Voltage should be around 12 V for the lock. But what is the current rating? Did you check? should it be atleast 3 Amps ?

I did not understand the changeover from left to right. I can not make sense of his changing the latch. He changed it from a door opening on the inside to a door opening on the outside. I don't think there is any change needed in case of right or left. Please reply.
