Buyers Beware..... Sellers from India are listing them as antiques on eBay, Etsy, Facebook, Craigslist and Amazon for as cheap as $160 up to $1,200.00. They are worth NOTHING!!!!
Some of the parts are from old machines to give it more an authentic look but it,s nothing more then a mish mosh of parts and fake decals that say victor or Columbia on them ! They are okay if you don,t want to spend alot of money for decoration but they are pretty much junk and these type of record players as antiques don,t go for very much , you can usually pick one up at an antiques store for around $200 or less and it will be a real antique and not a copy of one!
I wonder if the supply of original ones are running out as some of these have no original parts. They have copies of Thorens style motors which usually run too fast. I have also seen lots of original sound boxes on eBay from India and wonder if these come from the doner gramophones as even the fakes with original motors seem to have new fake HMV branded sound boxes
