This season has been a dead-ass mess, and not in the fun way. Production needs to offer more support to the queens. And queens need to do a better job of asking themselves if they are truly ready for the pressure cooker that is drag race.

I know I sound cold, and everyone is allowed to feel a certain way, but that's ON THEM. There's something so lazy in calling yourself a professional, and whine about the gig being as a demanding as it always have been, and for things getting as tough as we all knew they were gonna get.

Milks them dry? Being on this show opens the doors to tens of thousands of dollars in the future (if not way more) for a relatively short period of time. The real issue this season especially is that they picked a bunch of small named/early out queens who wants to be elevated by All Stars without elevating their looks/skillset to an All Stars level.

You can't pretend the contestants don't understand the protocol just because it makes it easier to view them as victims down the road. Multiple girls this season were wanting to leave because I'm sure they could tell during shooting that this was a low rent season, not because drag race simulates warfare. I think this is a “they are both right” situation. I can see where Ru’s coming from, but also queens like Heidi or Adore. At the end of the day, it comes down to doing what feels best for you at the time.
The whole setup of the show is too much like Real Housewives. They foster the fighting instead of playing up creativity.
Adore regretted leaving the show even though she said she would not have did. Everyone that left like this eventually regretted it.
Both Adore and Heide wanted to leave since episode one because they felt overwhelmed and when they receive the critiques they didn’t want to hear it was their time to find an excuse to leave. It wasn’t about “mental health”.
Heide wouldn’t have won anyway.

The fact that RuPaul himself!!! had to come in and straighten shit out this season, PROVES!! that none of these queens are ready for the crown. It’s really a downgrade from the previous Allstars. Doesn’t mean I don’t love them but be frs, its like a professor having to explain manners to a college student.

Jimbo for the crown
Jimbo is on another level than all the other girls and not only deserves the crown, Jimbo could do an all winners season and probably has a chance at winning. Just cause there’s so many lackluster queens this season, doesn’t mean Jimbo is lackluster. Actually one of the best drag race queens ever.
To me it proved Jimbo deserves the crown because she was not only involved but actually motivated kahanna. I also think la la and Jessica are ready to be crowned.
Kandy just isn’t delivering as high as others do but Ru admits he just likes Kandy being Kandy
Alexis is so talented but the over dramatics are off putting
Kahanna over stayed her welcome and it showed in this episode. I also thought she was a definite for fame games but she’s repeated the show girl look too many times now and her threats outside the comp to other queens are given Tyra/ king James energy

he talks about "its just fun" when theres literally life saving money on the table. AND reputations! And its not fun when ppl dont own up to their lies. Id leave too if it meant my career like some other queens who diddnt have to sell out to WoW for a place on the wall of fame. NOT to mention many queens have said they spent more on the outfits than prize money....

And also, most of the queens said that the final reward money was subject to taxation. Which seems to be half of the announced amount.

But RuPaul probably doesn't understand the pressure that the queens go through while competing. Interestingly Michelle Visage has quite famously told other drag queens to to do Drag Race because it "will destroy them."

I see this as a two way street.
The queens have every right to remove themselves from a stressful environment if it’s too much for them. However, Ru also selected them to come back because they’re fierce ass bitches. If you can’t handle the heat, you need to step out of the kitchen.

Yeah, I agree. Mental health should always be a priority. However, these queens chose to be on a reality competition show, which is stressful regardless of what show you do. It’s not a one-sided argument.
a lot of people are blaming production for over producing the season which i understand, BUT, i do feel like the queens themselves do have serious issues that's literally out of production's control. literally you can see Heidi and Kahanna still have drama OUTSIDE of the show and you can't blame the production for that now. these queens have some deep shit to work out

What? "Feelings are not facts" means he's ripping Heidi's reasons for leaving and also people like Adore. Emotions feed the narrative on this show; it's emo-porn at the highest level. . Ru's the one who encourages the queens to do things like talk to portraits of themselves as kids, and to expose intensely personal histories like abandonment, rape, and HIV! Bianca said she was extremely careful coming in when the producers asked her if she had ex-boyfriends or past stories and said no. She knew they would use whatever she said as fodder to feed her characterization. Her emotional moment was missing her little friend Lola and "realizing" she's not such a bad bitch, completely benign.
On this show you _have_ to act on your emotions because Ru wants to be that kind of example of people speaking freely about feelings and being sensitive. So either Ru should appreciate that folks are acting on their feelings to pull out of his competition, or he encourages them to bottle their feelings so they stay in the competition. He can't have it both ways.
What i believe he means it that feelings are not absolutely true. Feelings change. What you feel right now may not be what you feel when you let time pass. Ever heard the term don't make important decisions when emotions are high? Adore, in the AS2 reunion said that she's embarrassed because when she left she thought about the young people who was rooting for her. He's trying to explain to the girls that they may leave but they may be leaving for something that is fleeting and that they have to think really hard about it.
“Feelings are not facts” doesn’t mean that your feelings don’t exist or don’t matter; it’s saying that feelings are rooted in our inner world and should not be used first and foremost to drive our actions outside of ourselves.
RuPaul can and should do anything he wants to within the legal confines and parameters he wants b/c it's HIS SHOW.
I think he meant , that sometimes our perception on things isn't always" good ", you as a human have the control over how you feel, your thought and actions and nothing more.... so I think what he's trying to say is to look at the situation from a different perspective to step out cognitively and analyze if the issue is REAL like if it's not just some trauma/fear in your head that you haven't worked on psychologically or if it's a real danger to you and if it demands a reaction like leaving the competition.... cause running away from the issue /fear/trauma isn't going to solve it it's only going to feed it and make it stronger... the best way is to expose yourself to that fear and it Will diminish once you understand and know why you are feeling the way you feel and then you can take action.... cause the things that cause us anxiety usually won't ever happen, they're unlikely to happen and for sure they have not happened...

Imagine starting a drag career in the 80s you dont know what she had to go through in her own life to be where she is today and to put all her money on a show about drag queens and making it more and more popular, showcasing drag queens and LGBTQIA people and their stories in the mainstream world.
This is supposed to be a pressure cooker its a competition and reality TV, it has been that way ever since and if you dont like it dont watch it. And if youre a drag queen dont audition to be on a show that has pressure, its a stupid logic to join something that is heralded as the "Superbowl of Drag" to not think its difficult.
A lot of you complain its so toxic and overproduced why queens walk away or quit, then stop watching because you are supporting this toxic thing, right? If this stresses you out, dont watch and give yourself peace.

@@wilfred29 I know they have been doing it for years, but the recent seasons (about the last 3-4 years) you know they are going in. Yes, they have a show to do, but the approach has not been the best. Example: a rivalry I enjoyed was Alyssa vs. Coco. That was some good storytelling. To date there has not been an intense rivalry like that (in addition to Roxxxy with Jinkx). If they were going to cast Naysha, they could have cast Jade Sotomayor.

Drag Race has to stop pretending it’s a competition. It is a SHOWCASE of these queens. Everyone knows the producers have chosen who will make it to the end more or less. They have a story they want to tell. It is a tv show and the drag race producers have a product that they need to protect.
But they need to completely change the format. It is NOT a competition. Stop pretending it is a real competition. That is a huge part of the problem here.

This specific season was originally billed as "early outs" when being made. It seems many of these girls went home early for a reason. When you can't hack it, you can't hack it. Sometimes you can leave, learn, grow, and then come back; however it seems that didn't happen with many of them. You can't blame it all on production either. The girls in this season are just in such a stark contrast to the winners season - a blind person can see it.
They really went out of their way to keep Kahanna from leaving and then put her in the bottom for no damn reason.
I think production will be the downfall of this show. Just like ANTM
I think this should have been done with Heidi leaving. Well, they have a show after that and they don't want to bring that down any further.

I think theyre gonna take a break on allstars after this season of allstars season. I know they have vs the worlds and a universe and season 16 and the international series they are doing but as far as plain allstars i think itll be a bit til we get any more.

What some of these fans don't realize is this is a REALITY TV SHOW. Of course it's going to be hard and exploitative, but, guess what, the queens signed up for it. Some shit is gonna go down after Drag Race finally decides to end or even during it. Just like ANTM, there will be queens airing out production and the heinous interference they do every season, it’s already been happening a bit.
These queens are tired and know it’s not a game but rather who is the favorite that week. Production milks these queens of their worth and they really have no other outlet because Drag Race has a monopoly on drag. I don’t blame the queens who have left because its always warranted.
