As someone who has mixed many videos with stock music, the “edits” that Pond 5 keeps asking will actually be quite helpful if you make them. Specifically a 15-sec, 30-sec version, etc, for the client to choose. Also stems. Or like, just drum and bass, no strings. So people can play around and customize the music to their videos. Just not enough to compromise your music.
I’ve wondered about the shorter edits. I’ve seen videos where several people recommend them, but I haven’t bothered to go through and trim any down yet. I might do that some afternoon when I’m looking for something productive to do. Probably better to get some of those done while I only have 4 tracks up there instead of waiting until I have a ton. I hadn’t thought about the stems yet. That’s a good call. Thanks!! I don’t know that I’ll ever actually make any real money off of this, but I realized a bunch of the tunes I wrote back in March were just sitting on my computer, so why not see if anyone could use them.
