It’s been two weeks since I’ve seen my friend. I developed feelings for her for months and I wanted to protect her smile and laughter. I thought it was over. I thought I was done hurting for her. But now, out of nowhere it comes back worse than ever. I was just scrolling through my camera roll listening to this when her snap code came up. It all came flooding back to me in a torrent of repressed emotions that I didn't even know were there. It was the first time I even toyed with the idea of being in a relationship with someone for four God damned years and she mentions her boyfriend in a conversation as if it was just another "and". I wish there was something there to put the blame on. I would feel better if there was, but there isn't and I'm stuck here in my bed, with a wet spot on my pillow from tears, and a cold ache in my stomach that sometimes turns into physical pain from the hurt. I thought I deserved to be happy but maybe this is what I've been cursed to live with.
