  • Parrots are loud! It helps them call and keep track of one-another in the wild.
    Unfortunately, they are wildly loud in your home too! Of course, some more than others.
    Parrots not to get if you want a relatively quiet parrot: Amazons, Cockatoos and Macaws (some Conures too)
    Parrots that you'll enjoy and won't make your ears ring? LOL! Generally, smaller parrots fit the bill, such as Parrotlets, Budgies, Cockatiels, Linnies or Loverbirds.

    Sierra Parakeets are on the quiet side but they are rare.

      You have me curious about them! However, they are very rare here too. I don’t think I’ve seen one in person. Good to know they are quieter - similar to the Linnies?

    My green cheeks have generally been pretty quiet! They definitely have little screaming fits occasionally. Female cockatiels are also on the quieter side, at least compared to the males. My caique though... he's a loud boy. I can hear his beeps from 3 houses down the street with all the widows shut LOL.

    I Have 6 parrots and they all are loud especially my conures and Hahn's. I love my loud feather babies. I'm a brittle diabetic my loud babies have saved my a few times when I had low sugars and with their screaming helped snap me out of it to eat something. So I will stick with my loud dragons. My Sun Conure is Loud and i love him for it.

    What do think about green cheeked conjures?
    They seem quiet and cuddly and friendly which is the holy trinity for me 🙃

    • @ParrotBliss
      @ParrotBliss  2 роки тому +1

      The trinity in deed! But, consider a Crimson-bellied Conure. My experience is that they are quieter and friendlier. I did a video comparing the two - if you like, do a search on Parrot Bliss Crimson-bellied Conure and you should see this video and a couple others on CBC.- If you do, let me know what you think of them.

    My parrotlets are relatively quiet. They will have a little period of noise, but most of the day they are quiet, or singing to themselves (which is so sweet) or one of mine talks. He will chatter away the few phrases and words he learnt before the second parrotlet joined us.
    I am hoping that they both will talk but this may be a tall order for the second one I have my 🤞
    The budgies my daughter has at our home are a lot noisier

    My Caiques can be ear shattering. When my smallest girl, Siggi, gets going she get the entire flock going. Along with her natural calls we are serenaded with wolf whistles, the microwave, laughter, kisses and what I call, caique purrs. Siggi is rarely silent. Even when she playing with her best friend or toys she is making some sort of noise. Just the volume changes. I usually am able to tune it out. When they are quiet it usually means they are up to no good. Ironically, the canaries are annoying to me. Go figure. Your new baby is precious. How old is she?💕💕💕

    • @ParrotBliss
      @ParrotBliss  2 роки тому +1

      Wow! My canary is silent now… I think she has lost the sound contest!
      The baby - well, I think the store was off because they said she hatched 10/27 which can’t be. At her size, I don’t think she’d have all her pin feathers at a month! Maybe two months? Three?

    Please check your baby Whitecapped Pionus’ feet for hair wrapped around her toes. She has been turning around over and over during your video getting tangled in your hair. They are adorable birds. I have 3 species of Pionus and just live thrm.

      Thank you for posting! I am already looking forward to the development of Cati’s crown - the coloring is likely to come in as they mature or at a first molting. I say this because that is the way it is for several other species. What is your Pionus’ name?
