Imo he was trying to get sacked at the end think he thought they was talking to other managers in the summer behind his back also the press was always on his ass was never gonna make it and his decisions at the end were just strange he was definitely looking for the payout
I personally think season 2 ruined any hope of progress with Ten Hag. The constant injuries particular in defence meant he couldn’t build a stable team and try integrate a style of play. Season 3 he was playing catch up and the poor start cost him
The fact that ineos started looking for coaches while he was still in charge really affected him mentally. This is the truth, it made him felt he was no longer trusted and betrayed
Hard to point at one particular thing. But Rashford’s performance is one of the biggest. Yes ten hag was stubborn when he kept on choosing Rashford but with a talent like that you figure he’ll eventually break out of his slump and perform like he did during ten hag’s first season. We’re still waiting for that breakout nearly a season and a half later.
Rashford kept him in the job in the first year. And he would have been sacked by 6 months because his team doesn't score goals. case and Bruno saved him in his first season.
Only element I disagree with is the 'it was last season that got him sacked'. I feel last season he actually came out with alot of credit because of the obvious terrible circumstances, most of which were out of his control. The feeling then ofc was he gets another summer, we have less injuries, less off the field issues etc and we kick on from there. Unfortunately the kick on just hasn't happened. A club that is as down as United are don't need to see instant amazing end results, but they do need to see progress, something to cling onto in terms of what we are trying to do and unfortunately we were still just seeing nothing. GL to ETH, I very much think there is a good manager there.
We have to ask ourself, who has been behind not clearing the deadwood. When each new coach arrived and WANTED to clear the deadwood, deadwood refused to leave!! In my opinion, we should not forget GLAZERS still own the club and deadwood cases happens since years not only with ETH. It is wrong to say, he had favourits. Yes, but after he was unsuccesful getting rid of deadwood and his signings he wanted, did not wanted join ManU. Same happened to ragnick, Soljkaer etc.Don't put too much hope in Ineos and don't forget Glazers which you do and don't see the red line.
Old Deadwood would be Rashford, Shaw, Lindelof. Could also be Antony, Mount Casemiro if they don't kick on with Amorim. Zirkzee has been very poor so far but needs more time to adapt to the PL.
You can add an eighth. The Dutch culture of direct communication is the antithesis to that of the UK. In the UK you say one thing, but mean something else (which by the way is a problem for non-native speakers). Van Gaal had the same problem - in press conferences the media couldn't handle his direct replies. I noticed the same with Erik. Half the time something interesting in the UK actually isn't, a great idea is actually a bad one... Etc.
It’s obvious why eth failed, this cowardly bunch of players sacrificed him because they couldn’t play his system. When you cross that line you give all for the shirt, these players gave nothing. I want Amorim to succeed, but with these players, I wouldn’t bet on it.
When managers treat players with discipline which should be there in a club or there will be hierarchy and players don't like manager for that, it's manager's fault ?
Even though everything went wrong last season he still was given another year and trust from club. He failed this season besause the players didn't buy into his philosophy, you got to have the charisma and personnality to make your players BELIEVE.
@@SJS8667 Ok. Why Moyes failed? He had plenty of that sort of players. He failed cuz he was no sir Alex Ferguson. Players to perform need motivation or some kind of attachement to the manager in the case of sir Alex it was maybe fear and it worked back then. Look what happened to Mourinho, nobody believes in his philosophy or playing style anymore. That's why he is failing everywhere.
ETH’s biggest mistake was not listening to Van Gals advice and coming to United in the first place. Obviously Armorin and not learned from this. Glazers have created a death pit for any player of manger’s Career and the parasites and still here.
The not accepting that the football was bad was probably the biggest reason. Fans stopped relating, and that was on him. Can’t keep talking about trophies when questioned about performances. Every club has players who are out of form, ten Hag never rotated his team based on form. He was worse than Ole in that regard.
@ I’d rather be a part of the title race mate. Mock Arsenal but I’m sure their fans enjoy the football every week while I was struggling to watch my own team play. We watch sport to be entertained and United under ten Hag were anything but that. I’d tolerate it if I saw improvement, but we objectively got worse with every season. Also, ask any club if they’d prefer Arteta or ten Hag as the coach and we both know what they’d choose.
ETH never bought a world-class striker. From the start, it was obvious that MU would struggle to score goals, and Bruno would have trouble passing because the striker can’t position himself well. Instead, he bought a backup-level striker from his previous team.
Sacking another project manager just feels kinda depressing and i do feel bad for erik. I think there were many reasons why it didnt work, some out of his control some that were in his control and in the end i think he became too stubborn and sacked himself.
@almac9203 it wasn't just him to be fair, I agree with most of the criticism but when you've got the upper end of the club not knowing what they're doing either then his bad decisions just end up getting approved
Everything the Glazers and their minions have done has been a mistake. What a mess to clean up. How they value the club at $10 billion after they have destroyed it is utterly disgraceful
Remember when there was reports over the summer that Ineos had apparently said that no one is safe in terms of being sold? Things like getting rid of dead wood is honestly a farce. If they meant it they'd have gotten rid of more. Have to do it either in January or the summer next year. Can't just be let off either. Yes there were certainly players who they just couldn't sell, but it definitely wasn't all of them, there's still a heap of players that have to go, and a lot that most people wouldn't want to hear because they're too focused on their over obsessed aura of these players, over the entire club, which is ridiculous to be honest. Until there's a REAL clear out, and the Glazers are gone, there won't be any significant change in how these seasons will go
If we've had all these managers but the same dead wood then clearly the owners are still interfering. It almost looks like INEOS are the Glazers sportswashing the club's image while still remaining firmly in control.
I think ‘Falling out with players’ is bound to happen when u take over a toxic spoilt dressing room which ETH did from Ole. He did brought some discipline and professionalism which was required in the dressing room
You don’t have to go to extremes of getting rid of players, you can first show them no one is entitled to special treatment and give consequences like benching them etc for a start. They either become better and fight or if they don’t react properly, THEN you remove them. Not just Rashford either, Bruno needed rests and to be pulled off at times and he never did! He was weak and firm with the wrong players and most importantly, didn’t implement his way of playing and then buying players to fit.
I go back to that Brentford game Ten Hag really wanted to implement his Ajax philosophies but we simply didn't have the players especially in Midfield even the 6-3 Man City hammering you could see this man really wanted to implement his style but he miserably failed with the players we had Eriksen and Fred was never gonna work. The difference between him and Pep's first season is Pep analyzed the Team, identified the problem and fixed it the next season and we all know what happened in that next season. Ten Hag kinda understood the problem that's why he wanted De Jong but unlike Man City he didn't have a recruitment Team that understood the problem and knew how to fix it leading to mistakes such as Mount. Ten Hag was backed more than Mourinho, Ole or Van Gaal but the players he signed did next to nothing in terms of progressing the Team Tactically, Pep used his system to pick his signings Ten Hag became desperate, frustrated and terrified of losing the job so he threw away his philosophy and went basic which led to a really good season but at the cost of progression.
I agree but Wriknwas also his own worst enemy. What about this season? He bought players that would go with the way he wanted to play and didn’t use the most needed one to strengthen our weakest area of midfield. Amad who is the best winger by a country mile and can keep the ball and make things happen was left on the bench when we needed him the most. He was ready ever since his last loan out and everyone knew that but him. The stubbornness and obvious errors by many managers, not just ten hag is crazy. Not saying fans get everything right and we are sway from side to side, but all of the common sense issues that the fans complained about for years all were proven true.
I'm still best for the job HEH you will regret when I win prices elsewhere HEH! Rome not built in day HEH we are on the same page HEH trust the process HEH
When managers treat players with discipline which should be there in a club or there will be hierarchy and players don't like manager for that, it's manager's fault ?
Ten Hag can't play as he wants to play, he needs wingers who can defend at both the front pitch and backfield. Most importantly someone who can hold the ball at midfield, Rashford and Bruno is not good enough in ETH's team.
Holding on to the dream that he could play Rashford back into form probably let him down. Sent a message to the other players that they couldn’t displace his favourites
Who’s this deadwood, those whom don’t respond to a manager ? Then it’s his fault equally. The Captain is critical as on field is equally important as off, team spirit is something that requires real attention. A sense of fun was missing leaving an overpowering “pressure” !
In the very first game it was obvious that the players were , as a whole, unfit. It took too long for ETH to start Casemiro. He was the same with Ugarte.
Ten hag lost the players they never tried to do what he wanted , and Eth just tried to win and hold on in the end . He was let down and one big thing as well was the takeover for me . That smashed the first season for me, and it changed Ten Hag because in his first season, he was very bullish to the media and swag about him and utd also did . But his second season, something changed he was shell of himself and the players stop running then all the usual stuff smashed him as well Lets see if Anything was learnt from past 13 years with Amorim
@@raycarlbrown-amory3509 how stupid are you, onana/deligt/licha/dalot/Maz/Case/bruno/ugarte/Garnacho/Rashford/Hojlund are his players, he either signed or gave them contracts
Failure to correct glaring and obvious errors on the field. For example the "Eric ten hagg island" in the Midfield in almost all the games he managed. Opposition teams ran through our midfield like it was nonexistent 😂 Also, continually playing Rashford even when he wasn't performing. He continually played onana and refused to try or give the substitute keeper a chance even when onana was costing us champions league and other cup games. He stubbornly backed the wrong players even when they were costing us games and they eventually cost him his job. I will advise Amorim to investigate why other coaches failed at united. He should also listen to advice and be flexible enough to change when there are errors, else he would another coach whose career got destroyed by Man utd and its players.
I backed eth til the end but let's be honest, he wasn't good enough. He didn't get the best out of the players. No style of play, which drained the confidence out of the squad.
It's literally because some how these spoilt brats have managed to convince themselves what they are doing is a career... when they are well paid and what they do as a job many of us do for FUN!!!!!!!!!
As much as I liked Ten Haag, his man management skills were comical. It's okay to be a strict manager, but some players respond better to the "arm around the shoulder treatment".
If Amorin goes with 3-4-3 from the start he will suffer defeats early on because he has a limited amount of time he can spend on the training pitch with the players. If we go deep in the domestic cups and Europa League we are faced with midweek games for most of the season. But he has to stick to his guns. Players that can't or won't adapt to his system have to be got rid of. Ineos have to back him if he identifies players as surplus to requirements!
For me there was a clear moment early on where i think he realised it was an impossible job with the players & structure in place. Seemed like was happy to take the payout for a while before it happened. I never felt like he really wanted it enough, just not enough fight & it was infuriating watching him constantly say we played well after embarrassing defeats.
Mark, EtH created a lot of the deadwood. In fact, by far the biggest deadwood we have at the club is a player EtH signed. What’s wrong with these UA-camrs?
Favourites Fc....we need our board to back a manager who is capable of putting the team first ahead of individuals. Exactly like Fergie did it...they need to have a hairdryer and be able to drop poor players despite wages and stature.
One of the Ten hag’s biggest mistakes was focusing solely on results instead of establishing a consistent identity for how the team plays. You could see a consistent identity with his Ajax team but abandoned it when he came to the united as maybe he felt the pressure of needing results.
Problem for me was Bruno was holy. He was never swapped out for Eriksen or Mount. Even with months of poor performance. Amad should have had more playtime end of last season and start of this.

Your toxic positivity when he was in charge means you’re not allowed to say he failed. He was a success in your eyes.
"Toxic" positivity is not as toxic as toxic negativity. It's only toxic to the Ten Hag Outers soon to be Amorim Outers!
Ten Hag inners weren't blind to his errors and bad choices and limitations in the same way that Ten hag Outers were blind to any positivity or progress.
There is a difference between backing/not wanting for him to be sacked and saying he was a success. You're doing too much here imo
He never fell out with players, stop pushing this agenda. Even in his last few games you could see that the majority of the team were trying their best it was just not coming through, he sacked himself due to all the rest of the reasons you mentioned in the video and also reasons like favouritism and dropping players like Amad who were doing really well.
You think he failed because of one player?😂
Why didn't he bench him?
Rashford always performs on contract Year

Are we gonna pretend like Ten Hag is the only Man United manager that fell out with the players??
So that’s an excuse to have not failed because others fell out as well?
@@SanilDewanAnd your point? All of the other managers also failed n got sacked!
@@danuj4349 Yeah so that’s an excuse because others fell out as well? What’s your point?
@@SanilDewan that it's the players
Thank you eth ❤
Who is the dead wood Mark!! Ffs you say this every season. Who are they
Half of the squad
Etc.
Guy at Liverpool doing ok
It’s obvious why eth failed, this cowardly bunch of players sacrificed him because they couldn’t play his system. When you cross that line you give all for the shirt, these players gave nothing. I want Amorim to succeed, but with these players, I wouldn’t bet on it.
His man management let him down, his handling of issues was more like my way or the highway he treated senior players like development players
When managers treat players with discipline which should be there in a club or there will be hierarchy and players don't like manager for that, it's manager's fault ?
He stuck with trash lazy players and lost his job, if Rubin does the same he’ll be gone. Get rid of rashford.
Get rid off Rashford
Playing Rashford no matter how bad he is/was, made Rashford play even WORSE!
THIS because he never learned that he had to improve
He doesn't listen to anyone and thinks he's always right. Stubbornness
Oh so that’s why people call me stubborn :)
Even though everything went wrong last season he still was given another year and trust from club. He failed this season besause the players didn't buy into his philosophy, you got to have the charisma and personnality to make your players BELIEVE.
It's is not about charisma and personality. This is not cinema. Players need to feel responsible to play with determination
Jose at Chelsea and inter
Klopp at Dortmund and Liverpool
Pep at city.
Slot at feyenood
Amorim at Sporting
ETH’s biggest mistake was not listening to Van Gals advice and coming to United in the first place. Obviously Armorin and not learned from this. Glazers have created a death pit for any player of manger’s Career and the parasites and still here.
The not accepting that the football was bad was probably the biggest reason. Fans stopped relating, and that was on him. Can’t keep talking about trophies when questioned about performances. Every club has players who are out of form, ten Hag never rotated his team based on form. He was worse than Ole in that regard.
The media piled in on him, he became defensive, which turned the fans against him, which made his position untenable. Summary: media are arseholes.
Well see when Amorim plays good football but doest win anything, like Arsenal. At the end you will be remembered by winning something.
Lacked charisma, energy, leadership
This is not cinema for that
ETH never bought a world-class striker.
I swear he said last week that people shouldnt keep going on about how ten haag failed and it was in the past :/
He was so bad that it feels good to rubbish him again! Terrible manager set us back many years with his horrendous transfers.
@almac9203 it wasn't just him to be fair, I agree with most of the criticism but when you've got the upper end of the club not knowing what they're doing either then his bad decisions just end up getting approved
so you are no longer EtH man, you are a just a funny business man.
Get rid of the deadwood , simple.
Took United years to get rid of the *Woodward* 😩
Getting rid of deadwood is not easy to be honest as no one wants to buy them
Exactly, i mean who in their right mind would buy Shaw?
The biggest mistake was appointing Ten Hag.
Everything the Glazers and their minions have done has been a mistake. What a mess to clean up. How they value the club at $10 billion after they have destroyed it is utterly disgraceful
Quick to forget that you were Ten Haag in!
Until there's a REAL clear out, and the Glazers are gone, there won't be any significant change in how these seasons will go
More important question, why are we still talking about ETH 😵💫😵💫😵💫
If we've had all these managers but the same dead wood then clearly the owners are still interfering. It almost looks like INEOS are the Glazers sportswashing the club's image while still remaining firmly in control.
I think ‘Falling out with players’ is bound to happen when u take over a toxic spoilt dressing room which ETH did from Ole. He did brought some discipline and professionalism which was required in the dressing room
I agree that he left a good squad. There's less dead wood than previously. Sir Alex left a great but aging squad. Rashford out!
Same problem that Amorim will have: He wasn't allowed to sell players he couldn't use because they are on massive, ridiculous wages.
So when’s this channel gonna apologise to Sancho for the diabolical slander?
Rashford! And team selections.
Ten Hags mistake was his stubbornness. There never was any unity from him or the players
If you don’t change player power and the culture of the team, you’ll be making the same video about Amorim in two years .
One of the biggest mistake is trusting these players.....and what INEOS did in the Summer who would want to stay, Think he sack himself on purpose
Ten hag lost the players they never tried to do what he wanted ,
and Eth just tried to win and hold on in the end .
He was let down and one big thing as well was the takeover for me .
That smashed the first season for me, and it changed Ten Hag because in his first season, he was very bullish to the media and swag about him and utd also did . But his second season, something changed he was shell of himself and the players stop running then all the usual stuff smashed him as well
Lets see if Anything was learnt from past 13 years with Amorim
They’re his players, if they can’t play his way it’s his fault
If he can't coach his own players, that is on him.
@aghaluugochukwu6493 he could coach them because they won't the ones letting him down
@@iifrvnkyii8417 he had miss match of players his and others never so this thing about it was his players nonsense
Fed up of everyone talking about ten hags style of play when he never had one.
He never met Ralf. Wanted to go alone and see for himself. Mistake
Should have
- Sold rashford
- played Amad every game
- signed better players
- Signed a ready made striker
Ralf Rangnick was right all along
I backed eth til the end but let's be honest, he wasn't good enough. He didn't get the best out of the players. No style of play, which drained the confidence out of the squad.
It's literally because some how these spoilt brats have managed to convince themselves what they are doing is a career... when they are well paid and what they do as a job many of us do for FUN!!!!!!!!!
You say, he abandoned his principles early on - how can he be stubborn then???
As much as I liked Ten Haag, his man management skills were comical. It's okay to be a strict manager, but some players respond better to the "arm around the shoulder treatment".
If Amorin goes with 3-4-3 from the start he will suffer defeats early on because he has a limited amount of time he can spend on the training pitch with the players. If we go deep in the domestic cups and Europa League we are faced with midweek games for most of the season. But he has to stick to his guns. Players that can't or won't adapt to his system have to be got rid of. Ineos have to back him if he identifies players as surplus to requirements!
ETH tried to implement his style and lost embarrassingly to Brentford and Brighton respectively remember?
Ten Hag ruined his era with favouritism and constantly playing who he likes regardless of their performance
Players sacked yet another manager 😢 😢 😢 😢 😢
Morning marky
He barely used ugarte
Because Ugarte was purchased for Amorim.
One of the Ten hag’s biggest mistakes was focusing solely on results instead of establishing a consistent identity for how the team plays. You could see a consistent identity with his Ajax team but abandoned it when he came to the united as maybe he felt the pressure of needing results.
Only results count at United. The golden United of Fergie did not play beautiful football. But it was effective.
Problem for me was Bruno was holy. He was never swapped out for Eriksen or Mount. Even with months of poor performance. Amad should have had more playtime end of last season and start of this.
Eth failed in motivating his players. He could never instigate the killer mentality in players
Ten hag defeated Real madrid and Amorim defeated Mancity when both were not expected to
For me most important thing is to pick your team according to performance and player form.
Leave ETH.. How are we still talking about this guy, that's unfair on him, and Amorim.
Reason 6 - Always chatting positive crap after the match even tho we played bad.
So is he meant to say the players are inconsistent, overpaid, lazy and selfish?
Mark, you missed the number one reason - Antony Dos Santos. When you convince the club to pay that much for a player, you better be sure.
Ten Hagsworst trait was failing to drop players who were out of form or not putting in the effort. Bound to create a malaise in the dressing room.
He had favourites ..
