate so much joy and sunshine honestly, definitely what this world needs!
Hey Alexa! Can you make a video of how do you style your hair? I want to cut my hair but I don't know how to style it and I LOVE how your hair looks since you cut it 💖💖💖 🥰🥰
There are so many great cities surrounding LA! So glad to hear you’re not doing the norm and going there, because honestly as a life long So-Cal gal, LA is the last place I want to be. Congratulations on your new adventures! ✨
Yeah I grew up going to LA with my parents for their job so it doesn’t really have that magic that most people out of state have for it and yeah there’s soooo many other cities in SoCal that I actually like a lot more for living 😅
I grew up in the CA valley, and just found out my fiancé is getting a job in San Luis Obispo 🥺🥺🥺 after 26 years of dreaming of leaving it’s finally here
wow, a month is pretty fast from an interview to a response for a job in my industry! 2 weeks sounds intense. but usually in my experience you just kinda figure out that you didn't get the job and you're lucky if you even get an email months later
Yeah my friend told me it took her 3 months to find out an answer so I have NO IDEA why I thought it was going to be so fast??? I think all the jobs I've had only took about two weeks so I just assumed, but yeah very normal for it to take longer 😅
Honestly my style is very different from yours, to the extent that I don't find some of your outfits appealing (personally). I watch your videos because of your personality and positivity, I love the advice and introspection you give! Good luck on this new chapter babe! ♡
also just wanted to say i (as i'm sure a lot of other people) are interested in YOU not just clothes!!! so i love seeing these more personal videos!! also two hours is a big move! just because you're not moving across the country doesn't mean it's not a big deal! anyways so excited to see all the new thrifting and estate sale content! and hopefully even more fun collabs!

congrats! Personally I moved to a major city hours away from home and it changed my life for the better! It also made me love and appreciate my hometown a million times more
Ahh yeah I feel like my growth has stopped just because I’m in a place I’ve always been like I need a new place to become the person I want to be!
Moving out of your hometown is a HUGE glowup...I moved 3 and half hours away from my hometown...going back is really weird feeling
I’m so excited to have somewhere new feel like home!! Although it is really nerve racking to think I’m not going to live where I’ve been living my whole life!

Maybe you can travel and see new countries in your holidays as a start of your adventures
I'm moving to another country in September (and also obsessed with apartment hunting)
I'm a fellow anxious gal here, we got this! I believe in us ♥️
Good luck on your apartment hunting! I always like to hear about your life and stuff as well as the clothes stuff.
best of luck with finding a place 💕 can't wait to see everything you plan on sharing!

Congrats on conquering your fears. I have ptsd and ocd and get it so much. Sending you so much love and acceptance.
This is so exciting!!!! Congrats! And also congrats on overcoming your anxiety and driving on that freeway 4 times! 👏
I moved out of my hometown just 20min into a large city and my life changed in such a positive way. I wish the same for you both ❤
I relate so much with the apartment hunting ordeal. It is soooo hard to get a place right now. But soon the perfect one will pop up and you'll get it!

VERY interesting and exciting!!! so happy for you
Hope your Grandfather has a speedy recovery. 🤗
ALEXA. I just want to say I AM SO PROUD OF YOU. Change can be so necessary for our growth even if it’s scary at first. You conquered a freeway? You’re moving out of your hometown? Awe I wish you the best of luck on your new chapter. I'm also excited for you guys.
I'm so happy for you! I moved out of my parents house for the first time with my longtime boyfriend and let me tell you it was HARD. I live in Miami where rent has skyrocketed higher than anywhere in the U.S. so it was months of searching and disappointment and tears. Life can feel like it won't ever give you a break but then things will eventually go your way. I'm glad that these months of uncertainty for you have taken a turn for the better and good luck on this new chapter! ❤️

I definitely needed that 😅 it’s definitely been overtaking me so thank you !!! ❤️
This is so relatable, it's so difficult to move away for the first time.
New thrift and exploration spots! My boyfriend and I of ten years are moving out for our first time next month too!!
I am very happy for you. I know what you mean about the rental market. The rental market here is just unreal. I have looked at places and the next day it's gone.
Leaving my hometown was the best thing I ever did! So happy for you!
Sending you good wishes to find an apartment! This is such a big step in your life and all the stress will be worth it💛
Good for you, best of luck!

I moved out of my hometown 8 years ago and it was the best decision! I hope you find amazing community, a good coffee/tea place, and the best thrift stores.
☺️☺️ ahhh I’m so excited to go to a coffee place that isn’t just Starbucks !!
My first move away from home was 16 HOURS away. Definitely wish it was closer to family!
Good luck with the apartment hunting Alexa 💜☀️

Hey Alexa! Can you make a video of how do you style your hair? I want to cut my hair but I don't know how to style it and I LOVE how your hair looks since you cut it 💖💖💖 🥰🥰
Congratulations!! How exciting
Goood luck finding a place. It's horrible where I live. I couldn't do it - buying an rv would be cheaper and less stressful.
I actually really like videos about you and your life. I usually click on them faster.
So excited for you!!!
Change is good and scary, best wishes!!
Sending you all the good apartment hunting vibes! 🖤🖤🖤
Congrats on moving! Cheers to new adventures! 💕
❤️❤️❤️❤️
There are so many great cities surrounding LA! So glad to hear you’re not doing the norm and going there, because honestly as a life long So-Cal gal, LA is the last place I want to be. Congratulations on your new adventures! ✨
Yeah I grew up going to LA with my parents for their job so it doesn’t really have that magic that most people out of state have for it and yeah there’s soooo many other cities in SoCal that I actually like a lot more for living 😅
I grew up in the CA valley, and just found out my fiancé is getting a job in San Luis Obispo 🥺🥺🥺 after 26 years of dreaming of leaving it’s finally here
Congrats!!!! So so exciting !!
@@alexasunshine83 tysm!! Congrats to you too!!
wow, a month is pretty fast from an interview to a response for a job in my industry!
so proud and excited for you!!
❤️❤️❤️
I am happy for you 😊
